This was a recommendation from my sister who visits the area often. I was passing through and had to stop. Plus, not eating a real meal for a day, I was starving. They have seating outside or indoors. You go in and order at the counter and then they give you a buzzer to get your food. I was traveling with my dog and didn't want to take her inside to get my food. the staff was great and brought my food outside for me and even gave my fur baby a treat! The horseradish burger was delicous. I got it with french fries. Everything tasted great! The topping to a great meal is The Scoop ice cream shop is attached to Archies. My wife and I went there yesterday with our daughter and our grandson and we were not disappointed. We visited the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory and I asked someone working there where to go for lunch and they suggested Archies. It's counter service but they were very quick to assist me with carrying our food to the table. I was going to make two trips, but they assisted without being asked. We got the chipotle sirloin, chipotle chicken, turkey burger, and childs Mac and cheese. All were very good. I would definitely go back. read more

Food was excellent. But the upfront tipping is ridiculous. In fact I seen no reason to tip at all. You stand and order . You get buzzed and pick up your meal. Vegetarian review! I heard a lot about this burger joint in Shelburne however I wasn't a huge fan. My friends and I tried the falafel burger and the smoky black bean burger. My meat eating friend also tried the meat ones however wasn't a huge fan either, however, did like the pineapple twist in the one he tried. The burgers are really dry and a little expensive for what you're getting. I do have to say the ambiance is great as it shares a space with the Spot, an ice cream place, in a field of games/outdoor seating. Not bad...not great. When you buy a pound of beef at the grocery store and throw it in your frying pan it tastes about the same as that. I've been up and down their menu and never been fully impressed although sometimes the onion rings are really great. The original owner had a great attitude, but the new management is not nearly as friendly unless they know you. There are much better options for burgers in the area now. Still, could be worse. Their ice cream spot next-door is at a much better level of quality. Have no complaints about that! read more

This place is awesome! It's small, but they have a very decently sized menu full of amazing options. The dining area is nice and clean and the music is played at a perfect volume; it's audible and enjoyable without blasting. My mom had the Lake Monster hot dog, I had the Vermont Bacon Cheeseburger, and we both got shakes. We loved our lunch, the milkshakes were fantastic, and the person behind the counter was very friendly! I even went back up to the counter to buy some bags of their homemade potato chips to bring home. We loved those as well (though I would love to see a plain salted option someday! Cheesy is nice, but regular salted chips would be SO good) and my partner who I brought a bag home for was delighted. We're looking forward to coming back (hopefully with my partner in tow some time, as from what we've seen there's no shellfish on the menu and will be safe)! I should have known not to order the milkshake. I waited 20 minutes while 5 guys behind the counter twiddled their thumbs. Then, one asked me..."Are you waiting for something?" Shocked that they were so attentive, I reminded them about my order then, realizing they were clueless, I asked for a refund (along with my upfront 20% tip.). At this point the guy yelled at one of the other clueless guys to "Get the milkshake, Dude!!" I told them I was late for my next thing and asked again for a refund. Five grown men had to call for their manager to do a refund. This was 3:00 PM when nothing else was going on. It's not like they were busy. They were just clueless. Well....although I've enjoyed stopping here many times on my way home I will NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!! Food is good and prices are decent. Stopped in on a slow Thursday night. There were about 8 people inside eating and the usual staff is in the kitchen. I was notified that any food would be AN HOUR WAIT....what? Huh? How can this be? He pointed to a cue of about 10-15 order tickets lined up for online/ pickup. Ok... but the grill had like 4 burgers on it!!! It makes no sense. After I walked out there was a family with kids turned away that came out just as dumbfounded and disappointed as me. Hey Archie's- here's a tip for you-- maybe don't turn away customers that made an effort to come to you! It's much nicer to turn away customers that call on the phone. I Headed on up to Bliss Bee instead, where they also serve very good local meat burgers and I had mine in 10 minutes with 3 times the people eating in and multiple to go orders on the shelf. read more

This was a chipotle burger, mushrooms and Swiss, your choice of side and a fountain drink. Under 10 bucks. Half price hot wings. 8.00. Can't go wrong and these sure did rock. Spicy maple syrup. Loved them. Give a shout out for the home made chips. Excellent crunch and flavor. Also enjoyed the onion rings. Everyone was well satisfied with their burgers. We were a group of 7. Took longer cause we ended up feeding our granddaughter. We were there a long time and at no time did they make us feel uncomfortable. Just the opposite. Cute place. We stopped by for burgers and drinks outside and enjoyed it until it rained. You have to go inside to order and they'll give you a buzzer-- which they take very very seriously! There's a nice condiment station and there are all kinds of meat options as you make choices. I added on a glass of rose which I enjoyed with my turkey burger meal. I had no idea they had fries, I seemed to have skipped that on the menu. But for 1.00 more you can add them. I ended up adding a side of fries after being disappointed with the chips so I only have minus one star for not knowing that. There's an ice cream shop attached that's super awesome as well. Weird ordering system, bad customer service, a blonde lady in charge was very rude and looked like she hated customers. She was very unprofessional and gave us several dirty looks. Our cider and beer were extremely flat, our burgers were ok but our sides were disgusting. The coleslaw looked and tasted a week old. Tonight I ordered takeout from Archie's and I asked if the Greek salad had carrots on it because my wife is allergic. The woman I talked to named Kristen guaranteed there were no carrots on the salad. When I brought the food home, my wife opened it up and there were carrots everywhere. I even tasted one to make sure and it was definitely a carrot. So I called back and Kristen argued with me that there are no carrots on the salad. She said it was roasted red peppers. We see the roasted red peppers and what we were referring to was not that. So instead of refunding us for the salad, she rudely hung up on me. Always a pleasure since the day they opened at the old location!! I was pleasantly surprised to find a new thing, Taco Tuesdays!! Though I came to satisfy a hankering for a burger, it was a tough call and difficult to resist the lure of the tacos. Service with a smile, and the cashier even acknowledged a family member who had a special occasion coming up that he overheard. That was very nice of him. The burgers are consistently incredible and a solid third place in the list of my favorite burger joints. No matter what the topping, the execution is great in both taste and texture. Never overloaded and spilling with veggies or sauce like some places. Boylan's root beer as well as Hinesburg's own Frost beer are on tap-- wow!! What more can I say?
