We had a wonderful experience at Jimmy Changa's! We ordered the queso, fajita bowl, and enchiladas, and everything was absolutely delicious. The food came out fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we were hoping for. Our server, Nisha, was fantastic! She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Ok. I found my new neighborhood Tex-mex Restaurant! It's only been open a little over 2 weeks but I've visited twice. I'm just gonna say it's a winner. The margaritas are really good. They have a kick & taste good. First time I got the perfect Patron grande for $21.50. It was a good, strong margarita but for the price point I thought I'd try the Changa Margarita for $16 and it was also very good & strong. With that said, I typically get a Patron or Julio margarita but here, the Changa 'Rita works! On to the food... Both visits everything was spot on. The beef fajitas, the beans, the shrimp tacos all of it was really tasty. I appreciate the side of veggies cause I love veggies but I wouldn't mind a slightly elevated seasoning profile on them. The atmosphere is upbeat. Both times I sat at the bar & all the bartenders kept checking in to see if we needed anything. I've visited their sister property, Gringos, a few times & I gotta say, I definitely appreciate the vibe of this spot better. I say come check out the new Tex-Mex restaurant and you decide. First timer & I enjoyed my visit. First of all the restaurant is spacious & beautiful. It was crowded but didn't feel compact. A lot of their menu items are the same as Gringo's. Mateo was our server & he was great! We started out with the delicious spinach queso dip. We ordered to pollo el dorado & the spinach enchilada. Both were tasty. They also have the best strawberry lemonade. I will definitely be back to try other items on their menu. You can use your Gringo's Tex mex insider points there. read more

Certainly the best experience at a Jimmy Changa's I've ever had! Restaurant was busy but we were able to get seated immediately and scored a nice high top booth. Service was excellent and I really enjoyed my skinny Rita-made really well. Our food came out piping hot and everyone enjoyed their respective meals. Everything even the rice and beans were hitting. Highly recommend for Tex Mex and family dining. Like other Jimmy Changas there are some outdoor games and fun things for the kiddos and can't forget the free ice cream when you exit! read more

The Richmond location finally opened and I checked them out although many are still training. The dining room is a moderate to large in size. The bar is very large and centrally located between two dining areas. I chose to eat at the bar and the staff were great. My beverage was a Patron Margarita which was a perfect 5/5. However, the price was much higher than expected. The food came quickly considering the crowd. My Skirt Steak Fajitas were a 4/5 with sides of charro beans and rice a solid 4/5. I was surprised! Paid 16 $$$ for the Fajita Salad that wasn't much bigger than a dinner salad. It tasted old, looked like it was mostly iceberg lettuce, with very few tomatoes/cucumber pieces. The location in Pearland is much better. Gringos at Brazos Town Center far surpasses this restaurant - and they are the same company! Will not return.... read more

Visited the new Jimmy Changas in Richmond and although the service was great, I wish I had chosen something else. I had the Rodriguez with beef nachos, chicken taquito and chicken enchilada and charro beans. For the most part it was delicious but the beans and enchilada were very chili powder forward and it didn't settle on my tummy well. We visited this new location with my mom over the weekend and it did not disappoint! Even though they were very busy, we didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a table. All the staff were very nice and welcoming, from the moment we walked in, to being seated, we got chips and salsa right away, we were greeted by our server pretty quickly & didn't have to wait long for our drinks or food. We even got a visit by two managers to check on us. I got the Strawberry Mojito, which was really great & my mom got a classic margarita, which she also enjoyed a lot. We got the steak fajitas to share and they were very tasty! Everything went great. The only thing I hope is better next time is that we ordered the fajita tacos to go, we paid & then had to wait about 15-20 minutes for our food, even though we ordered it well in advance... maybe they had forgotten about our food. Also, the music is pretty loud. Overall, the place is very nice, with a nice play & seating areas out in the patio for cool days. We will certainly be back. So I ordered the Spinach Enchiladas and asked if I could have mushrooms added she said sure. When they came no mushrooms. I was about to flag the bartender when a girl comes up with some very well done mushrooms, wait what?!?! So I just added them on top. The green salsa tasted a bit like ranch but was still pretty good as well. - Food - 2.5-3 out of 5. Definitely tasted very much like a chain restaurant, and wasn't quite as good as the fantastic Gringos down the road off of 99 in Katy. - Service - Solid 3 out of 5. The server meant well but did not seem to have much training or experience, leading to below average service. - Ambiance - Overall ambiance probably gets a 5 out of 5. It was clean and nice and aside from the nice interior, had a great turfed play area for kids. Seems very family friendly. - Margarita - We ordered a frozen strawberry margarita. It was delicious. My husband says it's a 5 out of 5! We personally will not likely return to this restaurant as food and service are the most important to us, but are glad we tried it and can see why others might enjoy it! Just went to soft opening. Restaurant is bright and refreshing and lots of ambiance. Server tonight was Thomas. He was attentive and fun and very patient. The green and red dips were similar to those at Gringos but actually had more flavor. Chicken fajitas were very good. Maybe needed a slightly larger amount of pico and guacamole on side.
