I discovered this place because I initially wanted cookies next door but was drawn in by the name and long line of people out front. Coming from Montreal - we don't have this chain back home and the only thing I've been used to is Subway in terms of sandwiches. Jersey Mike's is FAR superior, now I know! What stood out to me most is seeing all the fresh ingredients and large number of employees at work. We came during lunch rush on a Saturday and placed was packed. It probably took 10-15 or so minutes before getting our order but the staff really seems to be working as fast and efficently as they can. The fact that all sandwiches are made to order on the spot with different customization options does take longer. My boyfiend and I tried different italian style subs, I opted for a "mini" size and he got the giant. We've never seen any place douse dressing or sauce on a sub the way they were doing it here according to "Mike's Way". Seeing the well oiled operation underway was very impressed and appetizing. All that "juice" was something we were excited to try. There isn't a lot of seating on a site, maybe only 5 or so small tables, luckily we did find a spot and were able to bite into one of the, if not THE best tasting submarine ever! Wow it was just a flavor explosion. The thinly slices meats and cheese, shaved lettuce and all the toppings, seasoning and "juice" make a huge difference and really elevate this to the next level. Other fast food chains in my experience do not deliver something this fresh and tasty. The service was very efficient, friendly - all around a delicious and fun experience. Only drawback for me is the price, these are not cheap so I don't think I'd be eating this too often even I lived closed by, but it's a nice treat whene you want to feel like you're having something healthier and fresh. I don't know if the employees are clueless or don't know the menu. Either way it's the last time my family will order from this place. I've never had an order messed up this badly anywhere else in my life. One star is for the fact that at least they made the food on time, even if more than half the sandwiches were ruined with extra ingredients. We made a massive order to feed a large hungry family during a power outage. Almost every sandwich was badly screwed up. They were loaded with things not on the menu that my family didn't order and doesn't like. Most glaring example was my sandwich. I've attached screen shots of the online menu. Notice the nice and simple list of ingredients. Nowhere on the page does it mention onions or unknown special sauce type stuff. I received my sandwich and the first thing I noticed was the overpowering stench of onions. I can't consume onion products so the sandwich was already a lost cause. A closer look revealed some unknown other type of sauce that appeared very drippy and was making the mayonnaise run everywhere. Your paying $12 for a 6" steak and cheese sub with burnt steak (very skimpy on) and little very little cheese. Service is so terrible. 2 weeks ago I ordered through the app and the delivery driver didn't deliver my food to me at 111 Cochester at the main entrance at the hospital. First time getting a sub from Jersey Mike's, probably the last. I ordered a roast beef on rosemary parmesan bread. The bread is probably tasty when it is fresh. The amount of roast beef and cheese is very light and I would suggest ordering the 'extra' amount. No choice of cheese, they only have provolone. The veggie options are lettuce, tomato and onion. My 82 year old Aunt struggled to say what she wanted on her sandwich due to her 5'2" height, your .25 inch thick plexiglass barrier, and your DAM MUSIC playing to loud. To her sandwich maker, be politer to your elderly patrons, because you're going to be one someday. I watched you treat two more elderly women the same as my Aunt "it's difficult to hear what you're saying." Tell the owner-manager to turn down the music, because you cannot hear the paying customers. Tasty subs with fresh ingredients. Jersey Mike's has gluten free subs and a vegetarian sub. I am gluten free. The roll does not crumble. Gluten free is taken seriously at Mike's. I decided to order Jersey Mikes this afternoon . The pick up time was 1:47 for two subs, one hot and one gluten free cold. I showed up at 1:50 and waited in the long pick up line. By the time I got to the front, they told me it would be 15 minutes. At this point, it's been about 45 extra minutes. People who came in after me were receiving theirs before I did. I went up to the counter again and was told 20 more minutes. I didn't end up receiving my food for an hour and a half after the original pick up time. When I got home, I went to eat the sub and realized I was given a sub that wasn't even what I ordered. Now my boyfriend is afraid to eat his as he's gluten free and is worried they messed up the bread too. Overall, I'm extremely frustrated by the lack of communication and receiving the wrong food after waiting an extra hour and a half. read more
