as a loyal jimmy John's customer I have to say the location at tech ridge has the worse customer service . As a tech that out and about all over Austin I go to every jimmy johns in town. i understand restrioms are for customers only and as someone wirkingalways working with my hands I like to wash my hands first and then order and eat. Customer service and logic/reason is nonexistent at this location. Most JJ.s are okay, this one takes the cake as the worst I've ever been in, and this last visit is literally my last visit. I'd left a meeting where I'd shook many hands and lifted some dusty boxes, so I wanted to wash my hands before I ordered. When I saw the bathroom door had a combination lock, I returned to the counter to ask for the code. A short man with a beard and manbun told me I'd have to order first then I could wash my hands. I asked why I can't wash them first and he said, "because they've had a lot of problem with homeless people using the bathroom". I was shocked at this reply since I was wearing my Fortune 100 company dress shirt, I'm clean shaven and I'd have the be the best smelling homeless person he'd ever have met......so I asked again and said "do I look homeless or unable to pay for what I order" and he again repeated he could give me the code after I ordered. I said, "then I'll simply go next door" to which he replied, "you have that right". WOW, I've never had someone be so blatantly rude and possess absolutely no ability to use logic or reason. Well JJ, if your manager/owner reads this, they need to do some serious training for staff on customer service because it does not exist at this location. I did leave, went next door to Freebirds where I heard "welcome in" and I asked if I could wash my hands before I ordered, and was kindly and promptly given the bathroom door code. I've never had Jimmy John's before and really wanted to try it. My son eats it all the time. So I drove ten minutes out of my way to get one. I also had just picked my grandson up from daycare and needed to make it quick as he was nearing his nap time. So I arrived and told the person I had never been there before. Wasn't sure how the ordering process went. Tried to order a build your own. They snapped back at me saying you have to order a # then modify it! OK, so I did. Then tried to pay with a fifty as that's all I had on me. They snapped at me again.... We can't take anything higher than a fifty. So refusing to take my money I ended up leaving with no food and a grumpy toddler. This was my first and last visit to Jimmy John's! I come here at least once a week for lunch and it's never a bad experience. However, the one time I did place my order online for pick up and they didn't even know that I placed my order after waiting about 15 minutes the manager came out and apologized to me and said we will try and get our Computer system working as best as we can and then gave me an extra free sandwich and a $25 gift card thank you the manager here. read more

The only reason they are getting 2 stars is because I thoroughly enjoy the order I get each time. The staff is another subject. They all seem like they would rather get their eyeballs scooped out than be at work. The food comes out quickly but no one bothers to bag your sandwich. They just leave it on the counter and walk away. The bags wouldn't be on their side of the counter if they weren't meant to bag them. There's one guy I have seen there consistently, so I'm assuming he's the manager. He ALWAYS seems rushed, bothered or he'd rather be anywhere else. I wanted to try Jimmy John's a few times before submitting a review, just so I can get a better feel for how they run their business in addition to trying a few different food selections. I will say that JJ's is consistent in their freaky fast service, quality ingredients and prices. My favorite sandwich is the "Vito." I've also tried the Roast Beef sub as well as the Gargantuan! Man, that sandwich was exactly that...Gargantuan! I was so stuffed afterward and I probably wouldn't get it for myself unless I was splitting it with someone. As I've eluded to above, I just love JJ's exceptional and freaky fast service, their fresh and quality ingredients and their fair prices. These are all combinations to a great and successful business. They are easily my favorite sub shop in town mainly because Jimmy John's reminds me of Blimpies! Unfortunately I live in the city without a Jimmy John's, which is my favorite sandwich chain, so I always stop by one whenever I visit Austin, this is just the latest one I've discovered. Unbelievable!!!! I wrote detail instructions on how to find my office door for delivery yet after being cussed out by the delivery "man", the receipt only showed the first sentence. So the driver had a huge problem then when he called me, he yelled at me and insisted he was at right door. (he wasn't) Once he finally found me as I stood on the sidewalk, he continued to scream at me, literally telling me to "go F*** myself"!!!! I was standing outside A SCHOOL!!!!!! I told him I had detailed instructions but he didn't care....he loved using the F bomb even as he drove in a circle in the parking lot, passing me for the second time still yelling his favorite phrase! I immediately called the location and was told "we will talk to him"!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Talk to him???? Fire his butt! I had an issue with this location, but I reported it through the Jimmy John's website, and it was resolved a few days later. I'm satisfied with the resolution, and I'll continue to be a customer. Outside of that instance, I've been nothing but satisfied with every Jimmy John's location I've frequented, and this one is no exception. Sandwiches are made extremely quickly, and there are many great options. Since going gluten-free, I've been ordering my sandwiches as an Unwich, which means wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. They're truly delicious - I would order them even if I wasn't gluten-free. read more

Why has only one person reviewed this location? It's been open for months now. The reason that I know this is because I was counting down the days until they opened. I almost crashed my car when I drove by and saw the "Coming Soon" sign up. Anyway, I am a sandwich lover. I can completely relate to Homer Simpson when he ate on that huge sub for days upon days, even when it was starting to spoil and make him sick. Anyway, I haven't actually been inside this store, as the ol' bf is kind enough to pick up food for the both of us when he *conveniently happens to be close by, at GameStop. This is a great location. I order from here probably more than a human being should. They get the order right 99% of the time and mistake usually involve getting a halved pickle instead of a quartered or regular chips instead of bbq. I can live with that as long as the sammich is just how I want it. It always very clean when I go to this location and the staff is very friendly. I love their fresh ingredients, bread and especially their pickles! Personally, I always take my sub home and toast it! Definitely better than Subway on every level! I always order the Vito and their balsamic they put on it is really tasty! My only complaint is that when you order on-line it took forever! I live 0.2 miles from the business so it definitely shouldn't have taken 45 minutes but, when I got my food it was so tasty the wait seemed worth it! Every single Jimmy John's experience that I've had has been pleasant, fast, and friendly. This location has never been busy when I've been outside of lunchtime, so I'm not sure if it ever gets busy. The staff is attentive and can prepare your sandwich in under a minute. They really are as fast as they claim to be! I'm happy to see and good vegetarian option since they offer a guacamole, provolone, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, peppers option in both standard and large sizes. The best thing about JJ is the bread! It's always soft, fluffy, and fresh tasting. I'm impressed by how good the un-which is as well for a gluten free option. They will wrap any sandwich with large iceberg leaves instead of bread and it's almost just as good, but easy on the stomach health wise. Try the Hunter's Club with roast beef! read more

This place is so great. The sandwiches are always delicious and neatly made. I am always so impressed with the staff around 12-1 on weekdays. I have a short lunch break so I like that I can count on Jimmy John's to get me fed and back to work in time. I see the staff working together to keep orders flowing smoothly. Pros: This is a clean branch. The staff is respectful and the service is super quick. Tasty bread. Cons: The music is too loud. They don't toast the subs. Sandwiches are pretty damn good and i have had almost all of their menu but the GARGANTUAN is my go to sandwich, if I get it for lunch, its lasts for dinner as well. As far as their delivery goes, its hit or miss, a few times its taken them 15-20 minutes, other times over an hour. So if I really want it, I usually go and pick it up, but its kinda weird how they advertise this "freaky fast delivery", when it clearly doesn't happen all the time. I loved JJ when I lived in midwest for a while. A classic campus staple I was so happy to find in Texas. This particular JJ just opened up and has a clean, casual, young, hip vibe to it. It's not too busy because it just opened but JJ's making an effort by having plenty of people working! There must be like 10 people working behind the counters ready to make your sandwich! Most of all, their sandwiches are different from subway - hard to describe but their sandwiches are soft and simple and very homey. It you like spicy or a kick in the wiches you may not like it but I like their simple healthy type sandwiches. Best part - they deliver WITHOUT charging delivery fees. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I am 1 week removed from ACL reconstructive surgery. Omw home from 1st post op appointment stop by to get a sandwich. I crutch my way to the door, get in, dry my feet and crutches then take 1 step on the tile. My crutch slips completely and I almost eat shit. No one acknowledges, even the take out driver who is standing RIGHT NEXT TO ME, 1 FOOT AWAY. I rest and regain my energy to get up and proceed to the counter. I politely suggest they lay down an additional rug to prevent any accidents. No one says a word (4 employees behind the counter looking at me with blank stares. I repeat my suggestion, and the first acknowledgment I get from one of the women is "there's a wet floor sign" to which I replied "yes ma'am, I saw the sign which is why I dried my feet and crutches." She then says she will forward the complaint to her manager. I asked who the manager is. She said SHE was the manager. Long story short we shouted back and forth at each other and she told me to "get out of her store". I told her I want leaving without the name and number of the manager. Her employees backed her and refused to give me her name or the store managers name. Needless to say Jimmy Johns is dead to me, and this is after YEARS of being a loyal customer. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love the sandwiches, but I cannot justify spending my money in a place with so little compassion for someone who is disabled, temporarily or otherwise. I called corporate to voice my concern as well. Completely unacceptable behavior for a manager of such a popular brand. Shame on you Jimmy Johns. Shame on you. read more
