I have never visited this establishment and I was quite taken with the quality of service, the lovely displays of foods, and the affordable products. I ordered a half of a roast beef sandwich which was more than enough to satisfy my hunger and my daughter ordered a whole turkey sandwich that was loaded with fresh turkey, cheese and coke slaw . The guys at VT Meat and Seafood have never steered me wrong. From the Maple Steak Tips to their secret recipe brats and sausages, or all the cuts of meat and fresh fish in between (trout pate, what?) it's always great here. Even if you only have a theme of what you're after, they'll build you dinner start to finish. A focused selection of fresh produce, dry goods, and a wide variety of sauces, spices and oils set you up to prepare any of the proteins they sell in the store. Not to mention the wide selection of beers, wines and ciders in stock at all times. Oh, and there's a deli doing sandwiches to order all day - all of which are awesome (try the turkey/sliced apple / etc one), and odds are you'll stumble into a tasting of some kind from one of their vendors or another. And the holiday special combos. And the fact that you can special order any cut of pretty much anything in advance. And the miniature pies and giant peanut-butter balls at the counter... and... and... and you get the idea. No matter what you're looking for, it's probably here. Yay for one of the most delicious sandwiches I have ever eaten. Seriously. The woodchuck was a glorious combination of Boars Head roast beef, bacon, horseradish and mayo with veggies. The price tag was a bit hefty (10$), but the sandwich was large enough to be two sandwiches so it was aptly priced. The store has a good selection of meat and seafood. I hate having to downgrade my rating but we were disappointed by a notable decrease in quality since the first time we were here several years ago. We actually got the exact same sandwiches as in my original review. They definitely seemed smaller. The bread was huge compared to the amount of meat used and dominated the sandwich. The roast beef was nowhere near as good. And my turkey sandwich was just slathered in so much mayonnaise it was difficult to eat. What is surprise it was to find this place! We were shopping and consulted YELP to find a place to eat as we were unfamiliar with his part of Burlington. This place came up on the search grid and we decided sandwiches sounded good and we give it a try Well we are awfully glad we did. This place is hard to describe: more than a sandwich shop, more than a deli, not exactly a grocery store but full of select and choice foods and drinks. Someone there owns a very fine crystal ball that tells them exactly what they should put in the store and what they should leave out, because they have everything we liked and nothing junky in the whole place. You might find this on yelp and go there thinking you're going to get a sandwich, but you will probably come out with some exquisite homemade food, maybe with an international or Epicurean taste, which will astound you while you sit in your car and eat it. VM&S has always been one of my favorite local markets...I've shopped here for years and have always received friendly and knowledgeable service whether I'm buying a sandwich or a couple fancy steaks (and scallops, and salmon and steak tips - oh my!) Last week I called in a special order for the holiday. The gentleman that took my request was amazingly helpful, gave me great suggestions and helped me decide between a couple of ways they could deliver for me. When I went in today to pick it up, the place was HOPPING!!!! Like a bunch of happy elves, all hands on deck and they're all busy with customers. Despite the holiday rush, my entire interaction was so positive. Like I was the only customer in the shop - one of the team spent quite a while helping me choose wine to pair with my feast. Oh? A surprising discovery! Nice clean, friendly place. The seafood chowder was delicious. The sub was made just how I like it. I will definitely go back again when in the area. I found this place shortly after they opened and a Vermontopia deal (thanks guys!) brought me in more frequently. I have tried a variety of their meats and seafoods and am happy to report that Vermont Meat and Seafood fills a void in the Williston area. I don't buy seafood from the local chain grocery stores as I worry about the quality of foods that are portrayed as being "fresh". Everything at Vermont Meat and Seafood is quite fresh, with fish deliveries on Tuesdays and Fridays of every week and local meats coming in all the time. They also have a nice selection of vegetables, side dishes, wine, and specialty beers. A number of the meats are also marinated so you only have to mindlessly start the oven or grill when you get home. The owners are friendly and they are there all the time. I feel quite welcome when I am shopping there. The price is align with what you will pay for local meats in this area but it's worth it to support local businesses. A Vermontopia deal may have brought me in but I will no doubt be frequenting this business as there are so many things to love about it! read more

Service alone I'd give ten stars. Seriously, they are the happiest most helpful market staff I have ever encountered, every single time. There is always a genuine greeting and someone to guide you in your decision making. The quality of the meat and seafood is excellent; they also have great stuff that is already marinated and skewered if your in a bind for time. The selection is always vast and they have wine, beer, cheese and some produce as well. While it isn't a fully stocked grocery, it certainly hits most vital points. Be sure to get a peanut butter ball if they have one. Also they sell the plymouth cheeses there and they are a delight! The prices are good and they always have something that tempts me. They certainly have my stamp of approval, my number one for meat and seafood in the greater Burlington area. read more

I've told them six months ago I was done buying beer there, which is a shame, because they have a nice selection. On average, I'd say they charge $1-2 more PER CAN than any competitor. You can go to Shaw's down the street and get Sip of Sunshine for $4 less per four pack than you can here. Yesterday, my wife was in a hurry and stopped in there to buy some beer for me. We pretty much stopped eating meat regularly so that we could afford to come here a few times a month. Get the Maple Steak Tips, some seaweed salad, and a mini pie and you'll never go anywhere else. They can get you anything, just ask. They also go the extra mile in that they'll not only prepare stuff for you, but they'll also toss it on their George Foreman grills or steamers for you. If I am really short on time, there is always a beautifully prepared vegetable as well. Yes, it's more expensive than supermarket prices (I couldn't shop here everyday!) BUT the quality is superior.
