First off, I want to say that my family has been regularly coming to this restaurant for nearly 10 years so this review is long overdue! The food tastes amazing and the service is great. We're Mexican, so that can speak for the quality of food. This place gets very busy on Sundays but our servers always make sure our chips and drinks are filled. The servers greet you with chips and salsa. I love their green salsa, it's very spicy! The red salsa is mild/medium depending on your spice tolerance. My personal go to meal is the burrito. It's huge and usually I will eat half there and take the rest to go since I get full and the burrito is big. I don't like lettuce or tomato in my burrito so I sub it for rice and beans. My grandmother ordered the Tacos Rancheros. She said they were good. My brother had the Beef Fajita with Chilaquiles Verdes, he said it was just what he needed this morning. All that to say, the food always hits the spot. It's fairly cheap for the quantity. You can't beat the prices! At the end of the meal, either your server will bring you the check or you can go pay with the cashier. read more

We can after 9pm and they closed at 10pm. The waitress was cleaning up already, we did feel bad coming in so late but she was so nice. She's didn't rush us, she didn't make us feel like we were a bother for coming in late. She was very attentive, and answered all the questions we had. The margarita was delicious, with the Tajin rim. The Sweet and tart balance was on point. And the food...omg it was delicious. The quantity of food was so much. The fajitas were tender, the salsa had a good kick with a good flavor too. Most places only have the spice or the flavor but can't get both right. We will definitely be coming back. Also the waitress informed us that Happy hour is from 4pm-8pm( or maybe it was 7pm) and that they close at midnight on Friday and Saturday. Thank y'all for such a good experience! read more

It's a small place, but so so worth it. It's delicious authentic and family owned. They have a lot of variety on the menu so there is something for everyone. We had a fantastic time (back in June but I knew I wanted to give a review!) the food was so delicious. I liked that the michelada was served with the beer separate so you got the whole beer and could adjust it to the strength with the flavoring you liked. and it was so awesome that they even had (really good) live music (singing)! Agave a lot of my money to various Mexican restaurants over the years. I'm glad this is one of them. Los Agaves is one of the better Mexican restaurants in town. Everything here is delicious and there's a huge portion of the menu that's authentic and terrific for those from Mexico or who want to eat actual Mexican food the way the Mexicans do in Mexico. It's not expensive in Texas to eat good Mexican food, and here is no exception, where a lot of the menu is dirt cheap and nothing short of delicious. We found this place by accident going down Hwy 6 and keep going back. Los Agaves isn't fancy; versatile menu of Mexican and Tex-Mex with great fresh food and excellent service, and the best homemade tortillas we've ever had. Rice and beans are perfect. This is a great place for breakfast tacos. Nopale and egg was very good. Egg and machada was ok, but dry. Salsas red and green are delicious and these dry eggs need it. Bacon, egg, and cheese good, but dry. Pancakes and sausage were excellent. Service was awesome. Our waitress was super nice. The place was real busy, but she was handling it well. She's a pro. We will definitely go back. Might turn on the jukebox next time because of annoying children playing loud games on their phones. I hope the music is loud. read more

Came here for HH on a Friday afternoon & we were seated immediately. Small Margaritas were only 2.50! Our food was yummy, nothing super special but it had good flavor. Our service was amazing! The food here is classic. They serve you with chips red and green salsa and also pickled veggies while you wait. They have a combination of tex-mex and Mexican dishes. I ordered the quesadilla with rajas and it was really good. The veggies in it were seasoned really well! It was a mixture of poblano or maybe jalapeño, tomato, and onions. My husband had the al pastor, tripas, and bistec. He said the flavors were reminiscent of Mexico. I would have loved to try more food, but I wasn't that hungry today.. I asked my friends for authentic TexMex and this place did not disappoint. So much on the menu to choose from. I went with the chili relleno stuffed with beef and cheese. The chili was over stuffed and I loved every bite. The beans and rice were awesome. The cheese dip was a little runny but the make all the flour and corn tortillas in house. My friend had the green enchiladas and she didn't say a word till she was finished eating. And the prices were great! When I make it back to Sugarland, Texas. The food is great!! The only bad thing is that the menu that is uploaded on yelp is "5yrs old" so the prices aren't the same. Some foods they will charge the same but for other foods they'll put the "new price" in. And they told they're about to raise their prices AGAIN. That's the only thing that's kept me from going back. I have given this place its fair amount of chances but every-time I go the food is so gross man it's always some off brand Tex-mex food tortas taste like a damn sandwich, tacos dryer than sand paper, the drinks are not the best, the tables are ALWAYS sticky the only good thing they have is the restroom actually looks clean most of the time... Today was the last time l eat here so expensive for the food quality do yourself a favor and drive a bit further for better food for less money it's not worth it!!!!!!!! What a hidden gem! A hole in a wall. They serve amazing soft beef tacos! I love how they chop up the beef in the tacos, making it easier to bite into. Their green sauce is spicy and creamy, but delicious. It goes great with the tacos. They also have margaritas for $5. This is definitely my new favorite Mexican restaurant.
