Now that I've eaten here twice I can weigh in some insights and a suggestion or two…read more My first visit was dining-in, and I ordered the excellent, hand-dipped chicken fingers with fries. The chicken is as good as it gets, perfect batter and execution. The fries, however, were the polar opposite. Undercooked, limp, hard to believe the contrast between the chicken and this mess that I couldn't eat after the first few bites. This is the suggestion part: Be sure the cooks know how to shake the basket and recognize when the regular fries are properly cooked and crisp. I read a lot of other reviews saying they had issues with the fries also. My second trip was via drive-thru and I ordered the amazing pastrami burger. Just incredible, really. I get why they're popular. Based on the first time I decided to try the curly fries to see if it would be a better outcome. It was, fortunately, and I think this is what I'll get henceforth, or onion rings, which are still untried. Anyhow, the girl at the window forgot to give me the drink and I'm still wondering how my bill reached $22, but I'll ask specifically next for the receipt and breakdown. Four stars for now with reservations.

I love a good pastrami sandwich that is generously filled with meat, so I was looking forward to trying it. Unfortunately, what arrived at the table was extremely disappointing. The sandwich was so thin that it looked more like something you would pick up from a gas station than what you would expect from a restaurant. For the price and the way it was presented on the menu, I expected a much fuller and more satisfying sandwich. The flavor may have been fine, but the portion did not come close to meeting expectations. I hope management takes a look at the portion size because customers ordering a pastrami sandwich should feel like they are getting what they paid for.

I'm pretty sure I've had just about everything on their menu from the hot dogs to the burgers to their sandwiches and salads. I have to say they're chili cheese. Fries are probably my favorite from any restaurant. I think it's something about the nacho cheese that they use, which doesn't say much, but they are incredible. The service is always pretty quick here, even when I ask for my dogs to be well done. I love the decor inside of this place, because it's a throwback to an old time. Chicago era. The only thing I wish they do is get rid of their kiosks to order because I don't like when businesses replace employees with computers. That's my only gripe. So, stop in and enjoy a dog but make sure a person takes your order, not the funky kiosk.

I ordered the chili dog with onions and got a side of nacho type cheese to dip it in and for the Fries...... Not bad overall, but the chili had BEANS in it and was too watery. It needs to be THICK like at Tommy's and Cupid's. The fries were no big deal. Speedy service, as the inside was just about empty on Thursday around 3 p.m. How about selling just the raw dogs so we can take them home and make our own? These were not anywhere near as good as Cupid's in the San Fernando Valley on Winnetka.....which has been the gold standard for decades!!

I usually order on the app, but sometimes there's no line so get to order in person at the drive thru. There was one time the drive thru was so backed up, I ordered via the app and went inside to pick it up. When I do that, I always pick out the last car to track and usually, I have my food before that car is done. The people working here are very nice and good at what they do. They have a unique setup with a person dedicated to nothing but sauces which has got to relieve the kitchen and drive-thru attendant of one less thing to worry about.

Unfortunately, recently it seems like the owners or whoever makes these decisions have decided to cut back on the protein portion sizes. Before, the scoops were a good size. Now the scoop itself is noticeably smaller, and sometimes you'll get one scoop plus only another cube or two of fish. The prices haven't gone down, though, so you're essentially paying the same amount for less food. I've also noticed the employees are being required to track the portions on a notepad. Personally, I'd rather you charge me a little more than quietly give me less fish for the same price I was originally paying. The quality is still great, but reducing portions like this definitely makes the value feel worse. On a positive note, I absolutely love the little lady with the glasses.
