A no laptop policy keeps things flowing and encourages folks to talk vs work. Breakfast menu is available all day while lunch starts at 11 and goes until close at 3p. We tried a few things: * croissant - super flaky and perfectly made. * breakfast sandwich - with sausage. Buttery and crispy edges toast with fried egg and melted cheese with sausage. One of my favorite breakfast sandwiches ever. * banner eighteen - a play on cheesesteak with broccoli mushrooms and shaved steak in a sesame hogie. This one had slight spice and a slight taste reminiscent of a combination pizza. It's a big sandwich and quite tasty. * oatmeal raisin cookie - not too sweet which I loved. Chewy. * fresh baquette. Bread . . . . . * maple lemonade - slightly sweet with a good bit of tartness. It was good! I'd definitely comeback here if I'm craving some sandwiches

We tried the eat the east breakfast sandwich ($11) and the vermonter sandwich ($16). I especially liked the vermonter sandwich and the bread it came on. The cafe also sells various bread items and baked goods. One thing to note is that since the cafe is counter-serve, seating is also first come first serve. We were able to snag a seat right as someone left, but for that reason I would recommend coming at a less peak time if able. August First is deservedly a busy spot in Burlington and I would be there often if I were a local.

This was mainly due to the great service and delicious meals ordered by each of us in our family of three. Our table was never left waiting and the food was served hot. Our meal choices were varied, including apps such as steak tartar and cheddar ale soup for one and the meatloaf plate and the turkey burger for the others. Everything was made with original flavor additions such as homemade sauces, fresh breads, and unique use of herbs and spices. Lastly, I was told to mention that the hand cut fries were exceptional. Since we visit Burlington often, we look forward to returning to the Farmhouse to try other dishes on their menu or just ordering the same meals since they were so good. We all agreed that this restaurant has definately moved to the top of the list for our next trip to Vt.

I've tried the Iraqi Turkey, Lebanese Lamb, and Sicilian Eggplant, which have all been excellent! I think the prices are worth the flavor and taste. Plus, the gentleman running the restaurant is very kind and makes the sandwiches by himself. It is cash only! It has very eccentric decorations haha, but it's fun to look at. I waited 20-30 minutes for my three sandwiches and that felt like a reasonable wait time for how it's a one man show. Definitely would recommend!

We were told it'd be ~20 minutes wait but we read the reviews and knew it could possibly take a little longer (it took ~45 minutes). We saw several parties come in and he actually had to turn some away, I'm assuming because it's only him working. For my Vermont Turkey sandwich, I asked for no mustard since I don't really like mustard but he told me that it's part of the secret recipe so I requested for light mustard. To my surprise, the mustard was really good and complemented the sandwich! Everything about the sandwich was perfect: the bread, the cuts of meat, the veggies. The sandwiches here are definitely a work of art and made the trip to Vermont very memorable!

Unsafe food and no accountability--won't be returning…read more The staff were friendly, and our server was kind and polite. I ordered the Love Shack Burger (server's recommendation), while my friends had a salad and a BLT. Unfortunately, the bacon on my burger was dangerously under cooked--translucent, white gray fat rubber corners (1/3 cooked) and clearly it not safe to serve or eat. I politely pointed it out, and I did not give her a hard time at all I was in too good of a mood. The server asked if I wanted more bacon (...yes, obviously). Yes, she said sorry, but no manager came to apologize, and no one offered anything to make it right. Do I want more bacon? Yes! After waiting 10-15 minutes, nothing arrived, so I just ate the burger without the bacon. It was pretty good, but the experience was already soured. When I was halfway through my burger, the server returned to say the bacon was "coming soon." At that point, it was too late. I told her not to bother it was too late. Amazed she didn't take anything off the bill. One of my friends who ordered the BLT looked more closely. Two of his bacon slices were not cooked either. RAW looking. Come on - clearly under cooked bacon in a BLT? Unacceptable. He removed 2 under cooked slices himself. BTW - We both had funny stomach issues afterward. Shocker. No comp, no apology, no accountability. Unsafe food is unforgivable, and the lack of concern from the kitchen and management is unacceptable as it means they think it is OK Wrong. We won't be returning. Restaurant Impact - My friend lives 1/2 mile away - restaurant loses customers - never returning (I guess that is why it wasn't as busy as the other restaurant next door.

After a long travel day we were happy to have some delicious food. The space was clean and had plenty of room to sit. Our server was very kind and patient. I love Vietnamese food, especially noodle bowls, so I got the bun dac biet. Nate got the spicy curry and my friend got the tofu noodles. We also ordered the dumplings to share. The menu is large and has lots of vegetarian options. The bun dac biet was a large portion and I was starving, but I even had leftovers (that were great the next day). The noodles were tender and the sauce was flavorful. All the meat was cooked nicely, and I loved the crispy egg roll. If I lived nearby, this would be a go-to spot for me.
