Love paying $9 for one piece of turkey and half a handful of lettuce.
Kaiti K.

Usually love Jimmy John's but obviously not today. One piece of turkey and half a handful of lettuce? About an inch of mayo to bite into. Come on now.

Panera Bread - Fuji Apple Chicken Salad & Autumn Squash Soup You Pick 2

Name just called, so 49 minutes of waiting. I've been in before- back during the bread shortage of December '25 when the bread truck broke down. 3 staff and only soup available. The manager and staff were incredible during the bread shortage. Steady but sure in pace. Recognizing that people may become frustrated, I was impressed by the manager, who offered me a cookie! Tonight? No manager that I could see. Well, it's snowing, so maybe everyone has "go slow because there's snow", but I doubt it. It's Wisconsin. We're used to snow. The ambience, I can describe, is watching slow motion in action. I've got to give some credit for credit's sake. It's difficult to manage and sustain the ability to move this slowly. When in house eaters have finished their dinners and ask me, as they walk to the doors, if I'm still waiting, one knows it's something to behold. It really is quite something to watch! With a turnover rate of less than 3 months for the average worker, it must be something of a requirement for those who like to snicker. I definitely recommend this restaurant for individuals who wish to enhance their ability for patience and calm in a chain known to be faster than a 5 star restaurant -but only by a small margin. Overall, I'll continue eating here because I like to be gouged on the price of soup and because I'm too lazy to cook. Plus, I've gotta admit it's great therapy; enhancing one's calm. Oh, no, they forgot my cookie!

So I walk into Panera, ready for a quick bite, thinking, "How long can it really take to make a…read moresalad?" Well, apparently, the answer is ONE HOUR. Yep, I stood there for a full 60 minutes, first in line, feeling like the star of a slow-motion movie. Meanwhile, people who showed up after me were happily munching away like it was a drive-thru on fast-forward. Now, enter Sophia, (she needs to be fired) the staff member who clearly missed her calling as an eye-rolling champion. Every time I glanced her way, she gave me the kind of look that said, "Why are you even here?" But wait, it gets better--she then proceeded to chat about me with her coworkers like I was some kind of exotic creature in a zoo. I half expected her to start taking bets on how long I'd stay in line. Spoiler alert: I stayed way longer than any sane person should. By the time I finally got my food, it was so cold it could've been used as an ice pack. So if you want a meal served with a side of sass and a masterclass in slow service, Panera's got you covered. Just bring a book, a sleeping bag, and maybe a snack--because you're gonna be there a while.

Scooter's Coffee - Outside shot of Scooter's! Pouring rain on the 4th of July!

It was pouring rain outside today with it being the 4th of July, but that didn't stop me from wanting to try Scooter's Coffee! I kept thinking about this place after I saw it yesterday, and couldn't wait any longer, and if you can get me out in the rain, than you know I was really interested! It's a bit of a jaunt from where we live, so I'm not sure with how gas prices are today if we would make it there as often as we do Dunkin's since it's literally around the corner from us. I ordered a large Cold Brew Coffee, and my husband wanted his usual straight up black coffee. The employees were really friendly at from the beginning of telling them I had an order, to getting my order at the window. The building is really nice on the outside, and someday it would be nice to go in and check it out. You will see pictures of it before I added my own sugar free creamer, which is white chocolate mocha! I did have them add sugar free vanilla to my coffee. I must say, the coffee is really good! I like it better than Dunkin's...shhhhh.. don't tell them! It just has a really good earthy amazing roasting taste to it that I can't describe. My husband "was" a diehard Dunkin's guy, but he loves his coffee from Scooter's so much that he has me looking up to see if they have beans or coffee grounds to make at home, lol.. I will say however, the price is kinda steep for what you get. I will have a comparison photo between a large Dunkin's and Scooter's so you can see how much bigger Dunkin's large is then Scooter's. I don't like that it is higher at Scooter's and not close to the same size you would get at Dunkin's and it's cheaper...bummer! The Scooter's app is really easy to use and is a really sleek design, so bravo to whoever designed it! I will say, have nutritional facts for all of your items and not just the blenders. If you have them, it can't be easily seen. Also, I wasn't aware of the rewards program "Smiles" that you have and the girl at the window didn't tell me about it. For promotional purposes and being a new store, this needs to be mentioned so people are aware! Overall, I love this coffee and of course we definitely will add it to our arsenal of coffee indulgences! My mom is visiting from Indiana and we literally just talked about how she loves this mango drink she gets where she lives, but doesn't like the creamy smoothies, but I told her usually non creamy is more of a slushes or iced drink. Low and behold, when I looked at the Scooter's app, there is a Fruit n Ice category, and mango is one of the flavors! She's excited now after I told her I'd take her there to try it out, lol! A great product you have, Scooter's Coffee! See you again soon!

I saw that some of the staff are also the banquet room staff which was a very pleasant surprise, and they know how to cook both big meals and small. The room is nice with bar seating and lots of tables for groups. There is a large double sided fireplace. This staff, from the manager to each bartender, and I was there for 4 days, so I saw them all - is among the best I've ever seen at a place like this. All were pros at what they do. The prices were surprisingly low. You can get a good meal and have a great place to unwind after a long day at a convention. I hope I get to come back here for another few days. Nothing I read in any of the low rated reviews turned out to be true, in fact it's the opposite. The whole place has new management for 2019 and they really know how to treat you well. The selection of local beer was pretty good, as I said Ben Glarus was my favorite, but I tried them all and they are all good. They are also cold from the tap, I like them on the colder side. That extra degree of coldness makes a small difference to me.

During that time, I watched the cash register guy handle cash, roll dough, pull a cooked pizza out/package it. The coworker did this the entire 45 minutes I was in the store and never washed their hands. Also while waiting, the other guests and I were honored to watch an episode of domino's pizza Hell's Kitchen edition. The worker swore and belittled each other as I watched them put my pizza into a warmer. When I asked them for my pizza... they only checked the other warmer and told me my pizza was not done. I then watched another worker take my pizza and put it into a carry out bag. The worker then took my pizzas outside for approximately five minutes. Shortly after, the worker came back in and slammed down his carry out bag onto the table, with my pizza inside. The worker then cussed out his coworkers for giving them the wrong pizza. After waiting I was blessed to obtain my pizza. Unfortunately this was short lived because I spent the whole night near the bathroom because I got extremely sick... from the pizza. I did file a complaint and spoke with a manager. I was offered a $25 in store credit, however, I turned it down. We will not be going back to Domino's for quite sometime.
