One time there was a small mis-hap with the way my groceries were packed last week. I called to inform them, not really to complain. They had a new person learning how to do it. Anyway they gave me a $20 coupon for my next visit. The website for ordering is not bad; it is daunting at first but once you have your regular items sorted out it's a breeze to create the next order. They also have a pretty good selection of organic, vegan, and dairy-free items.

It is like they never recovered. The shelves are often empty, especially of sale items. Not just sometimes, almost every day. Recently we stopped four days in one week for a meat sale item and when they had none the management had one excuse after another. It has become so frustrating to shop and not find close to half of the items we're looking for forcing us to shop at another store. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pharmacy staff is exceptional and is the reason we still buy all of our prescriptions at this store. Basically we now buy almost all of our food at the local PRICE CHOPPER MARKET 32 that has everything we need on every visit at lower prices.

Not only do they refuse to carry items that I know are carried…read moreby other Hannafords where I have shopped regularly before (and then the "customer service" rep here insists that they do in fact carry everything that every other Hannaford carries, and it is *I* that am mistaken!), but they are often out of basic staples that any grocer should have, large or small. Once, they were out of fresh basil. OK, I can see that -- it is perishable, it's an herb, you can sub the dried stuff, and they usually only keep a small stock anyway. But on that same day, they were out of strawberries. Well...I mean, it was the end of summer, but you can usually get them even in February in a large supermarket chain, right? Another time, I could not find a single banana that was not as green as the Vermont mountains in June. And the last time I was there, all the flat parsley (what little there was of it) had been freed from their little bindings...and, thus liberated, had been strewn, bruised and battered, all over the other produce. The cilatnro, in particular, were not amused. So *maaaaybe* I can excuse being out of some produce...I mean, it is perishable and all, right? So you don't want to order too much and throw the rest out all the time... But what excuse can they give for being out of dried foods, like Near East Original Rice Pilaf? Jiffy corn bread mix? Press-and-Seal food wrap??!!? The Press-And-Seal, I am betting, does not even have an expiration date!!! Inexcusable. Clearly, they need new management. Particularly in produce, where every time I ask the produce manager to help me find something, she gives me the wrong answer ("no we don't have it" when they do) or I find it before she does. C'mon.

The selection is good at times but is rotten at other times when I comes to the produce. You really need to look at this if you want good fresh veggies. The staff always seems helpful. If you can not find something then ask! They will either bring you to it or point you in the right direction. Prices are hit or miss just like any other super market in the area. Some weeks its great and others its so-so. But the one thing that I do like about this place is the fact that you don't need to carry around a card to get the savings. Unlike Shaw's and Price chopper. So that's a nice plus! The only thing I hate about this location is the self check out machines. They never seem to work correctly. He was chatting to a lady at the bakery in this store and the tortoise wandered off down the chips aisle. When jack got his baked goods and looked around to find bob (the tortoise) he went into a panic and started taking his trousers off and shouting at the top of his lungs about contemporary politics. The manager came and helped really quickly and lucky we found bob pretty quickly before the local sheriff got involved.
