Avoid this place at all costs. Extremely RUDE staff especially the African American woman with blonde hair who was on her phone as we tried to order. Super expensive I do like this place but if there was another cheesesteak around, I would definitely probably go there. Tubby's is just as good. Got veggie, giant, with mushrooms added. The sandwich is average. It is a cold sub which which I should have ordered a hot sub since they are a grill place for sandwiches. Service was ok. It's Jersey Mikes. If you're looking for submarine style sandwiches and philly steaks, The food doesn't get any better than this. THIS location however always seems to have issues. The interior is extremely loud and echos making it difficult to relay orders. The menu is too big constantly causing backups in the line. Last but not least the location isn't easy to get to if you live on the opposite side of big beaver road. Overall it's amazing food, ok servers, and a poor location. 3 stars read more

I have a couple of Jersey Mike's near me but that being said, I will forever drive out of my way to patronize this particular store and I'll tell you why. Malcolm, hard at work, but not hard enough to keep from flashing his $100 smile, greeted me warmly when I walked in. He was in the middle of building sandwiches but was not too busy to ask me about my day. Actually, I was having a not so happy day, after having visited my brother who was recently hospitalized, but I didn't share that with him...instead, I smiled back and told him I was having a great day since walking into their store. In fact, I was on my way home, didn't feel like cooking that evening. I was thinking of my grandkids and Jersey Mike's popped into my head. They love Jersey Mike's and I heard on the radio that it was Jersey Mike's Day of Giving. So I headed over to the location that was on my way home. So glad I did. These folks were hard at work, welcomed me when I got there, thanked me for participating in Jersey Mike's Day of Giving, the day when 100% of all sales go to that amazing local charity founded by Detroit's own, Jay Towers, TV and radio personality. I was glad to be participating and so glad I stopped at this store. Erica took my order and also thanked me for participating. Then, Nick, who was holding down the fort from the back, peaked out and thanked me. I can't tell you what a lift these folks gave me that day and how thrilled they were to be participating in the Day of Giving. It made me feel great. The icing on the cake, when I got home was the fresh, delicious bowl! I was trying to lay off the carbs so I didn't have a sandwich that day. The bowls were generous, delicious and expertly made. Slow service and the food order is often made wrong. I have been here 7 times and Not giving it another chance.

My family needed a quick bite to eat before an appointment and popped into this Jersey Mike's for the first time. The customer service was awkwardly lacking. Nobody greeted us as we walked in. One employee was cleaning while another was socializing with them. I know they're probably forced to ask "Do you want it Mike's way?" but as someone who has never had their sandwiches, I didn't know what that meant. The employee asked if I wanted it on one sandwich, and when I said yes, the employee started making both that way, which is not what I wanted but it was fine. The employee preparing the cold sandwiches kept asking the employee who took the order (and was making the hot sandwich) questions, when they could have asked me. Again, awkward. Also, the employee began to ring us up with gloves on, realized they should take their gloves off for the transaction, but then put the gloves back on after touching the register. Yikes. We ate upstairs, which was a great utilization of the space. Kudos to them for that! Overall the sandwiches were good, I'd probably get them again but it's not something I'll be in search for. Staff needs to find the balance into recognizing some people may have never been there before, while still feeling casual / like home. read more

5.5 years later so it's time to update this review! My boyfriend and I went here Friday night before a movie. This is my favorite Jersey Mike's location - it has two floors, although for some reason the upstairs was cordoned off on Friday. We were joking how Subway is far more inferior to Jersey Mike's, and a JM employee actually hooked us up with some BOGO coupons, which was super nice of her. I always get #13, The Italian, Mike's Way, minus lettuce and add pickles. I'm actually not a big fan of cold subs in general but this sandwich is always delicious, and on Friday night it tasted even more delicious than usual for some reason. My parents like to get the hot cheesesteak subs, and one friend of mine always gets the Reuben, which she enjoys. If you sign up for their email club, they are always sending me deals. On Friday night I had a coupon for a meal deal for $15.99, which included two bags of chips, two sodas, and two subs. Considering their subs are usually about $8 each, that was a great deal. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! Every time I visit, the service is consistently excellent, and a big part of that is thanks to Nick and Malcolm. They always provide amazing customer service--kind, patient, and attentive to every detail of my order, no matter how "extra" i know it is. I say that not because they make me feel that way but because I know it is, lol, and they do it with a smile. What really stands out is how they handle food preparation with urgency, ensuring everything comes out fresh and timely, but never in a way that makes you feel rushed. Unlike other places that just push customers in and out, they go above and beyond to make conversation and create a welcoming experience. Ordering gift cards online....DON'T DO IT! This is the second year in a row, I ordered the gift card online. Both times I did not receive it through my email. Sent email to Jersey Mike's...days later they sent me an email back saying I had to call gift card department. Called gift card department and they were like a robot. Didn't listen to me about what solved it last year, asked me information I already told them and after half hour of trying to resend it, texting to me ... they finally sent email to their technical department. Called 2 days later after not hearing from them, again, asked for a Manager. Was told they couldn't get a manager. Was told they couldn't have someone call me. All they could do is create another ticket. I ordered the gift card on Dec. 2nd. They charged my credit card on Dec. 3rd. Today, is December 15th and I still have no gift cards and dealing with a awful customer service department (1 email and 2 phone calls later). The technical department reassured me, last year, they fixed the problem that caused this but I see they didn't!! I have never heard of a customer service that you couldn't escalate to a manager or receive a call back. I will never order again from Jersey Mike's gift cards. I placed a delivery order through GrubHub at 10:50 am and it set for delivery by 11:30. I didn't receive my regular size turkey and provolone sub until 12:30 and by then I was hungry, like Snickers commercial hangry. Hence why I placed my lunch order so early. The sub was made correctly and they threw in a bag of potato chips (probably bc the delivery was an hour later than quoted time). The staff that works at the Troy location is awesome! Super friendly and helpful. It never takes too long for my made to order subs. The Philly steak and cheese is a must and my fiancé is so addicted to it. I always end up eating some of his because I always have to be different and get an Italian or the chicken Caesar wrap. Yum! Arrived 10 min past promised pickup time but they still hadn't started my order. 10 minutes later I asked for an update after seeing 6 walkins order, pay, and leave with their food. Was told to be patient (rudely). I pointed out they were moving new orders ahead of online orders (there were 4 sandwiches waiting completion the whole time I was there but new orders continued to leapfrog those). Turns out my meal was one of those and I finally was given my meal 10 minutes later. 45 minutes past the time I placed the order, 20 minutes after I came in for the pickup. I grew up in New Jersey. And we had lots of sub shops. At the time, these were not chains, but rather local places that focused on selling sub sandwiches in the New Jersey style. I did a Google search and I saw that the places we frequented back in the '60s are all gone now. They have been replaced by places like Subway and other chains that specialize in subs, that in my opinion serve stamped out sub-par junk. None the less we decided to give Jersey Mike's a try. To my surprise, the subs were definitely reminiscent of the subs I remember growing up in New Jersey. I tried the Italian sub, which is what I usually ordered back in the day, and it was really not bad at all. The salad dressing on the sub was just like I remember as it was used back in New Jersey. Stopped by to pick up a sub not knowing what to expect. The staff was wonderful and explained their concept, background and history to me. I then ordered one of their more popular subs, the #13. Yes, freshly sliced in front of you and breads freshly baked as well. I also got the it "Mikes Way", minus the tomato's and wow, you can tell the difference! I don't normally go for cold subs, however this just may change my mind. Also I have tried their Philly Cheese sub and WOW, it was delish! I prefer the Troy store, although I do go to others. My grandparents broke down in parking lot of jersey mikes, a wonderful employee named nick came and helped push there car back into a parking spot as they are elderly and couldn't do so themselves. They stayed and grabbed a sub while they waited for me to show up and call a tow truck. First time I've ever eaten here and I can say I was impressed by the customer service and how he went out of his way to help them. Above and beyond service. The food was good as well.
