Over…read morethe past several visits, Doug G, Carlos R, and Jeffrey R have each come to my home for either quarterly maintenance or targeted treatments, and they've all been professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. One thing I really appreciated was that they identified a honey bee colony on my property. Instead of simply treating it, they let me know so I could have the bees safely rehomed before they started producing honey inside my walls. That level of care and attention really stood out. The quarterly exterior treatments have been well worth it for me. Wasps and ants are a recurring issue around my home, so keeping up with regular service has made a big difference. If I have a specific problem between visits, like a wasp nest, they're quick to come out and take care of it. Most of what I need is included in the annual service. Mosquito treatment is an additional charge, but that's separate from the standard plan. I also appreciate that they don't push unnecessary interior treatments when there aren't any issues. Their pricing is competitive, and their payment and scheduling system is excellent. It's easy to manage appointments, and they're very responsive by text whenever I have a question or need service. Overall, I've been very happy with Atex and would definitely recommend them.

What we got instead was a complete nightmare. From the first visit, things felt off. The technician was in and out in record time. When I asked about the mosquito treatment, he literally said, "I'm not sure it's worth it to treat for mosquitos because of your property and the trees, but if you want..." Uh, yes -- the trees and the setting are exactly why we need it! That should have been the first red flag. After the initial treatment, our yard was still covered in spider webs -- all over the door frames -- and I found an expired wasp nest under a light fixture. Gross, but I figured maybe that's just Austin. (Spoiler: it's not.) To make things even more confusing, they told me the previous homeowners had also used them for treatment. How!? If that's true, why are there webs and nests everywhere? Why does it look like the place has been ignored for months? That comment alone made me seriously question what they actually do during visits. Three weeks in, I lifted a tennis racket in the garage and a huge cockroach fell out. That was it. I called, and they sent the same tech back. When I told him what happened, he looked me in the eye and said: "You live in Texas now. This is normal. You'll see them, even inside your house. If you keep calling me, I'll put you on a blacklist." Excuse me? That's your professional response? He sprayed again -- quickly and half-heartedly -- and left. I hoped it was resolved. Nope. When we moved here from LA, we both got brand-new cars -- year 2025, never owned -- parked in our garage. Soon after, I noticed spider webs inside my SUV. Took it to get professionally detailed. The webs came back. Looked closer at the garage door inside -- egg sacs and webs everywhere. I was still paying $89 a month for this "service." And then the final straw: driving this morning, three spiders came down from the ceiling of my car while I was behind the wheel. I nearly swerved off the road and went into a full-blown allergy attack. I cancelled Justice Pest the moment I got home. Pure laziness. No follow-through. Zero accountability. If you live in the Lakeway area -- save yourself the stress and do NOT use them. I've switched to Austin Pest and finally feel like someone is taking the job seriously.

They removed all old insulation in my attic and replaced it with new insulation all in one day. They also left my home better when they found it, which is their motto, from what one of them said. I'm truly satisfied with their work and with BRD as a whole with the work they do. If you are looking for a good pest control company reach out to them. I highly recommend them.

I haven't looked closely into just how safe the chemicals are but I'm placing my trust in this company. Beats a conventional exterminator, I suppose. We've only had them spray inside once (first visit) and it didn't smell toxic. What I really appreciated when I first reached out to them is that the owner talked to me himself. He took the time to explain everything and patiently answer all my questions. I also liked how they offered a complimentary vulnerability assessment during the initial visit. Basically looked around the exterior of the home and noted potential areas where bugs can enter. It wasn't extremely thorough but for a free service that essentially works against them, it was pretty helpful. The techs are always really nice and easy to talk to.

I'm trying to understand why my experience is so different from these 5 star reviews…read more. After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

Living in the Long Canyon area means I'm basically a high-end squatter in the middle of the woods, and apparently, I'm "invading" the local wildlife's favorite real estate. He doesn't just show up on time; he makes the right assessment the first time and handles the problem humanely and comprehensively. On a FREE inspection Gary found where the likely entryway was (broken siding under an eave that I hadn't noticed). Gary covered it with duct tape. I ended up taking care of it myself through Gary's advice, only because it was a safer part of our steep 2 story roof. I have now solved the problem with only the cost of a strong roofing adhesive and used some spare flashing I had laying around. I know 100% who I'm reaching out to next time a critter decides to enjoy my attic. Thank you Gary!
