These sandwiches are delicious! There is no doubt about it. If you have ever had a Blimpies Sandwich, it tastes most like that. These sandwiches will put Subways Sandwiches to utter shame. The bread is fresh, the meat is good quality. The place is clean, and the service is quick. Now having given all that praise I will explain why the paltry three star rating. This place isn't for the budget conscious. They nickel and dime their patrons shamelessly! The sandwiches start around four dollars and end around nine bucks. These are not foot longs or stuffed with meats either. Each sandwich is the same size. They charge .25 cents for a simple cup of iced water, and the combos are not reasonably priced either. Cheese is an additional charge. There are no specials of the day, no frequent buyer benefits. No discounts of any type... Not even a cup of tap water is free. They joke about how cheap they are with a neon sign that reads "free smells," or something to that effect. Based on the complete absence of customer incentives, I am guessing this chain does not value their customers. This amuses me, because I can recall many businesses that once displayed similar attitudes towards their patrons. Most of them are no longer around.

I finally stopped at JJ's for lunch and boy, oh boy, was I not disappointed. After reviewing the sandwich options, I ordered #12 Beach Club (fresh baked turkey breast, provolone cheese, avocado spread, sliced cucumber, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and mayo). The sandwich was absolutely, positively delicious. I also had the JJ's Thinny Chips which are 40% less fat than regular chips, no trans fats and no cholesterol along with some sweet teat. The chips were also fabulous but the tea was, well, I will get something else the next time. I was very pleased with my meal and now, I cannot wait to go back over towards Concord Mills with an empty stomach. My apologies, I ate the sandwich before thinking about capturing a photo. It was that good! JJ's has a drive through window which was quite busy, but the service was really fast, and they have delivery as well.

We originally ordered the Brooklyn and the Godfather to go, but while we were waiting the smell alone convinced us to stay, and we seriously devoured both. Easily some of the best sandwiches we've ever had. Truly felt like a slice of New York tucked right into Concord, NC. We'll definitely be back to try dessert and grab one of their pre-prepared pastas for dinner. And on your way out, don't miss the little mint patty gumball-style machine by the door. Such a nostalgic touch and honestly the cutest detail. took a photo for my momma! Highly, highly recommend.

The food here is almost better than most of the Italian spots I'm accustomed to in Brooklyn. I ordered the chicken parm hero and meatball parm hero. Both were excellent! The sauce was freshly made with simple ingredients that were clearly high quality. The bread was crispy and warm authentically Italian (covered in sesame seeds the way I love) Best of all they have a small "Mercato" with carefully selected items imported from Italy. I was surprised and excited to find some of my favorite Italian cookies, breadsticks and chocolates. They even carry Italian beverages & wine. But best of all they have several prepared frozen meals like Lasagna, eggplant Parmesan and other favorites. They also had sauces and cheeses and pasta. The pastry case was filed with Italian staples like cannolis. If you're looking for a purveyor of authentic Italian items in Concord, this is definitely the spot! They have a nice outdoor dining area and a small area inside as well.

Say no more! I was on my way. Leo's is nestled in a strip mall adjacent to the Walmart in Concord and has plenty of parking. They are a pick-up and go establishment; there are no tables inside. Customer service is A+, super friendly, very helpful, and willing to tell you all about their selections, which is good because they are made from scratch and tend to change. Follow them on Instagram where they post what is on the menu for each day. They have a pastry/baked goods counter where they have cinnamon roll cheesecake, strawberry tres leches, as well as classics like tiramisu and cannolis, and an array of fresh baked breads. On the opposite wall of the counter, they have freezers with take-and-bake dinners in oven-safe containers. I think I even saw containers of clam sauce that you can add to your pasta dishes. There was a lot in there, and I wish I had spent more time looking through it, but I didn't want to keep the freezers open for too long. It would probably help to have them listed somewhere where we could read through it. I'm glad I found Leo's. Those cheese steak eggrolls were AMAZING!

On a previous…read morevisit to the Concord/Charlotte area, we found The Smoke Pit when searching online for a good barbeque spot near our location. Since they are in the same building, we also discovered The Stock Market. We love the restaurant so much and returned on this trip to the area, so we also made a return trip to the butcher shop this time around. The Stock Market is located on Concord Parkway, just a few minutes off of 85. It is in its own building that is half restaurant and half meat market, but all the same entity. There is plenty of parking in front and on the side of the building. However, it seems to fill up with all of the patrons coming and going! You will have no issue locating the place, as it is clearly marked with signage. Just note that the hours for the store differ from the restaurant, with the store closing earlier. We stopped here just after 5:00 PM, and it was not terribly busy. There is usually a lot of action in the area due to the restaurant, but the market portion has never been overwhelmingly crowded when I have visited. There is a lot of signage to direct and instruct patrons to the correct side of the building for the market. After you enter on the right side of the building, you walk right into the store. This shop is definitely a true butcher shop. There are so many different types and cuts of meat. Fresh, frozen, shelf-stable, and more varieties await you. There are other select grocery items, but you would not be able to complete all of your typical grocery shopping at this one store. They also sell bones and specific items for dogs. We bought our dog a bone, and he loved it! As stated, there are fresh and frozen meat options available. The selection is great, and you are able to find a lot of different types and cuts not typically available in a traditional grocery store. Most of the meat seems to be prepared in-house, but there are also some name-brand items throughout (such as for sausage). There are a lot of options already on the shelves, but I would assume if you were looking for something specific that it could be cut and packaged right there. In the back, there is a fresh meat counter where you can pick your exact weight and have it packed right there. A deli counter is beside it, offering lunch meats and cheeses. It did not look like they produce their own lunch meats, but it is an option if you are in the store. There were also some hot, ready-to-eat items in this area too. There are signs hanging advertising the different bundles that you can buy. There is a Chicken Bundle, Beef Bundle, and Pork Bundle, which all contain 5 different varieties of the respective meat. The total weight is around 25 pounds per bundle. The Variety Bundle allows you to mix and match 5 different types of meat, each in 5 pound increments. This would be a nice way to try different types and cuts of meat or to stock up your freezer. The prices here are decent and comparable to any other meat store. They had a deal on select packages that you could mix and match to get 5 packages for $29.99, presumably presenting some savings. There was also a discount freezer in the rear of the store with items marked down to half off. Though, for the quality of meat and vast selection, the prices here are not too bad. Each time I have visited the store, the staff has been kind and helpful. There are cashiers up front, as well as deli and counter staff in the back ready to serve the customers coming in. We have enjoyed stopping into The Stock Market when we find ourselves eating at The Smoke Pit. It is a nice butcher shop with a good amount of variety and fresh items. The prices are fair, and all of the staff is friendly. Would recommend giving this spot a try if you are local to the area!

Attached next to their bbq joint is this butcher shop with a wide range of meat, seafood and bulk frozen foods. They have everything from gizzards, livers, feet to traditional cuts.
