I've been going to this jack in the box for ten years now and I don't have very many good things to say about their staff until the last couple of times. So tonite I asked the young man his name and proceeded to tell him he is the nicest person I've ever come across at this location. He thanked me and said that is the first time anyone has said that to him and then he reached out and shook my hand. The gesture was so kind & sincere . I went through the drive through at 827 Valley Ave Sumner WA 98390 at 5:56pm on 12/18/25.  Phone number 253-863-1698.  I get to the window..and she hands me the food and walks away.  I have to wait for her to come back to ask her for the sauce I want.  She hands me one and I say "can I have more than one please" .. she says that sauce doesn't come with your meal.  She insisted I had to have the sauce I didn't want that she threw in the bag that "comes with what I ordered".  I said I'll even pay for extra sauce if that's the problem or give her back the sauce flavors I didn't want that she assumed when she threw in the bag.  She refused.  She then proceeded to call me fat and was the rudest person I've ever encountered at a fast food restaurant.  Server: Claudia D.  She insisted I couldn't have the sauce I wanted..only the ones she said are assigned to the meal and refused to compromise or even attempt to solve the issue. So we really aren't fast food people but our Son (12) wanted to try Jack in the box for namesake reason so we decided to stop at the Sumner Jack in the box. Let me tell you this, the service was nothing less than spectacular. I have never been to a fast food place and been treated so nicely. The people there were friendly and kind as well as generous. I've had a business for 18 years and the supervisor there ( I believe he was the supervisor) would be an asset to any team. He was an exemplary example for the company and the fellow staff. I cannot say more. He not only made us feel special ( when does that ever happen with fast food?) but he also went out of his way to be kind to our chatty 5 year old as well. All I can say is kudos to whoever hired this guy! If I was back in business after having children I'd find a way to steal him away!!! read more

The worst Jack in the Box experience ever. I ordered food for 4 people. To include 4 fries, 2 of which were Curley fries. We pulled off and stopped to check the bags, come to find out they had forgotten 1 curley fry. They were busy, I was nice enough to pull away to check my bags, then had to get back in line behind 4 cars and wait. I let them know my bags were missing a Curley fry, they said ok pull on up. When I pull up they ask to see my receipt, hand them the receipt. Then she looks at me like I'm trying to pull a fast one and says she's going to do me a favor by giving me a large fry this time but next time it won't happen because it's not reflected on the receipt! Like I'm a liar. I did drop the f bomb, I was highly offended. I said look again! It said 2 Curley fries, only one was in the bag! Why would I wait through a long line for nothing? Waste of my time, and other food getting cold and all. Then she was offended that I said a curse word. All over a fry. Like give the missing fry, apologize for the mistake and let me go on my way. Is how it should be done. To top this off the chicken strips were disgusting! Wouldn't feed them to my dogs! Drenched in grease and looked deformed. Jack in the box, the chain, needs to find a new distributor for their chicken strips, in my opinion. I tried to return the sandwiches to the girl to get the right ones but she said to keep them and they would make two more. Then another woman came to the window and demanded I leave her window because I had gotten what I ordered!!! I pulled around to take the sandwiches back in and was first ignored for sometime until I said "Excuse me, I would like my money back for these" The same woman came over and under her breath but very audible to me said "stupid bitch" I asked again for my money back. she finally tossed it on the counter after yelling like she was on something for several minutes in front of other customers. I asked for the manager and she yelled she was the manager. She yelled at me to get out of her store or she would throw the sandwiches at me. Got burgers and fries there for our grandkids and the burgers were barely warm and quite well done around the edges. Very small patties. Look like they are about 5 per pound. Fries were crispy, but luke warm and tastes bitter. All around, definitely not worth the price. Not a good experience. Will not go there again. read more

If I could give this place a negative I would. Every time we come here and go through the drive though they ALWAYS mess up on our food. I always order a Jumbp Jack with NO cheese and a double cheeseburger plain. Every time we get our food I check it before I leave the drive through window and every time there is cheese on the jumbo jack and the double cheeseburger is not plain today when I said something the girl at the window asked me why it matters. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. We waited behind ONE car for 20 minutes. Finally got to the window and the girl didn't even greet us, didn't apologize for the wait, didn't offer any compensation for the delay, nothing. She also got our order completely wrong and we had to walk her through everything we ordered. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had from any fast food place or restaurant. If I could give negative 10 stars I would. Customer service is trash, common sense and respect is non-existent. I understand the staff is young and it's probably their first job, but management is really slipping with training them properly and running the restaurant as a whole.
