This is such a lovely place. Great service, nice atmosphere and amazing food! We had beef banh mi. The bread is perfect--crunchy but soft, fresh and delicious. Ample filling, seasoned perfectly with a bit of a kick. And they looked like works of art. Overflowing with goodness. We also had a beef sambosa. Wow! Sort of like a Vietnamese empanada (or the similarly named Indian Samosa). But so crispy and such delicious filling. Simply heavenly. And that's what characterizes this place, simplicity, an elegant, sunny airy (high-ceilinged) space that just shouts freshness, and delicious food. Highly recommended. Food is flavorful! I got their beef bahn mi and chicken spring rolls, delicious! The Vietnamese coffee soo good too, sweet but have nice strong coffee taste! They were very nice and quick! Ambiance is really nice as well, not just having plenty of space but all the details of the decor and furniture, spot on! read more

Air conditioning is overwhelming, very cold air blowing into customer space. It is warmer by the cashier and probably more in the kitchen--but even then the cashier is wearing a sweatshirt saying yeah it gets cold in here. This is controllable. Also, although it is called a café, the only coffee comes out of a thermos/brewed coffee machine, no actual caffeteria for espresso or lattes etc, and then they add evaporated or coconut milk etc. I give it three stars because there is a food menu and that might be better than the coffee and experience. It is a really pretty place and the cashier was nice. read more

Had the beef stew with egg noodles and iced jasmine tea. Stew was rich, flavorful and spicy. Noodles were like rice noodles with butter, not the flat noodles I expected, still delicious. Tea was OK, I wish I had more due to the heat of the stew. Looking forward to my next visit. read more

The place is super duper adorable but the food was not good. We got the bahn mi sandwich boxes with rolls and sauce. The sandwich was way too rich with mayo and fish sauce. The meats tasted old and dry even though slathered with mayo and fish sauce. The rolls were too oily and noodles inside were too crunchy and old tasting. Not worth the calories. Maybe it's a bad day for them but I don't think we will be back. read more

Got a banh mi from this place the presentation and smell were pretty good but the taste was god awful tasted like literal garbage.

I've been here 3 times now it's awesome. I've had a few different things here but the stand outs are the classic Bahn Mi (very nice homemade roll) and Vietnamese Beef Stew (Bo Kho). What a spot! I was in the hunt for a quick lunch, and they delivered! A delicious banh mi that doesn't not go lightly on the fillings. I had the beef variety and it was quality pieces of meat, not budget fatty pieces. Sauced just right and delicious pickled and fresh veggies. The inside is very pleasant and calm. We had the bahn mi--one chicken and one beef. Both were quite yummy. The marinade was flavorful and interesting. I would ask for extra spice next time, but have no complaints. They were not too sweet (a common problem in America) and not too bready (another common problem). The cafe itself was comfortable with a variety of seating options (traditional tables, high-tops, and casual armchairs around a low table. There are plenty of plants (living and plastic) and lots of light. The bahn mi were served in disposable paper clamshells. read more

Wowza - I've been on the hunt for the best bahn mi in Vermont, and I finally found it! Stuffed full of all the goodies included great meat, lots of cilantro, jalapeños, and picked veggies - I ate it too fast. The spring rolls are also the best I've had - ever. A terrific addition to the community. Despite an excellent sandwich culture in Vermont and a vibrant Vietnamese food scene, there had not been much banh mi in Chittenden County until now! The banh mi sandwiches here are amazing, very well crafted and seasoned on delicious French bread. The sandwiches are filling to be sure, but also refreshing enough for a workday lunch. The cream cheese tiger rolls made for the perfect accompaniment. The space here is excellent. The indoor space has the trappings of an airy California cafe. Outside the door there is a well appointed patio with three small tables. The family that runs Sarom's is incredibly kind, attentive, and accommodating. They make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Hoping this place sticks around for years to come! read more
