For the pizza being pepperoni Fest, I didnt see that much pepperoni. I dont see the mozzarella balls. However, the pizza tasted delicious. I would say this pizza is probably better to have it at the restaurant than being delivered.

I went with the boneless buffalo wings, that were LOADED with sauce, a pizza with pepp on the whole thing and japs on half for me, since munchie isn't big on the spicy. Which is surprising because she's with me. Anyway. We got a side of blue cheese, ranch, extra pizza sauce, and they threw in a buffalo for the wings (which was not used nor needed). Their pizza has a sweetness about it that I love. I personally do not typically like pizza sauce, but theirs is good! We also love their Italian subs. They are a good size for the price, good toppings, but most importantly it's not super greasy and soggy like some toasted subs tend to be, and these subs still taste good even the next day. The buffalo chips with ranch are great, and we usually split an order of those when we order subs. But my all time favorite item from here is the calzone. WHY IS IT SO GOOD? Its 8am as I write this and I'm currently salivating thinking of it, lol! Another great thing I wanted to mention about Crenos is that they have a little "junior" pizza that's like $4.50. It's so so nice having a small pizza option for the kids, or for my mom who doesn't typically have any other people that she's sharing a pizza with. The prices are very fair for the price, and all of the food is delicious. I definitely recommend trying it out! It's way better than the typical big name pizza places around here, and the employees are all nice and fast and hardworking. We love Crenos!

The restaurant just doesn't seem to have recovered since COVID. They no longer offer dine-in service, and all of the tables have been pushed in front of the prep area, so customers can no longer watch the pizzas being made--a feature that used to add to the experience. The condition of the restaurant was concerning. The ceiling tiles were stained and discolored, several were out of place leaving openings to the floor above, and there appeared to be visible mold on ceiling tiles and around the vent above the pizza ovens and prep area. Given the location, it raised concerns for me about sanitation and food safety. The drink cooler was completely empty. When we asked, we were simply told they were out of beverages. We ended up buying drinks from the business next door, where they mentioned that Plaza Pizza customers regularly come there because the pizza shop doesn't have beverages available. The pizza itself wasn't what we remembered. The signature cracker crust that made Plaza Pizza special is gone. It lacked the crisp, fresh texture it once had and instead tasted stale. The bottoms of both pizzas were also dotted with black debris from the oven deck -- the oven decks have been cleaned between pizzas which should be a standard operating procedure. The restaurant was extremely hot inside, and I noticed ingredients such as sauce being kept in containers on the counter rather than in a refrigerated prep table. Having spent many years working in food service, those observations prompted me to review recent Licking County health inspection reports. I found multiple repeat violations that had reportedly remained uncorrected, which made the issues I observed even more concerning. This restaurant used to be one of our favorite stops, and it's disappointing to see how far it has declined. I genuinely hope the owners invest in cleaning, maintenance, and stronger food safety practices because Plaza Pizza was once a local gem. Until then, we'll be taking our business elsewhere.
