It's a chain, so the food is as I expected it to be. I do feel it is over-priced but the food is fresh. The staff is outstanding and when I've had issues with meals (nothing major), they have always corrected it. They managed to stay open during "quarantine" and made extra effort to provide meals safely with curb side pick up. I appreciate that. This has to be the WORST hotdog joint I've ever been to, and hands down the bottom rung for Burlington eateries. The food is grossly overpriced and very poor quality, the condiments were in packets, everything we touched was sticky and the space was filthy, we found the staff was rude and dismissive. Food came out incredibly quickly, but it was all downhill from there. I ordered a cup of soup and half the chipotle chicken avocado sandwich, with a baguette. The soup barely filled the cup and had about 3 small pieces of chicken in it. The sandwich was passable with hard crusts burnt on the side. The entire thing was over $10, which was laughable. Here I am at Panera hoping things change. But they never do the food. It's OK, but the dining room is a filthy mess as usual and the guy that cashed me out was the same guy that I've had a few times short little stocky guy don't know if he even had a name tag on. But waited to give me my change like he would count it out slowly like I was going to give him a tip which I always do but he doesn't know that, but it makes for a very uncomfortable minute. And it makes me laugh because it always says tips appreciate it but not expected. Wow this guy just with the look on his face did not be sure if he was going to yell at you if you didn't leave a tip Say something under his breath as he laughed very uncomfortable. Also, he doesn't seem to be able to stand up. He's leaning all over the counter like he's got back problems. First time at this Panera Bread. Second time I've been to one. Last time was years ago in North Carolina! I was on a yelping spree and was trying on deciding where I wanted to get a little bit for lunch, some place fast, easy and I wouldn't mind going solo to! I also have been wanting to compare my mac and cheese recipe to theirs, I had heard this mac and cheese recipe that I use is a copycat for Panera's. For the record : It is similar but the flavor is slightly off! This panera hasn't been there for too long, the place is pretty nice, clean and still new looking. I was a little confused by the table locator and wasn't sure how it worked. It's pretty simple - basically pick any seat and they will deliver your food to your table. The locator just tells them what seat you picked. I got the frontega chicken panini, mac and cheese and an apple with iced chai. The panini was good, chicken was tender, the sandwich meshed really well together and worked well with my side of mac and cheese, which was perfectly creamy and pretty damn yummy. The apple needed to be washed off, it still had a little grit/dirty or something on it. I just popped it in my purse and just remember now about it! The chai was okay, it was a little strong with one of the flavors and it ended up tasting a bit odd. Maybe it needed to be shaken up to mix things up a bit! The service was good, friendly and answered any questions I had. He didn't mind when I changed my mind a few times with ordering (Sorry!) As I was leaving a guy was picking up the plates around the trash area and he seemed really cool, polite and upbeat. I used the Panera app to order a salad and a drink for curbside pickup at 12:15 today. Drove over from my office and waited in the parking lot. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt because of the lunch rush, but at 12:55, I went inside the location to check on my order. The guy I spoke to told me that orders are taking about an hour. I said I had already placed my order about 45 minutes prior and asked if he could give me an estimate on when it would be out. He shrugged his shoulders and asked if I wanted my order cancelled. I told him if it hadn't been started yet, to go ahead and cancel it. Got an email from Panera saying I could expect my refund in 7-10 business days. Ridiculous. I won't be back. read more

We are on our honeymoon in Burlington, VT we stopped at the Panera on Shelburne RD for breakfast. When we walked in we saw these delicious looking cinnamon crunch scones and bear claws. We were going to order one of each when we noticed little black bugs crawling over the pastries. When we talked to the young man behind the counter he said, "oh yeah, we've been having a problem with them." We decided not to get any food just coffee. They were out of regular coffee. When we went back to inform the guy at the counter he had apparently informed his manager about the little black bugs and instead of removing the contaminated food items she just swished the bugs away. That point we just decided to leave. Didnt get the coffee or even request a refund just left. It was just disgusting. read more

Bacon, tomato grilled cheese is not GRILLED, cook says we have ovens, no grill. It was not even on barely warmed up toasted bread, still very soft. At almost 10 bucks the grilled cheese with bacon tomato should WOW you. This was another cost cutting attempt at fast food, and not a good one. The manager had to be called to redo our whole order. When our Togo order was finally ready we checked our bag & soup was missing. Panera's newest location in the Burlington area! I must say its gonna do well from what I can tell. For the new people in town or travelers to the Burlington area this used to be a Friendly's. It was old smelly and felt like it was gonna cave in around you! What Panera did this with location is just flat out amazing! They now have an open floor plan and a lot more setting! You will still find your classic fireplace, comfy chairs with a small coffee table and booths to pick from! A little something for everyone. They also offer free WiFi for their customers. (Hint hint college students!) The service here is very quick. We ordered our food before we sat down like at any other Panera and we went ahead and sat our selves. They had our food out to us within 10 minutes. The restaurant was very clean on top of that! Pricing here is also very fair. For one bread bowl and one sandwich we spent about $19.46. It's cheap and it taste good! My only complaint about Panera is the rewards card. Its more or less how it works. When we earn points it never seems to earn us anything that we would use. A few months ago we got a free smoothie...However we don't like smoothies so it did nothing for us. This past trip we got a free cookie....And we don't eat cookies all that much. What they should do is do what Subway does. earn points toward items you ORDER. Like subs, soup or other items that can be bought for a certain amount of points. Now this is not an issue with this location and this will not reflect on its score. So I have to give this location a 5/5 stars. I walked in AMAZED with what they did with this space. We love the always delicious, always changing Panera menu and stop there often when we visit Burlington. However one small thing keeps happening: if you order a hot drink in a paper cup, the cashier grabs it from under the counter with all 5 fingers around the rim of the cup. This is the same person who handles money or other items that are, at best, germ-laden. I'm no germaphobe, but this small habit can spread bacteria and viruses to anyone who uses that cup. I've reported it to HQ several times but the same unsanitary practice continues. A word to the wise: watch how your cup, which goes straight to your lips, is given to you. read more

Every time I go here my drinks are pristine and the customer service is the best I've ever had at a coffee shop. When you order a splash of almond or coconut milk they don't obnoxiously fill up an entire cup and charge extra for it. The cashiers are friendly and nice to talk to. Overall GREAT! read more
