I can always count on going here for a satisfying meal. I drove by a bunch of times around Thanksgiving and saw there was a taco with a Thanksgiving take. I was very intrigued. I came here for dinner one evening around 530pm. I was able to order right away. I got the Thanksgiving taco and it really kicked off my tastebuds for the holiday. We use to come here 2-3x a month but in the name of saving some money, we haven't been in a little while. Why do I share this? The staff still remembered us and they are super friendly and provide great service every time. I still love to eat out of course and support local and small business, and Jimmy Hula's never disappoints. Maybe it's the nostalgia of my San Diego upbringing, hanging at the beach every summer, enjoying beach food of fish tacos, burritos and a fusion of un poco Mexicano meets Americano in a twist of perfect sun and surf culinary goodness! All of it - the bowls, burritos, burgers, tacos, fish sandwich - so good, so reasonable as portions are satisfying. They have their own hot sauce and highly recommend Jalapeño Business for a zesty green sauce with more flavor than heat. We were so excited to find this Jimmy Hula's. We were so upset when the one by us in Brandon closed. It was the perfect day for tacos & sitting outside so we grabbed a late lunch while in town for the day. We got our usual taco order & made sure to add on jerk fries. They are amazing!! I wish they sold that sauce. The only disappointment was that they didn't have any juices on tap. Ours used to have this killer mango drink. It was so refreshing. The vibe & staff were great. We haven't been to this Jimmy Hula's location and probably six or seven years. I remember it fondly from those years back. The staff were super accommodating for our party. The prices were well in line with the food that was served. Many people commented on the deliciousness of their fish, tacos and bowls. The weather was nice enough for us to sit outside. I have been coming to Jimmy Hula's since I was a college student and over 10 years later I still love it! The Taco Tuesday deal is one of the cheapest lunches you can get in town and it's 2 tacos (choose between The Standard and/or Street taco), chips and a drink! You order at the counter and food is brought out to you. The servers will also check on you and clear your food, as well as refill your drink. The servers are always kind and friendly. The vibes inside are like being at a chill beach day with reggae music typically playing. There's indoor and covered out door seating with fans. Even in the summer, it's not too bad to sit outside. I was reluctant to reveal this gem publicly, for selfish reasons. Jimmy Hulas is special for my family and me. It's the local place we frequent after baseball games, TGIF, or just because. When the weather is nice, the high tops outside (with a view of the game) are my favorite. My boys normally order the Burnt Reynolds- which is a bacon burger with a fried egg & chips inside of it. The Kingston Tacos and Zucchini fries always hit for me, but everything we've ever tried is fantastic. My husband likes the poke bowl and one of my picky eaters won't adventure past quesadilla and fries. It had been a few years since I'd been to a Jimmy Hula's. A frequent stop of mine in the early 2010's, my go-to location at UCF has since closed, and I was curious to see if it still holds up. I'm happy to say the food is every bit as good as I remember. The staff was extremely accommodating and I could tell they kept the place surprisingly clean. I ordered the Baja fish taco and the Luau chicken taco. Both were exceptional, but I prefer the Luau. I added a side of Voodoo Sauce, a must-have for extra flavor and some chip dipping. I will say the price was a bit steep. It was $15 for two tacos and a water with a $2 tip. On this visit, I found out they make their own hot sauce and furthermore discovered one that I really like called Awesome Sauce, a peach chili sauce that might be my new favorite. Only $6/bottle. All in all, superb visit and I'll be stopping by again soon. read more

Jimmy Hula's has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. Their aloha burger (burger with pineapple) has always been my go to along with a side of mojo fries. It's a truly delicious combination. The only reason I don't go more is because the closest location is 30 minutes away. My boyfriend likes getting the Kahuna burger with the truffle parm fries. My other family likes their tacos. Truly the best smash burger in Orlando. Unlike most smash burgers which I find dry, this one is delicious. The service is always quick and the employees are always nice. The decor is reminiscent of like a burger shack on the beach and I always enjoy sitting outside. read more

I am so sad it has taken me this long to try Jimmy Hula's! We were so impressed with the restaurant! The menu is pretty extensive and has some really great options including tacos, burgers, burritos, bowls and fries! I got the Aloha Burger and it was yummy! The patty was juicy and it had lots of flavor! Now the fries are truly the star! We tried the Jerk fries and Mojo fries and they were both AMAZING! I would go here just for the fries. The seasoning and sauces were great, and they were really crispy. The staff was amazing and super friendly! Service was fast and there was lots of seating options both inside and outside. You order your food at the counter, grab a seat and then they bring your food out to you. The restaurant has a beachy vibe and is very relaxed. Food 3, service 1 which means it's not being managed well. Came by Sunday lunch , I saw 4 tables were not bussed or cleaned at all and people sat down and moved debris aside because that's te only seating available inside. One girl bussed some but not all. One girl ignored everything except food delivery although once she picked up an empty basket and then ran to wash her hands but did not come back to wipe or sanitize the table even though there were elderly waiting to sit. This used to be a reliable favorite but management is sorely lacking. I cannot recommend Jimmy Hula's highly enough! It's primarily burgers and tacos, but far from your typical burgers and taco place. Everything has sort of an island-y theme, from the decor to the food. For example, my go-to is the luau taco, which has teriyaki chicken and pineapple-mango pico. The flavors are absolutely incredible, and the pineapple-mango pico is so good that I usually get a large side of it to-go afterwards. Not gonna lie, these are my favorite tacos in the world. Everything is pretty much customizable. The tacos are sold as singles, so you can mix and match the type and amount to fit your hunger level and so you can try a variety. You can also choose your protein. The burgers can also be made as either single or double. The atmosphere is super relaxed and casual, as you'd expect with the island theme, and the staff are always really nice. Jimmy Hula was one of my most frequent choices when I lived in central Florida; now, it's one of the places I absolutely have to stop at whenever I'm in town. We decided we would try a good variety of the offerings... We ordered fish tacos, a burrito, two kinds of burgers, and gnarly nachos. Well, we were not surprised with their food as they are not only creatively named & artfully made, they were fresh and delicious! The fish tacos and burrito were superb and full of fresh & crispy ingredients and tasty fish & shrimp. The burgers were even mentioned to taste like In-N-Out... I think they're better, well... they surely look better (I wanted to taste one but was not offered a bite!). The nachos were gnarly, what else could we say... I'm typically a snob for authentic tacos, but this is the only funky taco place that I really enjoy. Cute atmosphere with great outdoor seating sets. Service is always quick and super fresh. I did pay $5 for fries that cannot be eaten but I have to purchase new ones? I have worked in countless of restaurants and never in my life have I told someone they will have to repurchase something. Also, an elderly couple sat after us and asked for something extra and was gladly brought it. Would love to see the manager tell them to repurchase something.
