After weeks of warm drinks, rock-less cocktails, and an inability to put ice on sore muscles, I contacted Mike. He got back to me quickly and sent a technician here right away. Unlike a New York public school teacher during covid, the technician got to work. He removed the ice maker assembly and suggested it might need to be replaced. I began mental preparations for taking out a second mortgage, as Viking parts are absurdly expensive. In short order, he determined that the assembly worked fine (pretty impressive for a 20-year old fridge). A piece of food had gotten into it and blocked the water flow. He fixed it, put it back, and I was back in the ice-making business in no time. He could have totally fleeced me, but did not -- restoring my faith in humanity, but not New York's teachers' unions.

I had mentioned to them that my building had strict requirements for insurance and Sal sent over a COI within less than 24 hours of our call that met my building's approval. Sal was very responsive over the phone and scheduled an appointment for a 2 hour window. Alex, the technician came during that time window and also gave me a call 20 minutes before his arrival to give me a heads up. I love how communicative the entire NY Viking Team is. When he arrived, he made sure to cover his shoes with blue covers and he was able to quickly diagnose that my oven door needed new hinges and gave me the price, which I agreed to before he then promptly fixed everything. For folks who want peace of mind that their oven will get fixed and don't have these technical skills, I definitely recommend giving NY Viking a call.

Mind you, the dishwasher itself is $600. BUT WAIT THIS ISN'T EVEN THE WORST PART. I decide to just get the drain pump and do the repair myself. SURPRISE the problem wasn't that! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY…read more One of the most unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a handyman service. I scheduled an appointment specifically to have a TV mounted with the wires concealed. I explained exactly what I needed ahead of time through Yelp Messenger, so there should have been absolutely no confusion about the scope of the job. The day of the appointment, they started texting me asking the same questions I had already answered--all of which were clearly visible in our Yelp conversation. Then they actually showed up without the equipment or materials needed to conceal the wires and told me they couldn't complete the job. So why show up in the first place? If you knew exactly what the job required before the appointment, there is no excuse for arriving completely unprepared to do it. This was a complete waste of my time and an incredibly frustrating experience from start to finish. If you're looking to have a TV professionally mounted and your wires concealed, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Based on my experience, I would never use Tony's Handyman again.

Our point of contact, Daniel, mentioned that they prioritize customers who spend more with them. We spent over $5,000 with the company, yet we felt our concerns were not treated as a priority. Daniel was often unresponsive, and we also had issues with the technicians' work. They installed a new dehumidifier, and we paid as soon as the installation was completed. However, the unit did not work properly for the next two months. On top of that, the company was very difficult to reach and slow to respond. This situation caused us to lose business. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company. If you do decide to use them, I strongly recommend making sure the equipment is working properly before making the final payment and do not speak with Daniel.
