Before I start let me start by saying that I love Jersey Mike's. It has quickly become one of my go-to sandwich shops. However, this one does not live up to the Jersey Mike's standards. If I could have given it a half star or less I would have. My son and I went here a few weeks ago and I was thoroughly disappointed. I always order the #14 Veggie only sandwich (Mike's way) and all of the other Jersey Mike's that I have been to have a separate slicer just for the cheese, but this one store in Santee does not. When the rude worker behind the counter took my order he reached in and grabbed the cheese and started slicing it. After the first slice I asked him if he had a separate slicer. He looked at me dumbfound and told me no (strike 1), so I told him that I did not want the sandwich any more. He then looked at his co-worker made a few snide comments, put the sliced piece of cheese back with the rest of the cheese and then took my son's order. My son ordered one of the hot sandwiches on white bread, but it came to him on wheat (Strike 2). I asked him if he wanted me to take it back and he said no. Strike 3 - While my son was finishing his sandwich a security guard from this particular strip mall came walking in and all 3 of the employees greeted him with high fives and laughter as he walked right behind the service counter. All four of the guys were laughing and having a grand time as the security guard picked up some pickles and bell peppers from the service line with his fingers that he DID NOT wash and ate them. Did I mention that my son had diarrhea less than an hour after eating here. He did. I will NEVER go back to this Jersey Mike's again. This stinks because it is fairly close to my house. But I am willing to drive an extra 10 - 15 minutes to know that I am going to be served with respect. AVOID this store - 9331 Mission Gorge Road, Santee, CA 92071! read more

both times we have come to this location, the service has been really disappointing.. the first time we came it was because my husband and i both wanted cheesesteaks; it was about an hour before they closed and my husband ordered the sandwiches only to be told that the grills had been turned off and they would only make a cold sandwich, so we left empty handed. it seemed that everyone working there was young and more interested in closing up and getting out of there then doing their job!! the second time to this location, we went around 530pm, again we ordered hot sandwiches and the person taking our order turned to his coworker and said "sorry dude, you have to cook"... i don't know what's up, but it just seems like they have a real problem making hot sandwiches!!!!! read more

Go to a different Jersey Mike's! They're always unclean in the working area and food and other various items thrown around. It take forever for one of the employees to notice you, because they're always talking to each other not paying attention. They have also managed to criss-cross orders! read more

Stopped in last night for dinner to go. The four employees working gave me their undivided attention. We all had a great conversation about cell phones while they made my sandwich. They were a fun and professional group of employees! It was such a pleasant experience! read more

I was here recently using my free birthday coupon. I have reviewed another Jersey Mike's in the past. I still felt the need to come here and say again what great customer service they had. They are friendly, smiling, and patient. The sandwich was yummy! And a good deal since it was free but would be worth paying for next time I am there. read more

The service there is a bit doucey. Tattoos everywhere and they act like they are so cool. 9 times out of 10 they screw up the order. The order counter just doesn't work and it seem demeaning to have to look up to them. The menu is confusing. When I ordered my sub the guy said it was a pain in the ass to make. My adult daughter and I met there for lunch 1/23. at about 12:30 Ordered 2 sandwiches a CA SUB and a Pastrami. I specifically asked to have the bread toasted or grilled BEFORE making the sandwiches, he cuts the bread for the CA sub and adds the meat, I again state I want the bread toasted before it is made, but they proceed with adding the meat and cheese, this time my daughter asks even louder to have the BREAD TOASTED they pick up both halves with meat and cheese and stick it on the grill, barely warming it. YUCK such a simple request, instead I get a warmed sandwich not a toasted bread, with cold stuffing sandwich as I wanted, Totally flavorless, I could build a MUCH tastier sub at home. they skimped on the meat, cheese, tomato and avocado and stuffed it full of lettuce. I write this with discomfort as I genuinely enjoy Jersey Mike's Subs. The first location I tried was in poway and they gave me excellent service from helping me figure out what kind of sandwich I want to giving me a welcoming feeling. However, I live in Santee so the nearest location is this location on Mission Gorge. I am 100% dissatisfied with this location. The first time I ordered they made my sandwich wrong and I didn't realize until I got home which made my meal highly unpleasurable as I was very excited for my sandwich. However, I decided to overlook the mistake as mistakes happen. The second time, customer service was horrible, I was waiting around and no one greeted me or offered help. Again I overlooked it and just ordered my food. I specifically customized my sandwich and AGAIN they did not make it right. The third time I went I ordered over the phone. The girl who answered was rude and I had to keep repeating myself to make sure my order was going in correctly as I didn't not want another mistake. I work in customer service so I understand that taking the extra second to repeat a customer to reassure we are listening goes a long way. Then when I got there to pick up my sandwich a MAN HOLDING A TRASH BAG HANDED ME MY SANDWICH. He did not wash his hands prior to giving me my food and he didn't even acknowledge me I let him know I was here for a pick up and he just handed me a sandwich bag. I will NEVER BE GOING TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN. Ps if I get sick from eating this sandwich you better believe I will be contacting the health department and I will be speaking to my attorney as that's highly unsanitary. read more

Ok... I was recommended by a friend the Jersey Mikes in Santee on mission gorge, was the best sandwich shop around and that I wouldn't return to subway....NOT!! My family and I went to Mikes Sunday May 17th. First thing... Customer service was lousy! Employees should at least ask if you've been there or not and when asked a question about the product you could at the least look up and answer, don't act bothered that a paying customer just inconvenienced your busy day! Aside from poor service the sandwich is way over priced,....then again how can you compete with a Subway club for 6 bucks? That's the only way...over price your own sandwich, basic sandwich which was slightly over 5 inches was 8.79 with the only extra cost was avocado. For the 3 of us, 3 sandwiches one bag of chips grand total 27.00!! Sorry Mike, you may have them convinced in Jersey but sure the heck not in Santee. For what it's worth the taste was good. I am greatly upset about today's visit to Jersey Mikes and will not be returning. I came in to get a sub for my pregnant wife. I had a great greeting from the person who sliced the sandwich, then I noticed the "pink/red haired girl", who Erin mentioned in her review. She came out from the back of the store, then wiped the side of her nose with her finger tips while she had her gloves on and then proceeded to wrap a customers sandwich. Only god knows what she was doing with those gloves on in the back of the store. Sick to my stomach I just simply walk out the store. i went in yesterday for the first time my friends recommended it so i decided to give it a try. the kid who served me was very polite and patient(i didn't catch his name but he had dirty blonde hair and a tattoo on his left arm) i tried the club supreme per his suggestion.it was amazing, the portions were great and everything was fresh.I also got a free cookie when i mentioned it was my first time. over all i enjoyed everything and will definitely be returning. read more

Last night my husband & I stopped in and ordered two sandwiches; we told cashier we also wanted to place catering order for holiday party this Sat. She told manager who pointed to the catering rack brochures; I told her I knew what we wanted; she told him and he told her to take order; she said she'd never done catering order & couldn't answer my basic questions (such as how many sandwiches are in the large box). She was going to write the order on a normal order pad - not a catering form - I could see this being lost somewhere and didn't feel confident my sandwiches would be ready for party on Sat. so I told her to forget it; we'd order elsewhere. The sandwich I ordered was ready, but they forgot to make my husband's so we had to wait. After eating our sandwiches, which were just ok, we went to Subway - they were happy to take our catering order for 25 people - $132.00 worth or sandwiches. This location is new and perhaps needs more customer service training. If the manager had said he was busy and would we mind waiting for a few minutes we would have been happy to do so since we were planning to eat the sandwiches we ordered. Or, perhaps they could cross-train someone to take catering orders. In addition to the shift manager and cashier there were four other people making sandwiches. ! read more

I've worked on the construction of several Jersey Mike's in the county, and have tried some of their food in the past. When one opened in my home town, I was excited to have my wife try them out. I ordered 4 subs over the phone, nothing difficult, 3 the same, and one different for my wife. When I got home from picking up the food, I discovered that the sub for my wife was not in the bag. We split up portions of our other sandwiches so she could have something to eat. I called the restaurant to complain that I had paid for but not received the sandwich. The girl told me I could come get it, but I explained that I was 20 minutes away and didn't really want to drive that far, again. I asked for a manager, who couldn't come to the phone, so she took my cell number and told me the manager would call me to rectify the situation. It is a few weeks later, and I'm still waiting for that call. Big disappointment after the big buildup I gave them. One and done for this place. read more
