We had the mussels, which used to be excellent, but this time they were terrible - dry, chewy, with very little broth that was orange and tasted strongly of curry. I had a pizza that was ok. Lamb sausage, but it was really mediocre. I would not order again. My friend had the gnocchi with ragú and she also found it mediocre and not well prepared. In addition, we waited nearly an hour for our food to come out after ordering. A nearby table seated after us ordered, ate, paid & left before we got our food. Wait staff was not very cordial. We won't be back, unfortunately. It makes me sad because it used to be such a great restaurant. Also, not a fan of how the outdoor seating area changed.

Slice was hot and was a good size slice. Only needed one and we were ready to proceed with our day around Franklin.

No joke - this is arguably a top 5 pizza spot you'll find in the central TN area…read more I know this is a chain, but it's the truth - yes, some of that is coming from the very low bar that's currently set in the area for pizza (anyone from the Northeast will agree)... but even putting that to the side, this place is still very solid. I never had to ask for a drink refill and we were checked on regularly. Also, our order came out quick and we received our check without having to wait or ask for it. Overall a very fast but not rushed service. We had the penne pasta with chicken, cheese pizza and a custom pizza. All were amazing. The pizzas are approx 11" so a large personal size. Upon our return to Franklin, we will definitely be a return customer.

The food has consistently been good, and I've always loved the unique atmosphere and pizza combinations you can't really get anywhere else. That being said, the experience has definitely changed over the years. While the location is technically in a great area of Franklin, the parking situation has become an absolute nightmare as the city continues to grow. It's honestly getting harder and harder to enjoy going there because of the traffic and lack of parking nearby. I also feel like the customer service has gone downhill recently. I used to have much friendlier experiences there, but the last few times I've visited, the staff seemed less welcoming and the overall atmosphere just felt off compared to what it used to be. I still enjoy Mellow Mushroom and will always have nostalgia for it, but I definitely think there are areas that could improve to bring back the experience people used to love.
