I visit this area from time to time. They have a few decent restaurants to choose from but sometimes I'm just in the mood for a good sub. One thing I can say about this location is that the sandwiches are always good. However, that's where the good qualities stop for me. The customer service is terrible. I've been on three occasions recently, encountered different employees, and the service was bad each time. On my most recent visit, I waited several minutes to order or even be acknowledged. The person who took my order was at the counter the whole time having a conversation with someone else in the back while I waited. I placed my order and told him what toppings I wanted right away but I still had to reiterate a couple of times while my sandwich was being made. Someone else checked me out and forgot to give me part of my order. When I asked her for it, she had an attitude. Attentiveness and courtesy are the bare minimum traits when working with the public and the staff at this store lacks both qualities. Everything was good from a taste perspective. I ordered a roast beef sandwich with provolone and added turkey. It was really good.... It's what I had to take for and they delivered! From a staff perspective, this store can use a little work. I walked in with another customer and there was no one in the front for a good few minutes. I've stopped in here a few times for a quick sandwich. It's pretty much what you would hope for. The line might look long but they're quick to take your order and prepare your food. Every time I've visited, I've enjoyed my food and the staff is friendly. The prices are also reasonable since a meal at McDonalds or Wendy's would cost you about the same. I don't know if this is the owner of the store or what, but when you go to pay you must first answer the question on the screen if you would like to tip. Thats not the employees fault so I do always hit the tip button but come on....Why doesn't the store just pay the employees more. I'm seeing this often at coffee shops, fast dine spots and carry outs. It's just a turn off. These aren't the type of places that should ask for a tip. Pay the employees a fair salary even if that means the menu price is more. That takes the rating from a four to a three because a place set up like this automatically loses a star on my scale. The food is tasty but there is a lot of bread. It gets the job done but it's not overflowing with meat and toppings to earn an over the top rating. Second time grabbing sandwiches from this DC location and it was refreshing to see such friendly (yet masked) faces, welcoming me as I entered. Everyone in the store had a smile and yes, I could tell even while wearing masks! This was my second trip to Jersey Mike's and this location. It was better than my first time. The Rosemary bread was tastier than the white and a good pairing for the original Italian. Cutting the cold cuts fresh ensures moisture and freshness but seems to slow down the sandwich making process. Some of the staff are clearly more experienced than others. Despite a quick lesson (in front of me) in cutting and wrapping, the young man doing so didn't follow the instructions of his trainer. This caused a good chunk of my sandwiches contents to fall off of the bread. I had to ask twice before he reinserted he contents. Overall, the sandwich was fresh and moderately flavorful. My experience with the Jersey Mike's located at 2440 Market Street NE was below poor. When I arrived in the store, there two customers (not crowded). One of the customers was paying for her order. The other customer was seated and waiting for his order to be completed (two people were at the grill). I noticed there were six employees in the store working but it took 15 minutes for my order to be taken. When my order was finally taken, the young man acted as if he was doing me a favor when preparing my order. I ordered a regular turkey (#7) and a club (#8). As he was making my sandwich, I reminded him that I ordered a club that includes bacon. I was told that they did not have any more bacon. Why advertise a club sandwich that includes bacon when there is no bacon??? This has happened once before. I should have been told that the store was out of bacon before the sandwich was made and given the option to order something else. Don't advertise bacon if you don't have any. I understand that the staff at this location is young. But there seems to be a lack of training and customer service at this location. No one was friendly and they ALL seem to have an attitude. Everyone had the attitude of "it's not my turn to wait on customers". No one asked me had I been waited on. I was treated as if I was not there. I asked the young man who rang up my order for the manager and was told no manager was available. I asked for a card and was ignored. I will not be returning to this location, and I will use all social media that I'm on to relay the poor experience I received. I spent $23.31 at a fast-food restaurant for this subpar service. My ticket number is 01-001448-01-376001. This issue needs to be taken up with your corporate office. I will let everyone know within ear shout about the poor service at this Jersey Mike's. This place is awesome!! A couple of weeks ago, I was having trouble with my debit card which was unfortunate because I had already ordered my food. My cardholders informed me nothing was wrong with my card and to wait to use it for 30 min. After waiting around for 45 min with my friend and my grandmother, my card still didn't work which was a huge disaster! I really wanted my food!!! When I informed the staff of the misunderstanding, they let me keep my food. I almost cried. I had already been having a pretty bad day and that was a very sweet deed for them. The sandwiches are really good. However, I do not recommend ordering ahead online. It is faster to get in line and place your order when you get there than to order on line and pickup. There is no pickup windows so you have to wait to be acknowledged by the checkout person while she rings up all of the customers in line. I have been here before, not to this location though. The food is good but it isn't the reason that I gave a 5 star rating. I placed an online order yesterday but the bread that I wanted wasn't ready yet. So an employee at this location, Shawn, called me about it. I made another selection, no biggie. However, when I went to pick up my order, I had 2 subs in my bag. The reason being was that when the bread that I originally wanted was ready, they made a sandwich for that order AND the backup order. They didn't have to do that but they did, so I appreciate getting 2 subs for the price of 1. We as customers complain about vad customer service a lot, so I am taking the time to give a S/O to Shawn and the rest of the workers at this store for their GREAT customer service. Pretty much what you would expect from a Jersey Mikes, though the space is on the small side. This one benefits from having convenient parking (unlike Rhode Island Ave location). If you haven't had Jersey Mike's, its similar to Subway, but more of a focus on classic deli subs with cold cuts. Oh, and they are definitely better. The only thing lacking is great bread, which is very hard to get at a chain (try Taylor Gourmet for that). Also, the giant sub will feed 2-3 people! read more

I told the staff and Sean instantly apologized and placed my correct order and had it out in no time! I've also had the tuna sub which is TO DIE FOR. Way better than subway in my opinion.
