Delicious Cuban(Cubano) with the not so appetizing crispy fries.

This place is so addicting. Love the bread they give you and it goes perfect with my favorite plate, the cinco. The cheese broccoli soup is the best ever and the chicken salad is like no other.

We ordered takeout for pickup, and the service was great. The person helping us was friendly and wore a cool Nintendo 64 shirt--a nice touch! Cuban Sandwich: Delicious and well-executed. Cheesy, gooey goodness with the perfect balance of ham, pork shoulder, and Swiss cheese. The sandwich was nicely toasted, maybe, on the grill or in a panini press, adding that extra crunch. Ham & Swiss Sandwich with Broccoli Cheese Soup: Tasty overall, though the soup could use more broccoli. The flavors were there, but it leaned a little too much on the cheese. Cheddar Burger with Side Salad: Cooked perfectly to medium, with a nicely sized, juicy patty. The side salad was fresh, but the lettuce on the burger itself didn't hold up well--likely due to the heat during the drive home. Swiss Burger: Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. A solid burger overall. Bonus: Every meal comes with crunchy crostinis--spicy, greasy, and full of flavor. A nice little extra!

The staff is friendly and quick. The restaurant is cozy and has good soft lighting. I purchased a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and a cup of broccoli cheese soup. The soup was out of this world good! They make their own crustini bread (croutons) and they go great inside the soup instead of boring saltines lol. The chicken salad was not my favorite. It had a little too much mustard in the dressing and the croissant was not buttery and flaky as I was expecting. It was somewhat dense and dry. I would definitely go back for the soup! If I find myself in Madisonville again I will treat myself to more broccoli cheese soup:) If I had enjoyed my sandwich I would have rated this place four starts.

Friday, my son and I took a drive to our favorite Richmond eatery. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a big smile. It was Sandy herself. I introduced ourselves and shared with her how I've been driving from Cypress to her place since 2000 when It was a house in Rosenberg. The look on her face was gratitude. We ordered, and ate. The food was phenomenal as usual. I just love everything about that place. It feels like home. I also recognized a friendly face there. I don't know his name, but he's an older African American gent. Each time I'm there, he gives me a big hello. One day, I'm going to ask his name. Thank you Sandy for such hospitality and great food. I'm a customer for life. See ya in a few weeks.

Okay so boom! My daughter is home and she wanted nachos. So I took a gamble and ordered the nachos and the chocolate cake for her and her brother to share. Well she ended up sharing the nachos as well. Wow What a serving.

Food was ok. Average I guess. Friendly people and great atmosphere. Love the way the place looks.

Sandy McGees is a classic spot in downtown Richmond. They are exceptional! I love their portion sizes and vast menu. Their chicken salad on their buttery croissant role is 10/10. I also really enjoy their classic club. Whether you're feeling a full sandwich with the sides or half sandwich with sides they have options to fit your hunger. They tend to be busy on weekends, but it's worth the wait if you go on a busy day. They are quick to serve your food and have great host and waiters. I love going to Sandy McGees if I'm studying during the week as their atmosphere is relaxing. If you go weekends it's lively during prime hours so even grabbing a drink at their bar is nice!

I ordered the quiche plate which comes with fruit salad and choice of soup. The fruit and soup were good but the quiche was cold.

The wait time was as expected for that amount of people to come in. I had the fire roasted salmon and I loved it. It was a great contrast of differing textures and flavors. It was a lot better than I expected. The portion for me was perfect, I was full and satisfied by the end of it. They do an excellent job in trying to accommodate everyone and they made an effort to regularly check in. This place has that woody, western vibe to it. Definitely a little pricey on certain menu items but aside from that a good time overall.

The ahi tuna wasn't the best. It wasn't fresh and the feta cheese was a bit too overwhelming. As for the spinach and artichoke dip, I felt like it was okay. Didn't really like the tomatoes as it made the dip runny and hinder the taste from the star ingredients of the dish. The smoked gouda burger was the best. The meat was cooked perfectly and the amount for each ingredients were given generously. I also really loved how you really can taste the smokiness from the bite. As for the pasta, I thought that it was good but not the best. It was starting to get a bit heavy with the amount of cheese and I do wish the cajun flavor could be a bit stronger. The chicken was also on the dry side but it's still pretty decent. Overall, this place is okay. Service could've been a bit better since it took a while for us to find someone to help us on our water refill and check.

The bar is actually really cool because the countertop is full of coins from one end all the way to the other! Haven't seen anything like it before so that was pretty neat. My husband ordered a breakfast sandwich- as you can see from the picture, he enjoyed every bite! I ordered the chicken and waffles with a side of bacon. The chicken was thick and juicy, just how we like it, and the powdered sugar with strawberries on top really held that nice, sweet and savory fix I needed! Our friend had a burger and said it was very good. I drank beer, which was cold and our server kept them coming which was great! Would go back for the fish and chips! We then went especially on a Wednesday to have the Chicken Pot Pie special. It was served in a bowl type (very large mug) with a big croissant type bread sitting on top. Have never seen it this way so we were kinda surprised. It was not terrible but won't order it again. It came wth a very large side salad. Also ordered a cup of the potato soup. It was very runny and unfortunately not a potato to be found. Also would not order again. Their daily specials seem to be a good deal. Their menu has quite a selection as well. Definitely want to try their breakfast!
