After some Yelp research, I found Coastal Cleaners and considering the rating, I just had to try it. Since I had a couple of scarves and heavy coats, it would have been such a hassle to have to carry them into a storefront. So the fact that Coastal Cleaners picks up and delivers was such a godsend. I scheduled for a Thursday before a holiday weekend and didn't have a garment bag large enough since I had just moved in. I gave them a call to see how to handle this. They delivered a garment bag the next day, which was awesome. I left the clothes with my doorman and at the beginning of the next week, the clothes were done and delivered back to me. Super convenient and reliable. Everything looks great and I can finally check this task off my to-do list. Definitely recommend!

I live in downtown Jersey City so it's more convenient to have the "Free" pickup and drop off. I must say that the van service is awesone. They call me when close to drop of on Saturday morning. The delivery guy is always the same and he is awesome and friendly. As for the cleaning. So far they've done a great job on my dresses, sweaters, blouses, skirts and combo leather items. The packaging is great and the clothes are clean and fresh. It's huge amount of work that obviously goes into this dry cleaning they do. Not many people know. Thus the price to clean items is reliable but you get more service and detail for it at Prime time cleaners. Usually they clean for me regular pieces but from time to time I have some important events in my life so I'm giving them some expensive and delicate stuff to clean. If you have a specialty gown or dress you need tailored or cleaned then this is the spot! They have helped me with numerous pieces including repair a vintage sequin dress, alter a beaded gown from India, and clean an expensive and elaborate party dress. I highly recommend them!

My gown was a sample dress from a designer, therefore I bought it 4 sizes bigger than I was. It was a mermaid shape and had to be tailored perfectly to fit correctly and it had 3 layers of material to it as well as a few repairs to the dress itself due to it being a sample. I also had to have the dress hemmed, and had her create a bustle on my dress. In total, I paid $500 - alterations, hem, bustle, cleaning & Steaming, as well as getting a bustier bra for my dress through her. REALLY GOOD DEAL. I was worried about having just anyone alter the gown, because it was a designer gown; however, going to see Susana and seeing the other dresses that she had created on her own, I was very confident in her as a seamstress. Plus the fact that she was super cute. She will take your dress in as early as 6 months ahead of time where she will take an initial estimate of all the work that needs to be done, but will not do any actual cutting until a month before the wedding. This is actually to save her work, because brides tend to fluctuate in weight / size dramatically within the last month of their wedding. She will have your dress finished, steamed, and cleaned 2 weeks before the big day - if you do have any extra alterations even then, she can do it in a week! Also - the nice thing she did was that she handstitched my hemline, that way if I wanted to sell my dress and that person was taller, they could release the hem at least! PERFECT! She is absolutely wonderful and the dress fit like a glove!

On my first trip here about a year ago I brought in a few items and left with a perfectly fitting pair of linen trousers (second hand find that were a little too big) and another pair of pants that also needed to be taken in. It was perfect! On this last visit I brought in a few items that needed tweaks and I worked with Jimmy. He helped me bring all 3 pieces to life and I can't wait to pick them up. Ruined My Graduation Dress and Then Treated Me Rudely ! I…read morerarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I feel obligated to warn others. Three days before my graduation, I brought in a brand-new white Donna Karan dress that I had purchased only two days earlier. The dress had never been worn. The only issue was that it had gotten wet during delivery and developed a few yellow water stains. Before leaving the dress, I specifically asked whether the stains could be removed. I explained that the dress was for my graduation and that I needed it back quickly. I was clearly told that the stains could be treated and that the dress could be properly cleaned and pressed. Based on that assurance, I trusted them with an important garment for one of the most special days of my life and paid for expedited service. While the dress was returned on time, the actual service was a complete failure. The stains were still there. In fact, the dress looked just as bad, if not worse, than when I brought it in. When I got ready for my graduation and took a closer look, I realized the dress was not wearable. At that point, it was too late to find another solution. What makes this even more frustrating is that this review is not about the $22 charge. It is about trust. If the stains could not be removed, I should have been told that from the beginning. Instead, they accepted the dress, assured me the work could be done, charged me for the service, and returned it without fixing the problem. To make matters worse, they also removed the original Donna Karan tag from the dress and did not reattach it or return it to me. This was a brand-new designer dress, and there was absolutely no reason for the tag to be removed without my permission. The final disappointment came when I called to express my concerns. The person who answered the phone identified herself as the manager and was extremely rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in taking responsibility for what happened. There was no apology, no attempt to understand the situation, and no effort to make things right. This business did not simply fail to clean a dress. They ruined an important moment that I can never get back. A graduation only happens once, and because of their poor workmanship, lack of transparency, and terrible customer service, I was left stressed and disappointed right before a milestone event in my life. Please read the reviews carefully before trusting this business with any important garment, especially a new or special-occasion item.
