We made a quick stop in here while visiting the Burlington, VT area. This is pretty much your standard, average grocery store. This Shaw's is a fairly good size, but not one of the bigger markets I have been in. We came in on a Sunday afternoon, but fortunately there were a lot of registers open. That's always a good sign and we got out of the sore quickly. This store has a small fresh flower section. It's nice to see they have a small organic and naturals department up front. This store also has an Osco Pharmacy, that's always handy to have at the grocery store. read more

Very poor service. Called twice to see if there were going to have fried chicken in case. They told me both times yes , they even checked with manager .. Drove out of my way. Just so the deli manager could tell me sorry. We don't have fried chicken here .. no one is helpful at all there .. no wonder they are rated 2.9 read more

I just moved to the Williston area. Went to the Shaw's on moving day to get a few groceries. The young man checking me out saw that I was hurriedly trying to bag my groceries as there were other customers waiting. I asked....you don't help bag? He said no the store is short staffed. So he stood and watched me instead of helping me. At the next register someone on staff WAS helping bag a customer's order. I apologized to the customer who was waiting that I was holding her up. Not a good first impression! Not sure I need to go there again when there are other options in the area. read more

Writing a review for a grocery store is a bit unusual but in this case necessary. Shaw's in Williston is basically falling apart, the place is filthy, ceiling falling down and coolers failing. I know of a customer who brought a package of meat to the front showing the employees there were maggots inside! They have young folks in charge who basically do nothing while a couple of other employees try so hard to keep things together. It's sad that he store is so terribly mismanaged and I believe they will be losing regular customers. read more

Normally I don't bother reviewing food chains. However lately Shaws has impressed me with their customer service and they even god rid of their annoying savings card! Thank god! Less clutter in my wallet! As I said above customer service at this location has been GREAT! No complaints at all. All of the employees have been great to deal with. If I have a question on where to find the item not only do they tell me where it is but they even bring me to it! That tells me customers come first. That is how it should be! Item selection here is also pretty good. I try and get items that have less sodium to be a little bit more of the "healthy" side of things! I have been able to find low sodium bread, meats and even pasta sauce! This is a huge plus for me. The produce has even been better as of late. But that could be the season too. So where do they lose a star? Well really it would be a half star! Its simple. Pricing. Like any other major chain store they have better sales then its competitor on certain things. While Hannafords well sell the opposite items for a little bit cheaper. BUT they would gain a half star for getting rid of that annoying savings card. In our day and age the card holds NO spot anymore. So thumbs up to Shaw's for going in the right direction! So this Shaws has now over taken the spot for my "normal" grocery store. They offer great customer service and the company as a whole has made some great changes! Lets hope they continue down this path! (Really its a 4.5 stars. Since becoming part of the group owning Albertsons and Safeway chains, the local Shaws is less cluttered and cleaner. No need to navigate the aisles carefully. Also, store-brand products are being replaced by the Safeway Lucerne dairy and O Organic lines. My only real complain is the removal of self-checkout and the lack of open registers in the evenings after work. A few times I've nearly abandoned my cart because out of 14 registers, only 4 were open. There were a few Shaws employees walking around the store, straightening product on shelves, filling endcaps. They would have been better used at the registers to get people checked out. read more

This is for their floral department. Went on Valentine's day to get flower arrangement and was told there were no roses left, but 2dozen roses sat in an abandoned cart right in the dept. So when I grabbed those and took them up the lady actually YELLED at me and said they weren't for sale!!! I got carnations instead but then when I asked for them to be wrapped I got an attitude, and the girl behind me also wanted her carnations wrapped but this same lady refused and said my flowers were the "last ones she was doing" and made the girl go get a prepackaged wrap to do it herself! So rude!! She shouldn't work in customer service if she doesn't want to serve the customer or even be respectful to them! I will NEVER buy here again!! read more

We visited Shaw's on our first night in Vermont to load up on drinks and snacks. This place was very clean and well-organized, and they had tons of Fresca! Yay! Seems like a nice grocery store. read more

The sale price (mix 'n' match) did not come up when scanned. The front end person with the key did not just override it and I had to ask for the manager. The manager, instead of just apologizing and correcting the prices, got aggravated when I complained the computers should be programmed properly. Geez, sorry for pointing out that you're the manager and get to listen to complaints from some very upset customers. Hey, Josh, this is the second time in a row I bought mix 'n' match sales items and not all of them came up with the right price. You lost a $30 sale today to Hannaford's across the street. read more

The employees at this Osco pharmacy are ALWAYS nice and friendly. It's the only reason I drive out of my way to use this drug counter for my prescriptions. There was one time where they took my name wrong from the prescription which required some re-work but they apologized up and down for the error and hooked me up with the prescription quickly. read more

I tend to split my grocery shopping between Shaw's and Hannaford across the street. While Shaws has the best selection of dry goods of any of the area supermarkets, their produce section is the only area that is lacking in terms of quality. Checkout wait times are low, and the store is pretty clean. I haven't done any price comparisons, but I think that might be one of the reasons it tends to be less packed than other stores. read more

My wife went here today & said what a great selection of food items they had, also produce looked better than Hannaford's for this time of year. But it all went down hill with very slow checkout help, and no help bagging $250 worth of groceries. Unacceptable and not unusual. read more

I don't often post these reviews, but had such a great experience I wanted to make sure I shared. We purchased two lobsters but were told their steamer was down, and that they could steam them just as well in the microwave. Well.... We got home and they were raw! When I called back to talk with the seafood department about our issue, they were wonderful! Gordy, the Manager, was very apologetic, accommodating, and went above and beyond to make up for our poor experience. We want to thank him, and we will keep shopping there for sure!
