I opened them up and found the lettuce was yellow, wilted, and clearly not fresh. It was unappetizing enough that I couldn't finish either wrap. It seemed like the employees enjoyed the loud music and were not very mindful of the guests. I asked for it to be turned down, but it was only lowered slightly. We were also the only table eating in at the time. The açaí bowl was overly sweet and frozen on the bottom. I would prefer no added sugar beyond the honey listed in the description, but it tasted like there was added sugar in the fruit or base. I do not think this place is very healthy as I suspect very high added sugar content. The Mediterranean bread was good, but the garlic artichoke bread was very salty. I also ordered a blue lavender drink and was disappointed. The lavender was too strong and the drink did not taste balanced. Overall, I like the idea of this place, but the food, drinks, and atmosphere need improvement. It was also expensive for what we got -- almost $64 with tip for two orders of bread, two drinks, and one açaí bowl. We likely won't be returning.

We had to bring our pup to a specialty veterinarian nearby and stopped in afterward for breakfast and to get an oil change. We walked over from Sunset Chevrolet with our injured dog in a stroller, and the staff could not have been kinder. We ordered him scrambled eggs, and they surprised him with a bacon-topped pup cup. Several staff members even came out to our table to say hello and make him feel welcome. The food was fantastic. I ordered the HOBO, and it was absolutely delicious. My spouse had the pastrami sandwich, which was just as impressive. We sat outside - which is really nice - but the inside is super clean and very welcoming. The combination of exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and how they treated our dog made this an experience we'll remember. We'll definitely be making River's Edge Cafe a regular stop whenever we're in the area.
