The food is great, no doubt. Used to be great value (delivered). Ever since they opened this location 1/4 mile from my work it has been my #1 choice when I need a quick sandwich for lunch (delivered for $1 extra). The sandwiches are probably a little pricier than they need to be but they are good and delivery convenient so it was worth it. Sadly, today I needed a quick lunch but when placing the order noticed that the delivery charge has been tripled. It is now $3 to deliver from 2 minutes away. This seems unreasonable to me and i'm unwilling to spend over $15 on a sandwich, chips and a pickle. Today, I picked up my lunch. Unless delivery becomes reasonable, there are plenty of other choices in the area that are more reasonably priced and that are now equally convenient. read more

FYI do not waste your time coming to this location unless you call to make sure they are open. I came a few different times and they are closed. What business operates where I have to now call ahead to make sure they are even open. Before I waste 30mins (round trip) to come to a closed place. My two star review solely concerns the service at this location, not the food. I'm a frequent customer (5 orders in a little over a week's time). All orders were placed on the app and were picked up when the store was otherwise empty. On three separate occasions (of the last 5 orders) they have forgotten to pack all items which were paid for. It has come to the point where I now have to take inventory in the car before leaving the parking lot; if I wanted poor service like that I'd go to McDonald's. Keep in mind, these orders were made when the store was not busy. It sounds like we have a management failure as evidenced through the hiring of individuals who either do not wish to be there or are incapable of basic reading and simple arithmetic. read more

I ordered online because I have a 30 minute lunch break, and didn't want to risk there being a long line which there was. So I ordered and 20 minutes later I walk in and walk over to the pick up counter and ask him this where we pick up online orders. The guy working said that I have to wait in line. My sandwich was paid for already, but I waiting in line for what felt like 10 minutes. I would imagine that if you order online you skip the hassle of waiting in line and grab and go...not here. That was disappointing. I'm not sure if it is like this at every JJ location but this is how this one worked. I got a plain jim #5. It was satisfying. The sandwich was bigger than I thought it would be. The French bread is better than Subway's bread without a doubt. A cool thing they do is scoop bread out of the top piece of bread to cut calories. I thought that was pretty cool. I also got a pickle. It was delicious. I recommend paying the extra dollar for one. The food was good. The service was decent. I love that this store is so close & whether you walk in, or get delivery, they are *super fast* & have yet to screw up my order! Lol The bread is a carb-lovers DREAM, & we loooooove it w/the Italian Nightclub! Try the turkey one too, but skip the sprouts unless you like feelin' like you're grazing in an open field as cars drive by & their passengers are waving at you. Don't leave w/o the Thinny Chips. I started working just down the street from this location and have been here somewhere in the vicinity of 30-40 times over the past 6 months. Without exception I receive excellent service every single time. As a business owner, I have to say the manager Jon is pretty much a model employee...he really seems to care about the store, the food, and most of all the customers. As I am writing this he is at the counter giving a first time customer a guided tour of every item on the menu. Will and Gabe also always have a smile and make a brother feel welcome. This place is a welcome respite from the grind of my shop. It is unreal how fast these guys bang out a sandwich, and the sandwiches here are pretty damn good to boot. I was kind of surprised to not see 5 stars pop up so read some reviews below...are people actually disgruntled that their pickle wasn't sliced with Excalibur by Arthur himself? I wish I could give 0 stars.. Lets begin... Finally something new in Irwindale. Walked in and the place was pretty packed. Go to order the #12 beach club and the cashier asks what kind of chips I would like and he recommends the salt and vinegar flavor so I grab those and we puts a cup on the counter for my drink. This whole time he is also training about 6 other people at the register. When I first walked in I thought $7.99 for a 8" sandwich was a little steep but then if it came with chips and a drink that is pretty good being that I hate subway and love sandwiches I would def. be coming back. The cashier then says it that all and I hand him my card. I get my receipt and the total was $12.73!!!!!!! The chips were $1.50 and of course the cashier chose the largest drink for me which was $2.19. He even tried to get me a try one of their famous pickles. Never once did the cashier say would you like to add chips and a drink to your order!!!!! He made it seem like all this was included by asking "and what type of chips would you like today" and just putting the drink cup on the counter. $13 for a bag of chips a drink and a sandwich is ridiculous!!!!! I can go to a restaurant and have a nice sit down lunch for that. Not really much to say about the sandwich either. The lettuce was wilted, hardly any meat on it and the guacamole was terrible and seam like it was some powder form. The best thing about the sandwich was the bread and that's about it. Not that it matters about the service of this location.. But after looking up jimmy john, apparently he loves to kill things. I am not against the sport of hunting and using the animal for food as well as a trophy but the owner loves to hunt exotic animals that you would never eat the meat and kills just for the enjoyment. He posts photos of killing elephants, leopards and bears which I think is pretty messed up. I am no vegan or tree huger but were do we draw the line of hunting and killing just to kill? 4 stars for the sandwich, 0 stars for the value averages to two stars. I'm not going to lie, I liked the roast beef sandwich. It was simple, and tasted pretty good. However, $9.18 for a basic sandwich and a small soft drink (no chips) is simply unreasonable for the quantity of food being offered. A combo with chips and a drink at $7 or $7.50 would be about right. I think they're going to need to figure out a way to offer coupons to keep the local business patrons coming in here. I'm going to start off by saying I've loved Jimmy Johns sandwiches for years. Yes, they're more expensive than Subway or Quiznos, but in my opinion they taste a lot better. I was thrilled when JJ launched in California and even more excited when this location opened up just minutes from my office. JJ offers free delivery and ordering is easy through their iPhone app. I've only visited this physical location once, mostly I get the sandwiches delivered and the delivery is lightning quick. They make good sandwiches, but nothing incredibly special to write home about or something I'd crave. And a bit pricey for a sandwich. On the upside, the ingredients have always tasted fresh when I've gone. The #13 gourmet veggie is really tasty (lots of avocado, so obviously delicious). I also like #11, the country club. I recently ordered a lettuce-wrapped sandwich (#11, bread less with extra lettuce, no mayo, extra tomatoes, and cucumbers) that was SO incredibly wet that all the water and juices pooled at the bottom of the paper-wrapper. When I got to the bottom of the burrito-wrapped sandwich, peeling back the paper, all the liquid spilled out all over my dress. I understand that when you wrap a sandwich in fresh lettuce, it's going to be a bit wet...but that was just too wet. I guess I should just be happy they wash their lettuce well. This particular location was packed at lunchtime and the line was to the door. Also, they don't have sprouts at this location (even though they have it on their website for other locations), which bums me out because I enjoy sprouts in my sandwich. I ordered a catering platter for a pot luck I was having at work. This was the first time ever trying Jimmy John's and all I can say it was delicious. The subs were fresh and the taste was so good. Not going to lie I was a little skeptical thought it was going to taste like Subway but it didn't. It's my 3rd time in a week since I discovered Jimmy Johns a week ago. The last two times, I came to this location. The first time I came was on Sunday and I ordered it on the phone and a young guy took my order and had it for me when I arrived. Everything is cool. Yesterday I invited my brother and so we went. We got there and it was a female manager who wears glasses and two young guys with her that she was training. Man oh man did i feel bad for those two guys. She was condescending and demeaning as she ordered these guys around. She used words like "common sense" and would make comments to make it seem like these guys were making all the wrong choices. She made ME feel uncomforable. I'm gonna look for a different location to dine and I hope these guys start looking for a new job because having this girl as a manager will not be a pleasant experience. The sandwiches are good, but she made the ones we ate and you could taste the dissatisfaction in these sandwiches. They were made with resentment and without joy. I have ordered over the phone delivery 4-5 times and carried out once including the grand opening. I would give them a five star for the great customer service, speedy delivery, and extremely tasty sandwiches on the grand opening day. Tthe food has been consistently awesome. Me and my wife have ordered a pretty good variety of sandwiches on the menu. The meat and veggie ratio is perfect along with those Hot Peppers (which I add on pretty much every sandwich). Way better than any Subway sandwich. The pickle is great too! The price of the subs along with delivery is pretty steep, but the food is worth it. However the 3 stars, are due to the customer service which has greatly declined each time I've ordered in one way or another. There has been a different cashier each time I call and they seem to be new hires each time. The last time I ordered was the worst though; The girl who answered, got my name and address and said they wouldn't be able to deliver, which I retorted with , "You have delivered to my house before..." she placed me on hold and then returned stating she was able to find me in the "system". The music was playing so loud the cashier said, no wait, yelled out my credit card number over the phone. SO EVERYONE COULD HEAR! at least 6 times along with my address , cause she couldn't hear me... anyways she even asked that the music be lowered and it wasn't, so I can't totally blame her, but I don't want to worry that someone has my card info & address... Stopped by today because I love the jimmy Johns in the high desert(Apple Valley) they have great customer service an their food is great BUT this location does not compare, their Customer service is below average. I ordered a turkey tom with sprouts and the cashier said "we don not have sprouts at this location" then I ordered a side of hot peppers and he said "we don't give extra peppers because we don't have containers" with no sort of apology or smile.
