If you'd pay just an additional $3 dollars, you'll can get a bigger, more amazing double cheeseburger that includes every fresh topping imaginable - including grilled onions and jalapeños. The fries are good too, and even the "little fry" size is a big serving. Nice. The only downside is the price. $21.75 total for great burger, generous fry volume and a bottomless drink: is that a deal-breaker? I think you get what you pay for. My family' went and order they waited 1 hour for just frys and a burger.and the guy said to wait from what I saw

I ordered takeout from this five guys tonight and was greeted by a kind gentleman working the register. Back in the day, you used to tell the person at the register that you were picking up and they would ask your name and holler "so-n-so is in the house!" so I made eye contact with the guy and told him I was picking up. He asked my name and walked over to his coworkers to let them know that I was there. As I was walking toward the pick up area, a man intercepted me and said "let me guess, pick up?" I told him yes, and he responded "figures," which I thought was odd. Turns out he was a manager. He called over the man who had greeted me and began berating him about the process and how when I said I was there to pick up an order, he should have pointed me towards the pick up area and not taken my name or anything. He told the man that he was only qualified to run the register and wipe down tables. He went on and on and I felt awful as the man stood there and respectfully took the lashing that really should have been done in private. I can't imagine working for such a disrespectful and condescending jerk. Thank you to the man at the register for not herding me through like cattle and taking the time for a human interaction. I have been here many times in the past, with good service and pretty good food. Yesterday was a little different. The place wasn't very busy and an employee quickly came up after I entered and I placed my order. I could tell there were only two walk-in orders ahead of mine. I ordered a fountain drink but found the soda machines were a little lacking in selections. A bunch of selections seemed empty or just didn't work. I ended up with a drink I wasn't really interested in drinking. However, I had already paid so I opted to grab something. I ended up tossing most of it since it didn't taste right. As I waited a few people who had placed online orders came and left. Still, not very busy. When my order came up, it was at the same time as one of the previous orders. I made sure I got the right bag and left to go eat. I took a bite and quickly realized somethine was missing. I looked and found there was no lettuce or pickles on the burger, despite my having ordered them. There was the ketchup & mustard. At almost $10 for a burger, you would think the place could get the condiments correct. Given how the work stations are set up, hopefully, someone straightens out the mistake. Maybe it was because of a change of shift (some employees were leaving) or maybe there were newer employees. Regardless, I won't go back for a bit. I can go to a tavern/pub and sit and get a good burger for a few more dollars. Normally, I am pleased to eat here. This time, not so much. read more

This evening I went to Five Guys for dinner with my wife and two children. While getting ketchup for the table, the manager came over to me and declared in an angry tone: "You have to come with me and pay for the drinks on your table." I explained there was confusion about a bottle versus a cup and I had talked to another employee about it and they allowed me a cup instead. The manager snapped back at me "No. You have 3 glasses on your table and you only paid for one. I have the receipt to prove it." And proceeded to wave her receipt in my face, making sure all the other customers waiting for their food could see that I was a criminal stealing soda. I had to take her to my table and show her my copy of the receipt that did show I paid for 3 drinks. She glared at me and said "Fine" and stomped off. I was extremely insulted that this employee would come over in front of all the other customers waiting for their food and loudly and rudely accuse me of stealing 2 drink cups. After trying to calm down, I went back and asked to speak to the manager, not realizing at the time that the woman was the manager. I explained that I was extremely insulted to be treated like I was a criminal. Her only response was to say, "Well I talked to my employees and confirmed that you had not paid for them." So just left five guys. Didn't feel like five guys at all. Usually when you are walking through the door, there's the enthusiastic cashier, saying hello and there is a sense of camaraderie behind the glass with the employees. Not at all do you have people? Trisha, who waited on us was less than enthusiastic. She almost look like she was going to cry maybe she was having a bad day I don't know. But as we waited for our order to come up, we watched her clean off tables and oddly enough, she went around crumbs and left them on the table. We had a hard time, not giggling because we couldn't believe our eyes. I'm sure to the camera it look like she was doing her job. Taking an extremely long time cleaning around the table and not doing a damn thing because the thing was covered with crumbs. Oh well. the food wasn't quite like I remembered. The burgers had way too much condiment on them. You could barely taste the burger. And it made a huge mess. We love five guys but this crew really seem like it was lacking nobody talking to each other no camaraderie it just felt like everyone was pissed off too bad that's one of the things we love about it is it's upbeat field mostly we love it because the great burgers and fries not to mention the really great shakes. I ordered the large burger which is two pattys of 80/20% beef add bacon, extra tomato; extra lettuce mayo, pickles, and ketchup. Burger was executed in a timely manner and with all the described fixings in place. I also ordered the small fries which were crispy on outside hot and buttery delicious on inside. Fried in a clean fryer with 100% peanut oil. Well played I must say. Burger was hot and tasty and what a burger should be all about. Simple, yet delicious. I will gladly take Midwestern beef over Vermont farm-to-table Angus anyday. I truly believe the Vermont farm-to-table bandwagon does not always offer the best ingredients when it comes to a lot cuisine. 5 guys rock on!! read more

I asked twice to replace it. When she started to wrap sandwich I told her not to wrap it up with the burnt bacon. She then tossed the bun top 6 feet in the garbage and told me to step back. Got the sandwich it was ok but there service is horrible. I don't blame the girl I blame management that tolerates such behavior. And doesn't get their online ordering working. Five guys is a great option for those on a Keto or low carb diet. They will lettuce wrap your burger and have peanuts. This location had quick service but I prefer my cheese to be melted on my burger. They have the nice new soda machines. It was very clean. My partner and I love 5guys and make sure we stop whenever we are going to be near one sense we don't live near anything. Today we came to this location with our foster kids and order a grilled cheese for one because he is the PICKIEST eater I have ever seen. He loves cheesy bread from pizza places so I figured we would have him try a grilled cheese. He took one look at it and wouldn't touch the thing. One of the workers came by and overheard him and a friend complaining about the grilled cheese. Yes the place has been a madhouse since opening so that could explain some of the lower reviews, but I personally have had a couple really good lunches despite the craziness. I have been going to the other popular fry and burger place in Burlington for a couple decades and Five Guys blows it away. The fries are pretty similar and both very good, but Five Guys burgers are in a different league. The newest burger joint in town! Five Guys! So we wanted a good heavy dinner one night last week...And we remembered the week before this place had opened up! So off we went to Five Guys. So bring a new place you will first see its location. It's located right in the Gate Way shopping center. Not a bad location for sure! The inside had been redone inside. Pretty clean for a fast food joint. I wish it was in a closer location for Essex BUT I cant complain. Its not to bad of a hike for anyone. Its still pretty central in the Burlington area. The staff is also pretty friendly. Granted its still new. We had been greeted pretty quickly with a smile. Again being fast food I like seeing this. They didn't push us through quickly or even make use feel like they didn't want to help. They where clearly there to help us out with any questions that we had. Employees can make or break a place! This was not an issue here that night. (Granted its still new!) The price for the food was a little bit pricey. For 2 burgers, 2 drinks, and 1 large fry ran us around $26.00. So if you do go here be ready to pay more than BK or MCD! With that being said the portions are HUGE! The burgers we got each had 2 patties of meat. They also stack it high with any veggies and toppings that you would like. The fries are pretty good too! We got a HUGE large order of Cajun fries. They put a Cajun spice on the fries...and they are awesome! We couldn't finish the fries though. Next time we will have to order a small or a medium! Be warned the food comes in huge portions! It only took us about 10 minutes to get our food. They cook all of the food after you order. So this is great in timing. So as of right now I am a fan! It was a little pricey but the portions are good for the money you spent. So if you come here....Come hungry or pack it up and go home! Pretty strong 4/5! When I called 5 Guys directly and spoke to the manager we had a great conversation and he rectified the issues immediately. You had to fight with other customers for seats, the layout is terrible, it's expensive. $19 bucks for 2 burgers, 2 cokes & 1 sm fry in a greasy bag which I am glad they gave me because there was no place to sit down. Burger Nirvana has arrived, my friends! I've salivating ever since I heard Five Guys was going to be opening in South Burlington. They use fresh ground beef and offer a lot of great toppings for your burger. Think of it like a burger version of Subway. You order a burger and then choose between a variety of toppings for your burger. I choose a little bacon cheeseburger with ketchup, mustard, grilled onions, pickles and lettuce. It was phenomenal. Better than most sit-down restaurant burgers. I wish I had one right now... Anyhow, they have hot dogs, grilled cheese and- of course- fries. Their fries are fantastic. Traditional handcut and twice-fried (I find them to quite similar to the fries at Al's French Fries.) I'll accept no substitutions for a Five Guys burger in the local dining scene, now. I like to think of Five Guys as Al's French Fries done right (I mean, Al's fries are good, but the rest of their menu is pretty bland.) Loud. Loud music. Loud voices behind the counter. Very difficult to have a conversation. Expensive. Two hot dogs, two hamburgers, three fries, three drinks, more than $40...for LUNCH. The flavor is good, but not $40 good. And the loud music and difficult conversation setting makes it not a fun place to go for lunch. If you don't like hamburgers, hot dogs, and fries then this isn't the place for you. And if you dine here with young kids, or if you don't want your kids drinking fountain sodas, then the only option is water. They don't have milk or juice. read more

Not all Five Guys are alike. I've eaten at Five Guys all along the Eastern seabord and this one was hands down the noisiest one I've eaten at so far. Not a good place for taking someone you want to talk businesswith or whisper sweet nothings to. Food came out hot and reasonably quick. Good personal attention to special requests, like "pickles on the side" or "extra mayo, please" Bathroom was clean and orderly. Plenty of parking out front. It may seem a little high but the quality is so much better than the other chain burger joints that I will drive out of my way for Five Guys. This particular Five Guys is a little loud due to it being very small. There is limited seating inside and only two tables in front of the store. If you go during peak hours I recommend ordering online and avoiding the line. The staff has always been friendly and helpful never seeming put out by having to do their jobs. Yes the food is greasy. It's a burger joint! Fast food is greasy, get over it. And they do not serve juice (juice is soda without the carbonation) or milk. If that's what you want there is a Subway in the same complex. They serve free peanuts so if you're allergic you might want to stay away. read more
