Im not a regular of JJ but do love their sandwiches. Today, I was helped by Bahman. He welcomed me in and took my order, even made a suggestion of bacon on my sandwich and said the sub was great toasted, so i took his suggestions and I had a wonderful lunch. I know most don't think much about this but next time you go to a fast food restaurant I want you to see how many times they say "is that it"? or "anything else"? Tried to order the JJ garg. This is the second time I tried this order at this location. The problem is that they gave less meat than what is give at other locations in Austin. I order the Tuna sub, it was very delicious only problem was the submarine buns it was sort of hard. I heard that the best time to buy a fresh sub at Jimmy John's is around lunch time when everything bun is freshly baked . I enjoyed the cookies are all natural by Jimmy John's it doesn't seem like a fast food type of cookies. Made with real butter, eggs, real vanilla oh "yea sort of a business that seems more like a franchise than a mom and pop establishment. So my next visit I be sure to order other at subs on the menu like the Giant Club Sandwiches, The Slims even the Guargantuan. Placed an order that included 1 sandwich and a bag of chips... NOT HARD, right? Order took over 50 minutes to get to me! I called and they said they were busy and short handed and that I should of called to confirm how long it was going to take!! NOT - you advertise Speedy service. Busy shotgun-layout Jimmy John's in a posh area of Westlake. Pros: + Lots of staff. At least 8 sandwich assemblers, two order takers, and three drivers ready-to-go (no idea how many were on-the-road) + Courteous service. As compared to the JJ's on Red River, which can have surly if not downright unpleasant order takers if you don't walk in chanting the menu mantra, these guys were pretty laid back. + Relatively fast. I didn't "freak" per their slogan, but I was in and out in under 5 minutes during the lunch hour, and they were busy as ants with orders. + Clean. Even though it was the peak of the lunch hour, the restaurant seemed well-kept and spotless. + As is the Jimmy John's hallmark, always fantastic French bread. Cons: - This shopping center sucks major goat balls when it comes to parking, and Jimmy only has two dedicated parking spaces. Yes, I know they have complimentary valet parking, but it is antithetical to go to Jimmy John's and have your car valet parked. Not entirely JJ's fault that the parking situation is egregious, but figuring out that angle when you're an in-and-out fast food franchise is part of the business decision when choosing location, location, location. Minus 1 star. - The sandwiches (both Slims) longed to channel Clara Peller. This is the first time I ordered Slims at any JJ's location ("slims" have no veggies or sauce) and certainly the first time at this store, but the meat between the buns did not satisfy. My typical experience is at the San Marcos location and the sandwiches are usually plump, albeit fully dressed. It was enough of a disappointment to demerit another star . The sandwiches didn't really seem worth $3.50 each, and I honestly get more value from the equivalent $4.00 Skinny at Potbelly. Will I be back? Yes, if in the area, but I won't go out of my way to get here. Too bad their service-delivery area doesn't extend far enough South to reach me. Fresh, homemade French bread and fresh deli meats. None of the sandwiches are hot, FYI. "Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night." same sign... refreshingly inappropriate in a food joint. Not much seating. Music was loud and not my style. After I asked, "Who chooses the music here?", the dude behind the counter said, "The last manager on-duty. We are just listening to his pick on Pandora.com." I thought, "His taste in music really sucks -for me that is- because I have to listen to it, " but instead I actually bit my tongue, looked at him straight in the eyes, and tried a more Pandora appropriate, diplomatic approach, "What is that, some on line metal-head surprise box of bats that bite your head off?" Amazingly, the music immediately improved immensely. Jimmy Johns is pretty good. They deliver at my office, so that's a huge plus and they are very quick about delivery. Their sandwiches are decent and I love their Thinny Chips. My only REAL complaint....they never like to CUT their sandwiches, even when you ask for it :( read more

I have never nor will never find such a wonderful place as any Jimmy Johns...Jimmy John, please move to 78744 or even Kyle or Buda...... Anyway, every sub I have had from just veggies to meat of any kind, has all been wonderful!! Nobody I know has ever gotten ill from this food, they use quality products, and I love that their gimmick is that they market themselves as gourmet even though we all know that they are not. I have always liked EVERY staff member, too! This place is highly underrated, and wish everyone could try a JJ's who has not tried one because they will get hooked for sure!! I love the funny names of the sandwiches too......all at unbeatable prices~!! LOVE IT!!! Watch it in this location, though, because parking is just wierd, watch for the big dip/hill in the lot.....it is all good and worth it though! :) They are open very late, too!! The Vito is my sandwich of choice and it always taste great. This location is super fast. Last time I went in I was in and out in 5 minutes, which is awesome when you are in a hurry. The parking situation here is terrible! If you come during lunch expect to drive around for a spot, or just park to the west of The Grove in the first place and walk over to Jimmy John's. They do deliver check if you are in the vicinity. Remember to grab a loaf of day old bread for $0.40. Makes great Garlic Bread. read more

I just visited Jimmy Johns for the first time after wanting to visit for a while now. I had the Hunters Club on their freshly baked wheat bread (1/4 pound of fresh sliced medium rare roast beef, provolone, lettuce, tomato, & mayo.) I usually opt for wheat bread on any sammy but this wheat bread was perfect. I had them hold the may and add guacamole spread as I do this at home and love it! The sammy was ready almost before I could fill up my drink! This sandwich was absolutely delicious and very nice sized! I did manage to finish the whole thing but only because it made me. The music was too loud and the associates were more concerned with cleaning the restaurant than helping customers. Jimmy John's sandwiches are really good, cheap and consistently delicious. I dig the spicy peppers they add and I think the "Vito" is one of the best fast-food sammys around. Why am I giving this spot only 2 stars? Because I had to drive to frikin' Subway to get my lunch on! I got here at 12:15pm and there were NO parking spots available. As a whole, I like Jimmy John's. I think their sandwiches are tasty, though not awe-inspiring. (I prefer Thundercloud if I have a choice!!) That being said, I hate this location. I work very close to this shopping center, and avoid it like the PLAGUE at lunch. There is absolutely no parking. NONE. I must have had a temporary memory lapse today when I headed out for lunch and said "Hey, I'll grab JJ, It'll be quick!". I couldn't find parking anywhere. Probably the worst JJs ever. Unfortunately, since it's close to work, we order there frequently. Most of the time they forget that I don't want tomatoes on my sandwich, and they often forget that my order says "slice bread in half," but I'll let that slide. Today, my order (#119101206) is now over an hour late. I called 10 minutes ago and they said they're behind today and short drivers. This isn't the first time it has taken more than 45 minutes to deliver sandwiches. Lots of people here have complaints that this JJs is awful, and they're correct. read more

Several people in my office order online here regularly, so when my lunch hour ran late today, I gave it a try. I placed my online order at 1:43pm - seemingly well after the lunch rush. At 2:45pm I called the store because my sandwich had not arrived. No answer. I called again at 2:55pm, and let it ring for 1 full minute. No answer. I called again at 3:05, phone was answered, the employee looked up my order, which had not been made yet. He explained that he just arrived at work, that the shop had gotten busy today, but that he's get it made and delivered. My sandwich finally arrived at 3:38pm. No discount. No apology. Jimmy John's has really missed the mark on this location. 1. There is NO parking!! Ugh. I drove aroung this tiny lot for 10 minutes and finally gave up and parked in the fire lane to run in and pick up the large group order that I placed on the web. 2. Got back to the office only to find the order is WRONG. When I called to tell them, they say I have to go back and they'll make me another sandwich. Oh right! Like I want to go through that parking lot hell again!? Who makes a sandwich with just bread and a couple pieces of turkey?? Nothing else. Where is the cheese and avocado that I paid for? Not to mention the turkey has a "gamey" taste as though it's been sitting out overnight - stale. 3. My office is only 4 miles from them, yet they won't deliver a new sandwich. I'm done with them. There are some great small, independent sandwich shops in the area. Next time my office wants sandwiches, we'll go to one of those places. Jimmy Johns is a bit of a weekly event for me. This location happens to be very close to my office and it is very convenient to order and have a sammy in my hands in 7-8 minutes. However, unlike my old favorite location on MLK, this one seems even more busy and it shows in their sammys. The 7-Grain bread is somewhat inconsistent at times and so is the condiment additions. Also, it seems if I do order the Giant Club sandwich, unless I specify 7-Grain bread it comes as a sub. Doesn't make sense to me, so occasionally when I am in a hurry I forget and end up with sub unintentionally. All that aside, overall it's a great alternative to me bringing my own lunch to work. read more

We are very limited on places to eat around our work. This area doesn't offer to wide a variety so this is a staple on our diet lol The staff, super friendly and helpful, ALWAYS! I usually eat the beach club and am very happy with it each time. Always great food and fresh veggies. Never a long wait even with big crowds at lunch. I went in a couple weeks ago, ordered a Slim 5, no cap (since I don't care for the spicy meat). By the time I paid, the sandwich was done and handed to me. When I got back to my office, I discovered that not only was there no "cap" on it, they also left off the cheese! I was therefore left with a sandwich that only had a couple pieces of salami on it. Really??? Then, this past Wednesday we had a working lunch at the office, and I placed an online order for delivery. We had 3 sandwiches and 3 cookies, totaling about $25. I added a $5 tip. My order was the Slim 5, and because of my previous experience, didn't ask for anything to be left off (I figured I would just remove it myself which I did). I asked that the sandwich be cut in half, and requested mayo packets. The order arrived in the requested delivery time. However, my sandwich wasn't cut in half, and there was no mayo. We don't have a sharp knife at the office, and I can't eat the whole thing. I had to try and saw my way through the sandwich with a plastic knife. In addition, the sandwiches were "sweaty" and on the verge of being warm. Sigh. This is very disappointing. I really like JJs, and go to the San Marcos one quite a bit. They have yet to screw anything up. This is now 2 unsatisfactory visits to this JJs. Very unfortunate since they are so close to work. I don't think I will go there again. read more

Used to not like Jimmy John's when I first tried it years back. When this location opened I tried it again. The atmosphere isn't anything special and the signage is dumb. Freakishly fast? I could have made my own bread in the time it took to get our sandwiches. It's Sunday night, we live 3.9 miles away. Ordered at 8:15 pm. It's now 9:20. No phone call, I had to call them. Next time I'll order pizza, or make my own, it's quicker Update: Food showed up at 9:35PM. Cold with soggy bread. I sent an email to the manager. He called and informed me we were out of their delivery area. Shouldn't that have been mentioned when I called. I've been in this location countless times but had a terrible experience today. Ordered my normal (turkey tom) to go and drove back to the office. To my surprise when I opened my sandwich there was mayo, lettuce & tomato but know Turkey. When I called the location and explained what happened the manager actually laughed about the whole thing and said he had new folks (they definitely we're slower than normal) and he should probably watch them more closely. He finally asked me if I was coming back by. I told him I'm at my office and didn't feel like getting back out. He asked where my office was and then promptly told me he couldn't deliver even though I know they've delivered to our office before. Reluctantly he offered me a free sub on my next visit. I have heard excellent things about Jimmy John's so my husband and I decided to try it this evening. The food was okay- fresh, a decent sandwich but the customer service was horrendous. We thought maybe the girl was rude on a fluke but nope! (I requested cucumbers on the side and she rudely just said i couldn't get them on the side....uhhhh okay. Maybe offer an explanation as to why?? If Subway and Thundercloud can do it why can't they??) Another customer came in and ordered a combo with an up sized drink. She gave him a regular size cup. When he brought it to her attention instead of apologizing and offering a large cup she argued with him. So much for the customer always being right theory. Jimmy John's makes consistently good sandwiches that are tasty and filling. I like them better than most other sandwich/sub shops in town because of the thick-cut whole wheat bread that the club sandwiches are made with. The roast beef sandwich (Hunter's Club #10) is one of my favorites because they load the sandwich up with a healthy amount of medium rare roast beef. The bread for their 8" subs is also fresh and delicious. At $4.50 for sub sandwiches and $5.50 for big club sandwiches, Jimmy John's is a great option when you're looking to grab some good food fast without breaking the bank. read more

I like Jimmy Johns in general, and this is exactly the same as all of them. Young, cheerful men who greet you and make eye contact, decent music, standard sandwich, and scant seating. The parking is so dreadful as to make me wish to avoid this location however, and there are very aggressive west lake drivers in the lot. read more

The only thing good about this place is the price and bread. you can get a cold cut sub for under $5 after tax and the freshly made french bread is really tasty. however, there isn't much else to get excited about as the sandwiches have lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, mayo, and a choice of thin meat (one layer). The sandwiches and service here are first rate. The Jimmy John Gargantuan with pickled peppers is probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The food comes out extremely fast and the eating area is clean and well maintained. The only problem with this JJ location is the parking is an absolute nightmare. Come anywhere near lunch hour and you can pretty much guarantee yourself not finding a spot. Half of the spaces in the lot are for valet or have reserved signs for each retail store that aren't Jimmy John's. The open spaces themselves are tiny so people pretty much park all over the place where they can. Fire lanes, curbs, double parking, in the dirt, etc. It makes getting in and out of here a complete waste of your lunch hour. Other than that we love this place. read more

My coworkers and I rarely have time to leave the office so we order from Jimmy John's often, as we did today. I always get the vegetarian sandwich and love it. It is always fresh and they deliver within 15 minutes MAX, that includes the 5 minute drive from their store to our office.
