It is like they never recovered. The shelves are often empty, especially of sale items. Not just sometimes, almost every day. Recently we stopped four days in one week for a meat sale item and when they had none the management had one excuse after another. It has become so frustrating to shop and not find close to half of the items we're looking for forcing us to shop at another store. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pharmacy staff is exceptional and is the reason we still buy all of our prescriptions at this store. Basically we now buy almost all of our food at the local PRICE CHOPPER MARKET 32 that has everything we need on every visit at lower prices.

The store was very clean and you could tell that it was an older market, but the market still had many options to choose from. She was Not very polite, checked our things through and then stood back with her hands folded and watched us bag our groceries. I know a lot of stores have this as a mandatory thing now days, where you bag your own groceries. But she literally said nothing and didn't even try to help or be pleasant at all. I am really big on customer service, I put customer service over price every time. If I have a good experience shopping somewhere and the prices are a bit high but the customer service was great. For instance, we had a difficult time finding diet sodas. We found colorful organic carrots that I never before saw anywhere else. There is a very extensive fruit and vegetable department. They also carry Ben and Jerry's ice cream at a fraction of what you would pay at the factory. In general, prices are very reasonable. Shop here on your way to the ski slopes. It will be a small trek to go back and forth once you get to the mountains. Shaw's grocery stores are found in the major cities of the area like Montpelier and Stowe. Just try ripening a peach and compare it to the succulent beauties at Shaw's! Despite my highly repetitive diet, they are chronically out of stock on one thing or another. They use an unnamed 3rd party delivery service, and they are literally (nickel and) diming me to death with all the single foods getting its own bag! This added 10 cents each to my cereal and to my frozen pops for getting their own bags. The Vermont bag fee is about reducing bags by charging 10 cents to DISCOURAGE USE OF BAGS ON SINGLE ITEMS. The delivery service either does not know this or does not care.
