I live in Philly, but the Vermont version of the Philly Cheesesteak they make was absolutely delicious, tho the meat wasn't as tender, the flavor was great. They get the job done. It's a shame what this place has become. What used to be an amazing locally owned deli with affordable prices has now given in to the corporate greed of sugarbush and Alterra. The one star reviews are accurate. The quality of ingredients in the deli sandwiches has degraded substantially, the prices have gone up, and the atmosphere is gone. The pre made selection has been forgotten. Grabbed a tuna mac the other day from the fridge and it was over a week old. The last deli sandwich I got was a blt that was uncut. Having to rip it apart myself, it was disgusting and made a mess. The service is ok, but the managers don't seem happy with their jobs. Will not be going back soon and recommend you support real local spots in the area. read more

Worst BLT ever. The bacon was all fat, I had to pick it apart to try and salvage it. The lettuce was brown and gross in some parts, the tomatoes were light pink and mealy, and they're was way too much mayonnaise. Was a waste of my time waiting for them to cook it, seeing as how the sandwich was cold.. don't know why it took so long for them to make it seeing as i was the only one there. As someone with a condo at claybrook who visits Paradise a lot, it's unfortunate how bad the quality has become. read more

I'm done with this place. Last time I went in, a bottle of Tropicana orange juice set me back $9. I was too shocked at the price to say anything so I dealt with the highway robbery and moved on. Today I had to grab dishwasher detergent and it was almost $12 for a 25 pack. The exact same product today on Walmart.com was $5.25. I don't mind paying a bit more for convenience, but over 100% mark ups that they're charging is just outrageous. They also are spotty with actually marking prices on the shelves so it's always a surprise when you cash out. I strongly support small businesses and local shops- but I won't be back here. read more

We went here because it looked like a cute place to grab lunch, and we found that the staff is incredibly rude. We placed a sandwich order and decided a few minutes later to order a side salad, and the staff berated us for ordering twice. After we paid and were waiting for our food, they continued to talk loudly to each other about how annoying and stupid we were to order twice. I've never felt so ridiculed, belittled, and uncomfortable ordering food before, especially in what is basically a glorified bodega. If you're on the mountain, this is the most convenient little store to pick up anything you might need like wine, beer, or some food. Also, a deli sandwich and deviled eggs. In the winter, there's no real place to sit and eat, so it's more take-out, and in the summer they have a few picnic tables. read more

Don't let this 70s-dated-gas-station-looking joint fool you. Their food is excellent. Sandwiches made to order in the middle of Nowhere, Nature. I ordered a turkey, Vermont Maple bacon, cheese with chipolte mayo and was impressed by not only how delicious it was but by how wonderfully warm my lips were left feeling. I left very satisfied and was glad to find that fellow Yelpers before did not steer me wrong by giving this place excellent marks. Paradise Deli deserves them. My husband and I stopped in and grabbed subs after a morning of splitting wood. We were very pleasantly surprised by the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. They took our order & promptly crafted our culinary delights. As we waited, I looked around the kitchen (being the germaphobe that I am. ) There was nothing at all that was even minutely alarming to me as far as cleanliness! Everything about the store is clean and organized-that is VERY important to me. My husband paid for everything as I was checking everything out. The prices are just another pleasant surprise! Fresh, delicious food at these prices is not easy to come by! When he was finished taking care of the bill, our food was done and we were on our way! We took the goodies home and anxiously opened our provisions... they were absolutely delicious! Not one of us was able to finish our sub-thankfully, we will revisit those later. One of the other reviewers got it spot-on, the Warren Store is "cooler" I guess, but the Philly cheesesteak here is the best I have ever had outside of Philly. You gotta get the Jo-Bee sauce on it, or it ain't complete! The steak is tender, the cheese is just right, and the onions and mushrooms make it a sloppy mess, and it is perfect! This place is a good stop if you are staying somewhere on the mountain and you forgot something. We have primarily had to make runs to Paradise for matches, hot chocolate, sandwiches, and beer. The selection is mediocre, but there are beer, food, sandwich and snack options. I have had a few sandwiches from here, which were all good. I can also always pick up my skiing staple of Peanut M&Ms on my way home from the mountain at Paradise! read more

Excellent service. Very kind folks behind the register and at the deli counter. I am can only able to comment on the turkey sandwich, which was excellent. Turkey was clearly roasted on the spot and was delicious on wheat bread. My father also had a turkey sandwich and was impressed. i would definitely recommend this spot. Because they have non-typical open hours, the staff varies a lot. Some staffers are saints, but not all of them. Usually the staffers are friendly and helpful. The glass case with the already prepared "take-outs" is a tease at the front cash register. Dishes of green slaw, spicy deviled eggs, a tiny potato salad are tempting. My fave sandwich is the grilled ham and egg, with or without cheddar. The old-style sub, the Philly Cheese Steak is a total winner. If (big "if") they have just baked bread, get a loaf. Good deli meats from first class butchers. The hot Italian ham, capicola, is a marvelous substitute in subs for regular ham. Beers in the refrig cases are always fresh. I worked at Sugarbush in the 97-98 season and other than hitting my remote stashes of Pow-Pow on my way down the mountain at the end of the work day from the top of a lift line was stopping by Paradise and making a selection of their wonderful menu. They had this AWESOME reuben sandwich but in a hoagie form. Too much almost for your money. Great employees, great food and good prices. I went up last year and last week to ski and was just about the highlight of the trip other than the Mountain. A+++++++ a great little piece of Vermont the big corporations haven't ruined with greed. So much gets said about The Warren Store, but this is the place to go for sandwiches! My Philly husband says the cheesesteak is incredible. Wonderful coffee selection, always fresh! Their breakfast sandwiches are great, as are the cookies and doughnuts. The store has everything you need, and if you're in town for a few days, grab some turkey from the Deli. It's not like the typical Deli stuff...they roast their own turkey, so it's like Thanksgiving Day-After! The people are friendly and the prices are reasonable! read more
