Jinpachi might just be my favorite sushi restaurant in all of LA, which is a bold claim but everything was freaking delicious. Cute and simple interior - everything is focused on ensuring you have a good meal with great and attentive service. I definitely recommend making a reservation. We had the pleasure of going during Dine LA Week and the deal was so good. The Wagyu nigiri wasn't on the Dine LA omakase but we had to get it...and then proceeded to get several more orders. I will be going back!!!!

The ambiance is very warm and intimate.

Jinpachi is one of those rare places that by hard work, consistency, and superior fish quality had manage to still be a place that gets excited visiting even after 10 years in this city. Nothing about it is fancy, everything about it is filled with genuine care for their customer's experience. To me that and the fish quality is everything.

Best sushi I've had in LA so far. I ordered the sushi moriawase and my partner ordered the sashimi moriawase - pieces were all fresh and delicious, comes with miso soup and a salad. Recommend sitting at the bar so you can watch the chefs slice and craft each piece so carefully and efficiently. I also really loved the neighborly, cozy feel of the space, as well as the efficient and helpful service. Definitely on the pricier side (a la carte sushi items were up to $12 per piece!), but worth it for a special dinner experience in my opinion.

My favorite sushi! 10/10 experience always. Taka is so nice and every piece of nigiri is treated with care.

What an experience! Fish was so clean and delicious, perfectly cut. Server guided me through several suggestions and they were all absolutely fabulous. newfound favorite was the Amber Jack... had to go back for more. Service was top notch with empty plates being whisked away moments after they were finished, and somehow it seemed my water glass never emptied even though i was drinking through the whole meal. Obviously a respected local spot with a warm friendly atmosphere. Worth every penny and then some. Chef skills were apparently next level.

10/10 for sushi quality. Took my super picky friend here and he said this was the best sushi he's ever had in LA! I will say it's definitely top 3, will be coming back again and again. The service was super quick too and the price was not bad for the quality of the fish.

Jinpachi is great. An unassuming spot hidden right on Santa Monica blvd in West Hollywood. Easy to walk in without a res and fish is high quality.

Jinpachi serves up terrific and fresh sushi and sashimi, mostly in classic styles. It's a small sushi bar that people sit around with a few ground floor tables in West Hollywood. There's an upstairs that can accommodate another half dozen dining groups. The tiny affair is minimally decorated, nothing worth mentioning, but consistently good... The one drawback? It ain't cheap. Know that going in.

The place was nearly empty, yet service was slow. My 'Rich Man's Roll' tasted fishy, sashimi was bland, and I actually had to ask for salt at a sushi restaurant. Then a waiter placed a dirty napkin directly on my dish while I was eating and accused me of throwing it at him when I removed it. Completely false and unacceptable. What's worse is the manager/owner, who has spent years greeting me with hugs and asking about my son, suddenly couldn't be bothered. She sat at the bar eating, didn't come over, and I had to track her down myself only to be told she'd "check the camera." That's when it clicked the friendly relationship was completely phony. When it actually mattered, there was no accountability or care. Plenty of better sushi spots out there. Don't waste your time or money here.

Well, since I eat out nearly every night, I know exactly when my bill feels a little too high. I paid it anyway thinking maybe I'm adding it up wrong and I also added the tip. I either hit the 20% or the 22% I can't remember but bare minimum I hit 20% cause that's the lowest I ever go thinking, hey something's off here. We'll come back to that. Your bill is presented on a Squareup POS machine but the screen only shows you the total. I had it email me an itemized receipt because the total seemed just a little high. Once we walked out of the restaurant, I waited and waited and waited. It took TWO hours for the receipt to show up in my inbox. Once you open the email, it still won't show you an itemized receipt because it says it's processing it. It is working to build you an itemized receipt to be viewable. I kept going back to the email over and over again throughout the day trying to get it to show me the receipt. It took until the next morning for the itemized receipt to finally show up and there it was just like I suspected a 16% "Azai fee" had been added onto the bill. It doesn't stop there. They TAX you on your total PLUS their fee! They're taxing you on the fee THEY added. Now if you want to add in your own gratuity for the server, absolutely fine, all day long, but you have to say that, show that, and print that. The fact that it is an "Azai fee" and not listed as a gratuity makes it shady like the owner is just pocketing this. Also if you look at the photo, it's not even calculating the tip percentage correctly. 20% minimum of that total should have been $21 and change. The two stars are for the woman who made our sushi. Won't be back.

We had an rsvp but wasn't busy when we arrived. Was sat immediately and served water. They have a pretty extensive menu of most things you'd find at a sushi cut roll spot. We ended up ordering the toro garlic toast, veggie tempura, ginza roll, and several pieces of nigiri sushi. The toro garlic toast was pretty good - sort of like a spicy tuna crispy rice situation ... but a little fattier and more garlicky than crispy. The ginza roll was pretty good too - a lot of fish in the roll and wasn't overwhelming with too much sauce. The tempura was good too- not super oily and all your typical veg involved. The nigiri sushi were pretty well prepared. The size was pretty good for the price - and each were accompanied by a small garnish on top or a little bit of sauce brushed on. All in all - I wouldn't say it's a date night place, but is a good easy eats sushi spot for rolls and nigiri for the price. Would recommend!
