The food is really good. We had a Salmon Lover Poke Bowl and a taco and a salad with ginger sauce. The salmon poke was delicious and hearty. Everything was fresh including the side salad. But, that Asian dressing for the salad was the best I've ever had. The taco was small, but tasty, however too small to be worth the cost. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The only concern is that the booths are tight for any adult with height and extra weight. The booths don't move and they're a snug fit. I tried the pineapple-dole ice cream and it's delicious! We have ordered from here multiple times and it's always been great. Last night it was terrible. My daughter went to pick it up and come home to tell me there was no air conditioning in the restaurant. OK, it happens I get it. But when we got the food home? It was awful. It was warm, which poké. bowls should not be, but my biggest complaint? The rice was hard and crunchy and I mean not semi cooked crunchy but like it was old crunchy. The order was $35 for two people, which was bad enough but after we started eating this mess, it was so bad that I did something I never do: I called the restaurant to tell them we were less than satisfied. I called to speak to someone and when I told the girl who answered the phone why I was calling, she listened to my complaint she said "Yeah, it's bad tonight. Let me get the manager." The manager, however, did not agree. When I told him that I felt the rice was hard and undercooked and not at all what we normally experienced, he said to me "Well, I ate it and it was fine." REALLY?? So, Kona poké, I'm sorry to say you've lost my business. Never again...if the response had been anything other than what I got, I may have tried it another time but nope. I think it was a combo of the food and service that made this experience great. When we came in, we were greeted and asked if we needed help picking something out. Jessie went above and beyond explaining. And he was right about the sweet heat sauce, just do it! The other employee, didn't catch her name, was extremely nice and even brought us samples of dole soft serve to try. Both checked on customers from time to time, and kept the lunch rush moving. The food was great. Fresh fish, I did a build your own bowl and had ample toppings to choose from. My buddy did a bourbon chicken bowl and was very happy with his selection. Kona is fire! Who knew Apopka was hiding an uncut gem like this. I got the Kona fire bowl ($14) and it was delicious, big enough to share with my wife and I would definitely go back just for the free dole whip they offer with it ;) Finding poke with both fresh ingredients and a decent portion for a good price is a rarity. Ok, first off the restaurant was clean and the workers were super nice! This was our first time here and at first glance we were excited at the high ratings since we are from out of state but when we got our bowls, I could smell a fishy smell and noticed the salmon didn't look very fresh but we still decided to give it a chance. By the end of the bowl, I noticed I was avoiding the salmon altogether and only eating the smaller bits of edamame and mango I had. It seemed like the salmon was old and slightly cooked? Not too sure. I'm a good eater and usually don't leave food- especially poké!! We both weren't very satisfied and actually pretty disappointed with the overall taste. After we left, we both started having upset stomachs and quickly needed bathroom breaks. Not sure if this was an 'off' day for the fish but we definitely did not get the fresh stuff. Also for the price, we didn't feel it was worth it, $15 for pretty small bowls that weren't filling. All in all, I unfortunately wouldn't recommend this place in the slightest. read more

I had the Kona Fire bowl and my husband had the Bourbon Chicken bowl. Both were very tasty, and large portions for the price. I was especially happy with the spiciness of the Kona Fire. Afterward, the workers gave us free samples of pineapple Dole Whip. We were 2 of the 4 customers in the restaurant at 8 PM on a Friday night, which was surprising, considering the quality of this food and the great customer service. We used to go to the Sus Hi Eatstation, but stopped a while back because the quality of service had dropped below our acceptance level. We started to go to Kona Poke here in Apopka after they opened recently. They have only one size (except for the kids menu), but the toppings are good and they pack them in. The only problem I've run across the last two times I've been there is that the chicken I ordered was not the Bourbon chicken. It was the regular grilled chicken and I also found it cold not hot. The sauces seem to be a mix. When you order online you get to pick 3 sauces. What if I wanted 3 of the same sauce? The website doesn't have that option. I put in the special request box what I want, but I never seem to get what I ask for, and family members do not seem to always get what they want either (for the sauces). Overall, I like this better than any other Poke bowl out there. I think their best attribute is the toppings. The flavors are good. The price is good. read more
