It ought to be called Iffy Movers. As we'll see, the business model seems to be flawed. I booked my move, a small office setup, for 9 AM to be the first move of the day. The owner was attentive and efficient on the phone. But he himself doesn't necessarily do the moving; he seems to contract with other crews. The one that was supposed to move me apparently double-booked itself! After a few phone conversations, Duylam checked in with them and reported that they had "a lot more stuff to move than they expected" and would be many hours late.
He then helpfully found another crew on short notice. They finally arrived as 12:30, 3 and a half hours after my appointment. But hey, it's the moving business, right? Well, sort of. These guys, though perfectly pleasant and careful with my stuff, were inexperienced, inefficient, out of shape, and SLOW. Took 4 hours to do what should have taken 2.5 or 3. Didn't seem to have mastered the rudiments of furniture handling.
I'm glad it's done, but if I ever have to move again, I'll call someone else. By calling itself the "Lyft of delivery," the business practically advertises that it has little control over the actual muscle that moves your stuff around. read more
