BUYER BEWARE! No star to be exact. I had an extremely unsatisfactory experience at this location today. Overall, it took over 30 minutes to get my order of two simple sandwiches to-go and the Manager, Nia, was unprofessional and not helpful, and because they kept getting my order wrong. Gentleman 1 took my order (#9 - Italian Night Club, not toasted, cut in half, add cucumbers, hot peppers and kickin ranch, $6.99 Reward Toasted Ultimate Italian, add cucumbers, hot peppers and kickin ranch). However, while I was ordering, Nia interrupted and tried to correct gentleman 1 with regards to the $6.99 reward toast sandwich, which gentleman 1 and I were fully aware which sandwiches to choose from the reward deal because it says specifically on the detail. Then, I noticed my order was taking 30 mins long and three other customers behind me had their orders already. I asked if my order was missed and Nia interjected while holding out a long salami and said we still have to cut more salami. So I waited again and saw my name on the sandwich and I asked gentleman 2 if that was mine and if I can check inside as I ordered at this store before and got my order wrong. Gentleman 2 said yes and I noticed there were alot of ingredients missing. Nia then interrupted and said that's not my sandwich and gentleman 2 said it's hers. Gentleman 2 said he'll remake it. Not feeling totally confident at this point, I had to repeat my order to them over again and again while making the sandwiches. Additionally, they didn't cut one of my sandwiches as asked when ordering. No apologies and any compensation offered for messing up my order and waiting for a long time. DEFINITELY NOT COMING BACK! They may get some customers from Home Depot or the skate park, but its not worth it. Every time I go in, something either isn't working (the computer link to pay by credit card) or they're out of something (its a food place - how can you be out of your main product), or they have 1 guy working and it takes 10 minutes to make a small sandwich - when NO ONE ELSE is in the place? Online order. I don't eat here regularly, if ever but was in a pinch. They have a lettuce wrap option, which let's be real, usually is a bit of a soggy mess that you can't actually hold. While the front staff didn't look to be loving life, my meal was exceptional. Lettuce wrap sandwhich you can Actually hold?! Definitely a first. Everything was fresh, order exactly right. Jimmy John"s is strangely my favorite fast food Sandwich place. Im embarrassed to admit, but I've had Jimmy Johns too many times to count since they are great for a quick sandwich. But this Lake forest location is the worst, getting worse by the week and will NEVER go back. Last week they forgot the turkey in my son's turkey sandwich, that's like leaving McDonald's with no patty in the burger. Who does this? I complained online and they sent me a free sandwich reward. Kids wanted it again this week and I had a free sub coupon, so I said begrudgingly ok, let's give them one more shot. This time I ordered a lettuce wrap, they call it the Unwich, which I have had many times. Usually it's neatly wrapped in the same shape as their sandwiches with bread. OMG, it came out like a dirty lettuce mess. I will attach pics, but it looked like a kindergarten first time making a salad project mess. Needless to say, I tossed it in the trash. Absolutely awful experience. Waited 15 minutes for someone to even start taking orders from the people in line. There was a customer on the phone that they couldn't figure out. Two people making sandwiches but do not take orders. Once she started taking orders, the person was clearly not in the right state of mind. Finally ordered. 20 minutes later and we still don't have sandwiches. They are now telling people it will be 20 minutes BUT that was not told to us. So now we wait for our $15 per person sandwiches... No acknowledgment of any delay, no apologies that we even exist. Just can't understand how service could be this poor with no communication. My favorite sub sandwich chain, period. I don't know what it is about Jimmy John's that makes their sandwiches so tasty but whatever it is, they have IT. Their strength is in the simplicity of a solid sub. You know a sandwich is good when it is STILL delicious when it isn't dressed up and drowning in a sea of sauces, oils, vinegars, etc. I've ordered the catering boxes from here many times and have tried nearly all of the sandwiches off the menu. And you know it's good when you can eat it dry with zero condiments. The bread is soft but doesn't fall apart, good quality deli meats, fresh veggies, that's all it is. We waited a good 35 min for them to make more tuna salad! The phone in the rang constantly without being answered, when they did finally answer it they told customers they were out of bread although we could see there was bread! I received a call from someone replying to my previous review.... I In return called him back left him a voicemail and now after another 2 wks I still haven't received a response. I'd love to put one of my usual scathing reviews but this place actually has great food - way above places named after public transportation. But the problem here is the sequencing. I came in to order a single sandwich. It took 25 minutes - I could have almost gone to a sitdown restaurant for that wait.. I was 2nd in line. Why? Because they were filling a number of online orders. Now as a business - who are you going to focus attention on - those who order remotely - or those who have the temerity to actually go in the location? There is a very simple and scientific solution to this problem. Queue theory. Don't fill each order sequentially. If you get a large online order and one person is waiting for a small order - it takes almost the same net time for the big order to get filled if you put in one or two individual orders in the mix. Same thing goes for little Timmy's baseball team. Let the individual orders get in the mix without having to wait for 12 people. It's not hard - it does not materially affect the wait time for the larger orders but everyone can be happy. read more

When placing orders during peak lunch, and dinner times I would allow at least 40 minutes until your order is ready. If you don't mind waiting, I think you enjoy the food. My daughter ordered sandwiches online and paid for them upfront. She got a call from the store saying that they didn't have any bread and the order would not be ready for 30 minutes. We showed up about 30 minutes and the workers acknowledged we came in, but were not friendly at all. When out sandwiches were ready, the girl didn't even smile and didn't apologize that there was no bread. The least you could do is to be friendly. We will not be going back to there. read more

My first visit to a Jimmy John's left me unimpressed. I was warmly greeted when I entered this sandwich shop and the young woman at the counter was nice about offering suggestions. I ended up ordering off their "Giant Club Sandwiches" menu - The Billy Club. It consists of roast beef, smoked ham, provolone cheese, Dijon mustard, lettuce, tomato, & mayo. It was ready in less than five minutes and I took it (and a cherry Coke) to go. The sliced deli meat and other ingredients were good but all-in-all it was a dull sandwich. After a few bites I was wishing it had some mustard to give it some zing but then I remembered it DID have mustard but either it was forgotten or so meager it wasn't a flavor I could distinguish. The bread for this sub was also a disappointment - a bit on the hard side. I've certainly had better sandwiches but had worse too. So I'll rate Jimmy John's in the middle. read more
