Not a lot of parking but a quick in and out will do if you're lucky to find some. There's outfit seating but not a lot. We ordered two sandwiches. The chicken salad was better than the meatballs but they were yummy. Large servings as well. The service was nice and as quick as it could be while busy. read more

Great, and unique sandwich selection. Three trips here in two years and nothing but compliments - especially for #6!! Have yet to try their baked goods, but there sure were a lot of satisfied customers leaving with some baked delights. Staff is super friendly as well. Good food in a great atmosphere - pretty much a winning formula all the way around. read more

This place is so delicious! Make sure you stop and get a soup sandwich or one of their yummy salads or desserts.

Visited this place twice on a recent trip. First time was around lunch time and very good - a bit of a wait but we didn't mind. The second time we went just after they opened and the woman behind the deli was not very friendly. My husband is a vegetarian so we asked if we could get a breakfast sandwich without the meat. She said sure (awesome!) but then still charged us for the meat (not so awesome). The sandwich was okay. Just a warning to vegetarians - there are much better options in the area. read more

Edelweiss Mountain Deli is a must-stop. The sandwiches are fresh, generous, and made with quality ingredients, perfect fuel for a day in the mountains. The staff is friendly and efficient, even when things get busy. Casual, no-frills atmosphere with big flavor. Exactly what you want in a great local deli. read more

Great sandwich shop. Stopped in 9/25/23 around 1pm. Four people ahead of us ordered and we placed our order for a #2 and a #10. Got in line to pay and had our orders before we finished paying. Walked outside and found a high top table available to enjoy the Classic Reuben and Dano's Italian sub. Grabbed some mayo and mustard where you order for the sub. We did not se any place to eat inside but the day was pleasant 65F so no problem eating outside. Otherwise we would have to eat them in the car or take them back to the resort. Will be back. read more

Sandwiches are great. Line can get long at lunch time and peak season. We split a sandwich between the two of us but felt it was short of a full lunch. read more

The man taking our order was very friendly. We came at lunch so it was pretty busy, we still only had to wait about 20 minutes for our sandwiches. We ordered the chicken pesto and Italian (#4 and #10); both were very tasty and filling. Good place to go if you want a quick lunch. read more

Delicious sandwiches! Cute little convenience store. The man at the front was not super friendly but friendly enough. Would recommend

Skimpy, overpriced sandwiches. My Italian sub had very few slices of meat. My friend's tuna melt was a bit more substantial, but not worth returning for. I don't remember being so disappointed years ago. Reading these reviews, it's clear the new owners are trying to reduce costs and it shows. They're probably getting away with it due to there being no other nearby sandwich shop. read more

This place is a consistent winner over a number of years. Excellent sandwiches and pastries. Outdoor picnic tables work well for a family. Service is fast. I find most delis only OK. This one is a couple cuts above. read more

Take out sandwiches and bakery items for both breakfast and lunch. Fresh ingredients and homemade. Order and made while you wait. Picnic tables for eating outside. A small store for extras and beer and wine. We had the Reubens. Delicious sandwiches! 10-10 read more

We stopped here on a whim after a long hike on Mount Mansfield. I'm so glad we did because this was by far one of our favorite places in Stowe. They have a bunch of amazing sandwiches and other baked goods at the deli. I had the pastrami sandwich, and it was the best I've ever had in my life. In their store they have lots of local Vermont cheeses and desserts so it's a good place to stop if you're trying to load up on your way out of town. Their sandwiches were so good we went again just 18 hours later for another round. If you're looking for a place for lunch, I would highly recommend stopping here! read more

They've gone downhill. A lemon bar that doesn't taste like lemon. Sandwich descriptions online that don't match their in person menu. The turkey was dry, meatball sub was flavorless. Sigh. I don't know if it changed once it went on the market or what but the decline is a bummer. Staff was nice so that's a plus. read more

Very cute deli and grocery store I stumbled upon. I was looking for a good quick place to get a sandwich, I googled and was directed to Edelweiss. I looked around for a few and then put my order in at the deli. I ended up getting a tuna melt. I haven't had a tuna melt in years and was pleasantly surprised, the tuna salad had great flavor and they are not shy with their ingredients. Overall very good, next time I will try their soup and maybe some pre made items. read more

We had a meatball grinder, terrible, the bread was like a hot dog roll, the meat balls were gritty, sauce poor, and the cheese was hard to find. The cost was $2.00 more than the web site price. While waiting, everyone was so loud, attributed to the low ceiling, I guess. Not a pleasant experience. read more

Some of the rudest service and staff in a town with some of the loveliest people. We chose here because they stressed homemade. I asked if the Roast Beef was made in house or was it Deli. The guy making sandwiches snorted under his breath "yeah, we kill a cow a day". Dude. You are just freaking hilarious. But we really enjoyed your microwaved meatball sub and tasteless, god awful burrito. Enjoy my 40 plus dollars on lousy service and food. And If you hate tourists, who keep you in business, close shop! read more

We went here for lunch today and absolutely loved it! We had the chicken salad sandwich with bacon....SO GOOD! We also split a maple whoopie pie, and it was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten! It was a little dense, but the flavor was fantastic. I highly recommend stopping here for lunch! read more

After the quarantining, the hiking and the social distancing fun, we were all hungry in our rental at Stowe. And no, we're not going anywhere to eat inside. No, no, no. So we started looking at takeout places. And Edelweiss had quite a following. We called for four deli sandwiches to a most pleasant man, and the sandwiches were ready in fifteen minutes when we picked them up. Our sandwiches were a range of tastes and ingredients and yet everyone said they were delicious. I had the roast beef and it came in a Kaiser with cole slaw in the sandwich, lettuce, tomato, cheese, avocado and mustard. Really, finger-licking good. My cousin had the Lake Champlain a succulent bagel with Lox, Cream Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, and Bermuda Onion. My husband had the Dano's Italian Sub with Capicola, Ham, Salami, Provolone, Lettuce, Tomato & Onion, and my other cousin enjoyed the Tuna Melt with Vermont Cheddar. Seriously, some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. read more

They had decent sandwiches, but the one I ordered (BBQ turkey) was quite small for the price and lacking in the toppings department. I don't think I will return for a second visit any time soon. read more

A great Cubano sandwich. Had one to go and one there another day. No problem switching the tour of bread and mustard. Fair prices for a touristy area. read more

I used to eat lunch here often. The sandwiches were 2nd. To none! But since Alex sold the place. The sandwiches are air sandwiches and over priced! Well all good things must come to an end read more

We stopped in to have lunch and picked up some sandwiches. The deli meats were delicious and the flavors and bread offered were excellent. They really focus on the meat (hey it's a deli), so if you like more veggies on your sandwiches, consider one of their many vegan options or ask for a heavier veggie balance. The day we visited, they even had a tasting of Bar Hill gin. If local brews and sodas are more your style, they have a lot of selection here. The deli does not have seating, so be prepared with a nice spot to enjoy your food. In the summer, this could be one of the many outdoor spots for a picnic. read more

I would pass unless they improve... the grille was broken so many of the sandwiches not available and the chicken salad is served in a hamburger bun, sloppy and too much mayo/dressing. Nothing like the great looking sandwiches you see in their photos.... read more

Really liked this deli for a lunch takeout. We got the Stowe (corned beef) and the Montrealer (Montreal smoked meat). Both were delicious and $10 each, more reasonably priced. I would choose this place again for the quick grab and go lunch. read more

Where do I begin? I'm going to start with the maple whoopee pie. I gravitate to whoopee pies because they're like portion-controlled cake. Baked on the premises, this delectable pie was bursting with maple-ness - just exceptional (see photo of my last bite). For the main course I ordered the veggie sandwich. If I recall correctly it was #17, with fresh veggies and 3 different cheeses on sourdough. It, too, was delicious. When I first saw it I thought, "I'm going to have them wrap half of this and take it home" because it was so large. But before I knew it, I'd devoured the entire sandwich. Washed it all down with Mansfield Dairy's Chocolate Milk, which tastes like a milkshake it's so good. The store itself has a great vibe. While I was there I saw a lot of people come in who knew others in the store, making this a great community hangout - kind of what you'd expect in Vermont. Reminded me of the old general stores I used to frequent in the Adirondacks years ago. As someone who "occasionally" enjoys a good beer, I have to say that the beer selection was superb. Edelweiss Mountain Deli was the perfect ending to our visit to Stowe which also included stopping by The Alchemist Brewery and walking the Stowe Recreational Trail. A trip to Stowe would be incomplete without stopping in. read more

Edelweiss Mountain Deli - Maple Whoopie Pie - Grocery Near Me - Stowe, Vermont

Found this place while we were driving around after two days of trying to figure out what to eat for dinner. Everything is reasonably priced as opposed to where we're staying in Trapp Family Lodge where they want $25 for one chicken sandwich and deli sandwiches that who knows when they were made for $13.50. My Fiancé and I got a few sandwiches and a few pastries. Sandwiches were awesome and definitely worth the money. During our stay, we stopped in three times out of our five day stay. Employees will engage in conversation smile and be thankful. He returned to give them more business. read more

Great sandwiches, drinks selection, friendly place to pick up food you need to eat at home

Great little deli. Breakfast sandwiches were fresh and tasty. Lots of baked items as well.

We frequently stop at Edelweiss when we come up to visit family. It's a tad pricey, but that's expected in a "resort town" like Stowe. However, this time around we ordered three sandwiches - one was just a simple baloney, cheese and mustard - and ALL THREE were incorrect. Still good and satisfied the need for a quick lunch, but at $10 for an average sized sandwich, a bit disappointing. read more

Decent quality sandwich for the price. They look small but are packed full. The Barre with roast beef is okay, but it wasn't very flavorful. The Waldorf chicken salad was very good. The woman at the counter was super sweet. We will be back! read more

Why so rude? When I worked at Mt Top in 2011 this place used to be a big part of my existence and would always get huge thanks/tips for recommending to guests. Since returning to Stowe this year I've been so let down by the attitude of the proprietors. Always the long stares and one woman is so rude, it looks like it takes all her self control to not spit on you. The location and convenience couldn't be beat but apparently they don't want my business, so I'll take it elsewhere. To the owners: hire some nice people to work the deli/register if it's too difficult for you to put on a smile. I just don't get it. If you don't enjoy owning a deli, why do it? read more
