The food is terrific, but the service is also fabulous! Employees are very cordial and treat you as a guest rather than just a business transaction. You can hear sincerity in the welcome greeting through the thanks for stopping. My husband and I are from out of town. We dine here 1 or 2 times for every week we are in Rome. I hate to be a Debbie downer when I see such good reviews but I wasn't impressed with Jerusalem Grill's food. I'm giving it a 2 for good quality service and interior decor. My favorite go to Mediterranean food is gyro but I don't think they served the real deal here. It was bland and dry. Same with the feta I had to ask to be added. I do think it was some of the best pita I'd ever had though but I didn't choose the place to eat just bread. The boys that were working on our visit were very excellent host and kept busy cleaning when they weren't serving customers. The decor was great for a strip mall type restaurant. We did love the mural. Pretty decent flat parking lot right outside the door. read more

Big selection of options. I got the lamb shawarma plate. Lamb, rice, hummus, and peppers. I just mixed everything together and it was delicious. We moved here two years ago and are still discovering the little hidden nuggets of delight around Rome. We have heard so much word of mouth raves about the Jerusalem Grill and read the reviews here, so we finally got around to giving it a try for a late lunch today. It is just a casual dining grill so the ambiance is in keeping with a quick place to stop for a bite or comfortable enough to linger over a leisurely meal. There is plenty of parking and even though it is tucked in back off the road among the buildings it is still conveniently located. Since it was lunch we really didn't want anything super heavy or filling so we both settled on the gyro combos. The service was quick and everything was hot and very tasty. The sandwiches were served in typical plastic baskets but they have real metal tableware as well as plastic utensils if you want your meal to go. They gyros were excellent and served in pita bread that is made on the premises. The sandwich was stuffed with a combination of fresh tomatoes, red onions, and really fresh crisp lettuce. Most often when I have had a gyro at other restaurants they simply had a glop of yogurt. The Jerusalem Grill puts a light serving of cucumber yogurt with other seasoning added that really makes it stand out. The also place a squeeze bottle of the sauce on the table in case you want more. The folks at the table next to us were also eating there for the first time and we were comparing tasting and quality notes with them. The wife was eating falafel and her husband was enjoying a lamb chop dinner. Both dishes looked delicious with plenty of garnish and extras on the plate to make sure you leave with a full stomach. They both said their meals were excellent. They had made a day trip to Rome from Dalton specifically to try the Jerusalem Grill and said they definitely planned on returning for future meals, as we are also. The price of the meals are more than reasonable and they have several busboys that continuously circulate making sure the tables and floors are spotless. Bottom line...we can't wait to come back and try a variety of their other dishes. While it is not a fancy restaurant it is a place that should be high on your list to try and then eat at regularly. read more

Being a lover of mediterranean food, I was super excited to drop in and try the Jerusalem Grill since I was in town only for the day. I ordered two lentil soups to go and pineapple juice. When I got to my destination and opened up the package, I was a little confused. The soup was just broth and had only approximately 1 tablespoon on lentils in each soup. Lentil soup is my favorite and I was very disappointed that there was no lentils. I basically paid $10 for broth. My only reasoning could be, that the server only scooped the soup from the top not 'understanding' that the lentils would be at the bottom, or that their soup is really just broth. I left feeling a little cheated, and still hungry. Other than that, the decor in the restaurant is very nice, looking at other people's plates, they seemed very appetizing. Delicious! I never thought that this little place would be able to pack such flavor in their food. I ordered the #1 (gyro sandwich with a salad instead of fries) and a small hummus and it was under $12. The sandwich alone was super filling and delicious! The pita bread had a wonderful flavor and was served still warm. The hummus had a fresh flavor and the oil had a hint of lemon that made it taste so light and delicious. Not good. Very nice young boy took my order with no supervision. Came wrong. No pita given with salads. Not even asked as I incorrectly assumed that it would. Had chicken kabob...just ok. Jerusalem salad...too much dressing but I will say that it was refreshingly cold on this hot day riding a motorcycle. AND, the electric plugs didn't work so that I couldn't charge my phone!! Bottom line... I'd say find something else in Rome. read more
