Jersey Mike's Subs is located off Debbie and the corner of Matlock serving up delicious cold and hot sandwiches that would put a smile on your face every time you take a bite out of one! I placed an online order to be picked up for a stickball sub which consist of provolone, ham, and salami on parmesan white bread. The toppings I chose were the standard lettuce, tomatoes, onions, banana peppers, and pickles. As for the condiments I went messy with mayonnaise, spicy brown mustard and of course I had to get it Mikes way which is an olive oil blend and red wine vinegar. As I walked through the doors during lunch hours on a weekday day the place was quite busy, but the line was moving steady and fast. There were many tables to sit at with also a sitting bar to enjoy your sub while looking out the clean glass windows and admiring the finer things in life. They have a pickup station where all online orders will be waiting for you as soon as the item is ready. As I walk up to the station, I notice a brown Jersey Mikes bag with a receipt of my order and my name written on it. I went ahead and picked it up and proceeded to find a seat to unwind and fill up my tummy. The sub was wrapped in paper that was perfectly packaged while the bag was sealed with a taper. The sub was looking stunning and fresh as to where I couldn't resist any longer and I knew I just had to dig in. The bread was airy and soft with a nice snap back but yet very pillowy. The first thing I noticed was the splash of red wine vinegar and olive oil that coated the sub very well. The finely shredded crisp bright green lettuce and the taste of sweet vine ripe tomatoes made a huge impact on the meal. The pungent red onions and sour dill pickles mingled in the rest of the flavors while the condiments of mayonnaise and mustard added a creamy smooth finish to this masterpiece. Everything tasted great and the quality of the food was suburb and outstanding. I'm looking forward to coming back again soon to maybe try out a hot sub next time since every time I come here, I always choose a cold one. The manager Courtnie is horrible. She has a terrible attitude. She became upset bc I didn't want onions on my chicken wrap. I love that I can get mine in a tub and leave the bread behind for the next customer. The employees are always friendly and smiling. This is my favorite go-to place for sandwiches. It's hard to list a favorite item, I have so many. Either of the clubs, the Cancro special, the chipotle cheesesteak, the Italian, the turkey and provolone, even the tuna...are all so fantastic. Can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches here...there's something for everyone. Order "Mike's Way" on your sandwich for the perfect east coast subs experience. The oil / vinegar mixture with the spices take these sandwiches from yummy to a whole other level. For breads, the standard white or wheat roll (love the light fresh texture of the white) but a nice touch is the rosemary bread too. Delish with the tuna especially, IMO. The staff is awesome at this location too. Some have been here for years (at least it seems like it) because they recognize you, chat with you and in some cases know your order and how you like it. Important small town friendly feel. It's not the cheapest sandwich in the world, but believe you me, you get what you pay for. Being from the mid-Atlantic region, I take my subs very seriously. The hoagie-arena up there is much like BBQ is down here. Discussions and debates over who's better can often wind up in bloodshed, broken families and divorce-rates shooting sky high! One thing that separates each sub joint is definitely the bread (roll). It should be soft with a slightly chewy pull when taking a bite and you should never feel like you've just bitten off more bread than meat. A proper sub should have enough provolone (there is no other cheese for subs) on it to say "heeeyyy" to your tastebuds while the tang of red-wine vinegar creeps in to slap your tongue. The meats should act as the Savory of the experience, lending enough salt and sweetness to compliment everything else. Try describing the "sandwich" (I can't call it a sub) from that other chain that you find in every strip-mall/corner around the 'plex like that. You can't. JM's offers 3 sizes, big, bigger and Friday Night (friggin huge). Other nor'easters will know what I'm talkin about. Friday nights was Subs for Dinner night. I haven't had a sub from the original JM's back in Jersey but from reading about the natives experience, these are pretty damned close and that's good enough for me. Check em out if you haven't. Recently I have been seeing friends frequent Jersey Mike's, so I figured it must be pretty good. On my way home through Mansfield, I decided to see what all the hype is about. I walked in, was promptly greeted and the employee walked me through the menu and gave me a bit of history about Jersey Mike's. I decided on the #13 (Italian) sandwich, which was pretty good. To my dismay, the sandwiches are served cold. No biggie, I just went home and heated the sandwich up. Then, as I was checking out, I swiped my debit card and there was an option for a tip with recommended amounts. Seriously? A tip for someone making my sandwich? No to go on a rant here, but I think places are getting out of hand with tip solicitations. Just my two cents. Not that I live in Mansfield but I probably won't come back to Jersey Mike's. My fiancée is from Philly and has been searching for a cheesesteak that compares to home. This is the closest he's gotten! We both really love them from here, the bread is perfect when it's for a hot sub. Our kids don't much care for the cold sandwiches because the bread is a bit hard and crusty on the outside, but I kind of like that. I love the oil and vinegar and seasonings they use on the cold sandwiches, but the main reason we come is for the cheesesteak. So this sub place is the best! I'm the Halloween guy and the employees know that about me. Why? Cause they ask and they are friendly. They make delicious subs and they make great conversation while making their magical creations. But I enjoy the subs and I enjoy the employees who work in the Mansfield Texas store. But, let's get back to the subs, I would never again touch a sandwich from another place. If you haven't tried their subs, your missing out on the most flavorful subs. That other place that says "Eat Fresh" could sell those foot longs for a $1.00 and it's still not worth it. I would eat Jersey Mikes at least 4-5 times a week if my wife allowed me to. I will say that I do not stray to far from the number 7 or 9 (I know how boring) I'm afraid I won't like what I order and lose a little faith in this place. It is around 10 minutes from my house but located near our grocery store which gives a great excuse to eat here. I will say for the most part the staff is great! Awful experience. Ordered online. Ordered a chicken bacon ranch sub in a tub hold the tomato. It forced me to choose a bread type so I did but explicitly wrote in the comments to have NO bread. They obviously read it because there was no tomato. Instead, they crumbled up a tortilla and it was mixed all throughout my lettuce. Even worse, there was no chicken and no bacon!!!! Just the lettuce, ranch, and the crumbled tortilla. As I do not eat wheat, I couldn't eat my meal at all and ended up throwing it away. Even paid for extra bacon and their was NONE. I have to say he would be the reason I'd drive out of my way to visit this location again. Great kid his parents definitely did a good job raising him! Was really helpful when ordering since it was my first time in. Loved the food and more importantly loved the great customer service. Wonderful subs and friendly service! I've never had a less than stellar experience. I stopped by the store today looking less than presentable. I just left the pool with my kids and probably looked sunburned. I purchased 1 sub to go. Before I left, the owner offered me a complimentary drink; he was concerned about hydration on this I might be a little dehydrated! I feel for you and admit yours was a terrible experience; but I'm sure it was very isolated. Keep in mind your experience occurred in the wake of a very public trial with an unpopular verdict which caused some racial tension. Everyone reacts differently, and today's youth tends to react inappropriately. There were only 12 people who heard all the details, but everyone has an opinion. The food there is always great, and normally so is the service. Last night me and my fiancé went to get a philly. Two of the employees refused to serve us because we are "crackers". The owner assures us this is not acceptable behavior in his establishment, and he will review all surveillance tapes as well as interview all employees present that night. Today was the first time eating here and it will be my last. My fiancé and I both ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwiches that come with applewood smoked bacon. We ordered, payed and then waited for the sandwiches. The girl that brought them said nothing other than,"we are out of bacon so there is none on the sandwiches." And then just walked off before we could say anything. It's common sense that once someone noticed that one of the main ingredients were not available they could have just told us so we could have reordered.
