Had a craving for a good fish taco and thought of Jimmy Hula's. The fish taco (Baja blackened fish) hit the spot. I decided to try the three taco dish and combined it with the jimychurri and the monthly special Havana tacos. OMG, each one was delicious. The fish was what I was looking for with a respectable amount of fish with a combo of toppings that created a delicious taco. The Jimichurri was oh so enjoyable with a chimichurri sauce that was so delicious that it could have been on cardboard and tasted great. The Havana special was like Cuban sandwich taco with some respectable heat that was initially a surprise but quickly melded into a great combo. The pork,ham, and pickles were quite enjoyable. I come here a couple times a year and each time forget how wonderful the food, atmosphere, and service is. read more

The food was horrible. The rice was crunchy. And not just a little from the bottom of the pot, it was in multiple servings. You'll also see in the picture how the tiny frozen bag shrimp looks and tasted uncooked. I was sick after eating. Literally went straight to the toilet. I believe the shrimp did it. The cashier/server was incredibly kind and polite. I'm only giving 3 stars, because I've dined at another location multiple times, even with delivery and loved it. You just can't go wrong with this place. Every taco or side I have ever tried was delicious, even when it wasn't something I would normally like. They are generous with their portions and sauces, quick to make and serve the meals and do so with a smile. We love the ambiance with all the plants surrounding the joint and even if you're stuck outside on a hot Florida summer day, you forget about the heat as soon as you bite into your taco. Quite frankly I'd be just as happy sitting on the asphalt in the parking lot as long as I've got a basket of their mojo fries and a jimichurri taco. My friends and I went to Jimmy Hula's yesterday for lunch and we loved it. It wasn't too crowded and we got a table outside on the back patio which was perfect. I got the voodoo taco and the wipeout taco and loved it. I also got to try some sweet potato fries and loved them, I think the sweet potato fries were the best thing I tried. Location is great and ambiance is fun with indoor and outdoor seating-closed at our visit today due to a vehicle ran into the patio recently but otherwise it usually has outdoor area....there is a bar now that includes liquor and the most varieties and tastiest combinations!!! I got the chimichurri and the jerk chicken tacos.I ate one taco while it was hot and the other i ate about four hours later and they were both spectacular! We had a Jimmy Hulas in downtown orlando which sadly closed after Covid Decided to try this location and it is amazing! Loveeeee the outdoor seating with the fountain and plants! I hadn't been here in town a while, and this was the first place I thought of. All the services and cashiers were extremely nice and accommodating. I appreciated the extra effort, especially because it was my friends first time there. The tropical-cabana-surfer style decorated is really on point for florida. Even though it wasn't available this time, the patio decor is also so well done. And finally, the food. Amazing as always. We got a burger, po' boy plantains, and mojo fries. The burger melts in your mouth. Its flavorful, a good size, and tastes freshly made. The plantains (maduros) were my favorite. The fries are definitely seasoned, and it can be a bit much. So I'd recommend plain, or trying on of their other flavors. The po boy was good. It is on nice, thick bread, so be aware of that. Highly recommend giving them a try read more

The staff was sweet and friendly, they were checking up on us even though it's an order at the front and sit down restaurant. They have a beautiful patio area with fans. Order the jimichurri steak bowl!!!! You won't regret it. The flavors were all there and the way the cotija cheese, cilantro, rice, beans, and steak mixed together was mouth watering. The aloha burger was overpowered with pineapple in my opinion. The fries and sweet plantains were fresh off the frier and crispy!! I can tell they use fresh ingredients. The first time I had Jimmy Hula's I was obsessed!! The fish tacos and the jerk chicken were so delish! The Guac and the queso were great. The second time I went, the same tacos tasted a little different. Not bad at all just about 10 times spicier! If you don't mind spice, these tacos really are good, but they are over $5 a piece which I do think is a little expensive. I also do think their chips can be a bit on the hard side. The dining room is set up like quick service and the employees were efficient and friendly. I loved sitting on their patio, but last time I went, the patio was closed (I think because of a car crash) so that's kind of a bummer! Hopefully they'll have that fixed soon. read more

Thus far, I have had many of their tacos, many of their burgers, and even a burrito. I have loved every single thing they've made, but my absolute favorite is the kahuna burger. The burger just tastes amazing. To make thing even better they serve Hawaiian beer. I've tried most of their fry combos and all cooked perfectly. My favorite is definitely the truffle parm fries. We came last night to Jimmy Hulas to switch it up and it reminded of how much we like eating on the patio. Their tacos are great with a ton of options from Tacos to Bowls to Burgers and Burritos. They also have great kids menu options as well. We sat outside on the bench and could watch our kids play out front on the patio. I loved this place so much that I even looked into franchising it in south Florida--and if I won the lottery then that is one of the first things I'll do! The surfin burrito is such a wild concept and yet perfectly executed. The cheese, steak, shrimp, avocado, fries, inside that burrito tasted magical. The aloha burger was great pretty solid but the burrito was the main event. I also had a bite of the Kingston and it was mind blowing; the flavors of the plantain with the avocado and the jerk chicken was so unique. We also got truffle fries and mojo fries--I loved them both but I could have had a bucket full of the truffle fries. They are consistently good. It's a casual place where you walk up to the counter, order, take a number, find your seat, then food comes out. I never waited too long for the food. Sometimes they are busy, especially during prime lunch time. A lot of people comes here for lunch during work break so keep that in mind. I've been hearing too many good things about Jimmy Hula's. When I spotted it in the area, I knew I had to stop in. It was suggested to try the Kingston (jerk chicken taco), which was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Their lava sauce drizzled on top solidified this masterpiece of a taco. I also went with their Voodoo (fish taco), which was simple, light, and refreshing. The service was great, food came out quick! I always love when an establishment has a station of condiments to try out. From what I saw, JH has 4 hot sauces to choose from. I tried 3, and enjoyed them all. Great stop. We love our local Jimmy Hula's! They've recently updated the interior and has a nice flow between indoors/outdoors. We normally come up for either their Wednesday Burger & Beer special or Thursday for their all you can eat tacos. I don't drink beer, but you can switch it out for cider (and they have quite a few options!). We've gotten the Burnt Reynolds, Aloha, and Juan Jovi and would recommend any of them. For 2 people, you can each get the burger/beer special and split a side of fries and leave very full and happy for a great price! The AYCE tacos are smaller and not their specialty tacos, but are still delicious and a great deal. They give you 3 tacos for your first basket and then every reorder came out with 2 tacos. If you're not there on a day with specials, or would rather order off the main/reg menu, I'd highly recommend the Luau taco with chicken teriyaki. I get that with the mango salsa on the side instead of on the taco and then use that as my dip for the tortilla chips that come on the side with your tacos. Yum!! My other fav taco is the Jimichurri. I've tried many others, but these 2 are always my go to and what I always end up craving. So good! Parking is pretty easy here with their own parking lot and once it fills up, you can park on the grass to the side. I want you to to know exactly why your Altamonte Springs location is going to end up closing in the next 12 months. Sunday night 8pm. I love a good double kahuna burger double with bacon yum!! So I order from home. I pick it up and the doors are open. It feels great outside. One patron a great mother of 2 is eating and I say hello. Everything is awesome. I pay and tip and was going to leave. This lady that works the overhears me say to the cashier it's so nice outside tonight. The lady that overheard says thank you for reminding me to close the doors. Um why would me saying it's nice outside mean you should close the doors? Anyways. After receiving an important text I thought it's so nice tonight. Maybe I should stay and eat out on the patio. So I can respond and enjoy the weather. I then proceed out on the patio where there are many tables and chairs and again it's 8 pm and you are still open. With a staff of about 6 people. I walk out on the patio and it's locked. So I unlock it and walk out. Only to be confronted by the lady that I reminded to shut the door. I was confused because she stops me and says, "excuse me but the patio is closed!" The problem with that statement is there was a small party of 5 people drinking alcohol on the back patio!!!! Not quite the financial draw of a private party. I didn't see food just beers. My opinion but I don't even think they were patrons but friends of staff. "My opinion but check the cameras." I was insulted to put it mildly and complied with a fake smile. Think it made her feel important and I'm happy to have made her night by complying with her tone of a demand. I ate inside and was quite pissed. Bacon undercooked and just made without any passion. I have eaten one kahuna burger every other week for 2 years. Super disappointed. Before I left I asked for the General Managers card and was told he is here but too busy to come and speak to me. Honestly I really hope the GM wasn't there on a Sunday at 8pm. Being lied to is a nice touch on top of it all. There was one family dinning and nobody in line. I love this Jimmy hulas. The outdoor porch area is so tropical and beautiful and inside is beachy too. Outside there's a water fountain in the middle of all the tables and there's an area with fake grass that has some seating and large size jenga. I usually order the Baja bowl and add guac. The food always comes out so fast and it's impressive. Delicious every time and they're all very sweet. Definitely recommend. read more
