Can you ever go wrong with In-N-Out? After an extremely long day at work, I was debating on what to order and I just decided to stop at this In-N-Out. The nice thing about In-N-Out is that they close at 1AM so even after a really long day, they're open to order. As I've moved back to ATL, I am realizing day by day how big of a blessing it is to have In-N-Out in the DFW area; it's truly in my opinion -- the best fast food in the US. I came around 12:30AM on a weekday evening and the place was pretty empty. The drive-thru seemed pretty busy though. I ordered my usual double-double animal style with chopped pickled and animal-style fries well done. In-N-Out will not have your order out ultra-fast; they make everything fresh to order, so please be patient! I waited around 10 minutes to get my order and I took it home and gobbled it down. Must I say anything about the taste? In-N-Out 99% of the time always slaps and you will never be disappointed. Incredibly slow. I saw a long line at the drive thru, so I ran in for a single burger. Took over 15 minutes to finally get it. It was painfully obvious they gave priority to the drive thru and almost couldn't be bothered with you or your order if you came in to the building. Probably one of the best in n outs I've been to! I've been all over California and Texas to try all the in and outs and I'm always disappointed. Until I came here! This was my first visit to an In-N-Out Burger. I happen to be traveling and my travels took me next door to Discount Tire so this was as good a time an any to visit them. They have been hyped up and I wanted to see what all the hype was all about. I was greeted cheerfully by the person at the counter and he took my order and gave me a receipt and I was told that I would be called when my order was ready. After a short wait I picked up my order at the counter and proceeded to the condiment station for some ketchup. I ordered a Double-Double combo with cheese and fries and I got a strawberry shake. Their burgers are not as big in size as Five Guys but it was delicious. It was cooked to my satisfaction and the cheese was melted and the bread was extremely soft. The fries were also cooked to my liking, a mixture of not too hard or too soft. My shake was thick enough that I had to wait a few minutes to be able to suck it up my straw. And to top it off my counter person came around to ask me if everything was fine and did I need anything! Now that's what I call service. It was one of the cleanest fast food restaurants that I have ever seen., I will definitely return to try other menu items when I return to this area in the future. read more

While this particular location slightly redeemed In-N-Out from the location I ate at in California, it still doesn't hold a candle to Whataburger. The burgers are ok at best. The fries....well, if you go pretty much anywhere else you will get better french fries. I also still don't understand a burger joint that doesn't offer mayonnaise as a condiment. I love stopping at this location on the way from Houston to Lubbock TX, in both directions! Customer service here is out of this world, exceptional, every visit. They even prepared my burger by packaging the ingredients separely so my mother could put it together when I got to her house so she could try it for the first time. It's no Whataburger, but it's better than McD's and most other fast-food burgers. They have an old-school burger shack style of making things which is fine. Ingredients seem better than a lot of other places. I think a lot of the popularity is based on the nostalgia of their original location.
