Surprisingly good fast food. The boneless wings are especially surprising. Sweet but not cloying. Small but that is okay. As good as a lot of Korean Fried Chicken wings. (Which also says something about our vast overestimation of Korean Fried Chicken wings.) Other Yelpers call the cheesesteak bland. The critique is fair, but it is still better than a lot of other cheesesteaks I have had. A key element is that their provolone seems to be particularly good. Provolone is a neglected part of what makes a cheesesteak work. I have no doubt they use a standard commercial provider - But it a standard commercial provider a lot of other people aren't using. Save your money and save your calories. Average customer service and horrible place to try to pick up (parking is not very good). Overall the food was not good, the cheesesteak was bland and the 'Louisiana' fries tasted like they were seasoned with sugar, not salt. I don't understand why they were sweet. I was traveling by train from New York and I has just arrived to Union Station, and I had not eaten a thing all day. Fast forward to 2pm and this was the first unique fast food place that I saw in the concourse, and it wasn't the typical fast food chain reataurant. In fact, I had never even heard of thia restaurant at all until today. There was a decent sized line to place orders, so I figured that they must be popular. I wasn't in the mood for a cheese steak, so I decided to go for a chicken type of sandwich. I ordered the Chicken California that had chicken breast, provolone cheese, and mayonnaise. It tastes pretty good, althou I remembered too late that I was not a huge fan of mayonnaise. I also got a medium sized fountain drink. Put in an online order at the Charleys in Laurel, MD (Baltimore Ave) not to be confused with Market Place, because this is directed solely at the Baltimore Ave store. Chicken Philly with jalapenos, easy, got back to work and had some turkey sandwich with bacon (I dont eat bacon). I called and complained, spoke with a Kimani, Kimori something like that, it was a guy. He stated that they would put my refund back on my card within the next 5 days. One month later and no refund. We were here recently for a layover on one of our choo-choo trips and the food is surprisingly not bad at all. Yes it's a chain with 17 locations in the D.C. metro area alone and I've got two I'm our area in Mobile and Pensacola. The creator Charley Shin started up his first place in 1986 after falling in love with his first cheesesteak in college at Ohio State, of all places. He started his first place ner OSU campus then started franchising his it in 1991 and today there's over 650 locations in 46 U.S. states and in 17 countries, impressive. This one is located in the Union Station Food Court in the Washington DC train station. We had lots of choices for food choices here but it's only a couple hours drive from Philly and we were hoping for the best. It's not unlike some the cheesesteak joints in Philly where you walk up, tell 'em what you want on it, pay and wait for your cheesesteak goodness to dig in to. There's about a half dozen veggies and a dozen condiments to choose from so it's pretty simple. They do a pretty decent French fry or you can go with chips. We both had cheesesteaks, of course, and were very happy with the results. Hot shaved steak, gooey cheese, fresh veggies and I'm a happy traveler. Don't get me wrong, these aren't the best cheesesteak sandwiches I've ever had, but they're pretty darn good. I mean they have 10 of their eateries in the Philadelphia metro area so they obviously hold up. this is my very first time having a horrible experienceat Charlies. the wings were huge and dry, only a drop of buffalo on them. the boy just threw my cheesesteak together, didn't even look appetizing. when I did try the food the wings were literal trash, overcooked and dry and oversized. the cheesesteak was flavorless, thrown together and the lettuce were turning brown. for $28 , the only thing that were decent were the fries and that's ridiculous. workers look as if they don't want to be there. they aren't putting any effort into preparing people's food. if I asked them if they would eat this I'm sure they'd say NO. unacceptable! Went Charley's at Hanes Mall in Winston-Salem, NC. Got two "large" combos. Mostly bread. They could have put the steak for both sandwiches in one piece of regular loaf bread and folded it. Less than a handful of fries. Cost $40. read more

Okay...this was the best beef cheesesteak I've had here. It had everything on it! Ordered online and delivered timely. Opened the package and viola! All I saw were vegetables! Looked to the other side and nothing but cheese and beef! Warmed it a bit and added hot sauce and ketchup to the fries. And the watermelon lemonade is delicious. Only drank half and going to chill the rest for later. I'm impressed by the sandwich...I saw a big pickle in the veggie mix too. Mayo dripping. Jalapeños falling out when I picked it up. I used to eat at the food court at Union Station before seeing movies (back when there was a movie theater there) so this brought back some memories. Overall, this was a decent sandwich. It was hot and made to order and the service was okay. Could have been quicker since I was the only customer at the time, but not too bad. Fries were not very good. Browsed through the food court while I wait for my train in Union Station and found this counter among all the other fast food joints. It was such a bargain! I ordered the Small Chicken Philly with Original Fries that despite the word small, makes a very filling meal and cost me only $6-ish (tax included) which is awesome! Plus you can customize what to put inside of your sandwich. I had everything except olives and green pepper. Plus I asked them to put my fries in the box and pour BBQ sauce on it, and the guy generously did. The fries were excellent! Crispy, warm, and they absorbed all the goodness of the BBQ sauce. No longer spending my money with this company. They do NOT honor the points after purchases. I usually eat from the store at DC Union station. They stopped allowing customers to upload receipts to confirm purchase for points and only allow points at the register when the scanner is working. The scanner rarely works and I've reached out to customer support for ways to get credit for my purchases in the absence of the scanners. I emailed support with photo copies of my receipts that amounts to over $40 from only 2 orders. I never received a reply and my points were never awarded. That's ok. I know there are spots that I could've eat easily but I was seriously in the mood to eat French Fries. Saw this place downstairs and had to get one for myself! I placed an order of a Large Jalapeno Cheese Steak with no lettuce, no tomatoes, only mayo and requested extra steak, and as i am allergic to bacon due to health and faith, i asked for no bacon. I tried calling the restaurant to fix the issue, but no one answered. Overall, very unhappy. Since i havent hurd from this location, i called DoorDash asking for the full refind but instead they offered $14 instead $20.21 that i spent to receive the order that endup in the trash. I went into the food court in Union Station during lunch hour last December 2nd (2016). The plan was to go to the Subway at the far end of said court for a sandwich, drink, Doritos, and maybe a chocolate chip cookie. But then I chanced upon Charley's Philly Steaks. WHAT A SURPRISE!!! I gave the overhead menu a look-see and thought: Why not? (Hasta la vista, Subway.) The gentleman who took my order for a cheesecake, fries, and regular sized Strawberry Lemonade that December day was very courteous. I didn't have to wait long. Maybe a little more than 5 minutes. I hurried back to the office across the street, where I ate my lunch. The steak sandwich hit the spot. DELICIOUS. The fries were average. Nothing exceptional, but not awful, either. I especially enjoyed the Strawberry Lemonade. Delightfully sweet. YUMMY!!! (I'm very partial to sweet drinks and that Strawberry Lemonade was perfect.)
