I've been here before, back in February 2026 to have a bridesmaid dress altered and they did a…read morewonderful job, so I didn't hesitate to return. Unfortunately, my experience this time was completely different. I brought in a simple double layered dress that only needed to be hemmed and was quoted $140, more than the dress itself! I was told that because it had two layers, it was essentially like "hemming two dresses." At $70 a layer, I guess every layer counts. I then asked about simply taking in the waist of a pair of jeans. I was initially quoted $25, but after looking at them again, I was told there was suddenly "a lot more work" involved and that I had been quoted incorrectly. At that point, I took both items and left. I went to another alterations shop and was quoted under $100 for BOTH the dress and the jeans. It seems management may have changed since my last visit, which is unfortunate because I was previously very happy with their work. Hopefully the pricing doesn't continue in this direction, because $140 to hem a simple dress is pretty hard to justify.

Frank picked up both gown & shoes same day and delivered back in less than a month, looking as clean as the day I bought them. He even replaced 2 buttons I had lost while dancing. Alterations to go is a nice balance. I recently got a new pair of Paige jeans hemmed and it only set me back $15. Both sides even, nice cuff - not much more you could ask for. The staff is generally fine, although there is one woman who tends to be curt. Most recently, I went and the 3 staff started laughing when I came out of the fitting room. They asked if I spoke Spanish. When I replied no, they proceeded to speak in Spanish. It was strange to ask and the rest of the interaction was uncomfortable. When I asked for clarity on a price the attitude I got back was enough to walk away. $60 for any dress that has a lining; even if it's a simple cotton sundress. She could have explained it without being on her phone and sounding so condescending.

After some Yelp research, I found Coastal Cleaners and considering the rating, I just had to try it. Since I had a couple of scarves and heavy coats, it would have been such a hassle to have to carry them into a storefront. So the fact that Coastal Cleaners picks up and delivers was such a godsend. I scheduled for a Thursday before a holiday weekend and didn't have a garment bag large enough since I had just moved in. I gave them a call to see how to handle this. They delivered a garment bag the next day, which was awesome. I left the clothes with my doorman and at the beginning of the next week, the clothes were done and delivered back to me. Super convenient and reliable. Everything looks great and I can finally check this task off my to-do list. Definitely recommend!
