Jersey Mike's has grown from its humble beginnings into a national chain. Jersey Mike's began back in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. In 1975, seventeen-year-old high school senior Peter Cancro bought the sub shop with his mother's encouragement. Sure, there might be a bump here and there, but for the most part, I have had positive experiences at Jersey Mike's. On my visit to this particular Jacksonville, Florida location, I went with the roast beef and cheese. Usually my go-to is either the Italian or a cheesesteak, but this time I mixed it up a little. Hey, what's life without whimsy? Whatever you order from Jersey Mike's, you really can't go wrong. Not only does Jersey Mike's have a solid menu, but I guess they do quite a lot of training with their franchisees to ensure that each location is going to be consistently good. The staff here were friendly, professional and got my order to me in a timely manner. Again, I would likely attribute this New Jersey Mike's properly training their franchisees. Saw a sandwich on Instagram ( that was created by a manager of a jersey mikes) I wanted to recreate and she was in no way shape or form interested in doing it. Have to say, extremely disappointed in the customer service received at this location. It's not the first time but it will be the last. In the past, after we arrive to pickup an order you are told we are out of that bread , it happens. Today 10.12.21, was a different story. When I called to place an order the phone rang no less than 10 times and when it was answered I was put on hold. No problem, when she answered and asked what I wanted to order as soon as I started ordering, I was told to "hold on", then I did say how long do I have told hold to which she replied " I didn't put you on hold". Ok I said, then the phone went dead, she hung up. When I tried to call back no answer. Well sadly we will not be going back to this location. Love Jersey Mikes but will not tolerate disrespect. I am a frequent patron at this particular location. I always order the regular size Chicken Philly on wheat. The staff is always friendly, and my sandwich is always made exactly as I like it. The staff has always been really good about remembering me and what I like, even before I started coming in alot. I was very impressed after my 2nd or 3rd time visiting that they remembered me by name and what I typically order. It's a big reason why I started going more! In my opinion, Jersey Mike's has the best tasting subs of any of the major sub-shops out there. Only one particular visit did they get my order wrong, but I brushed it off as just being one of those days. The store is always clean, and food is always fresh and delicious. One little detail I like, which I've never seen anywhere else, is when you go in to eat with someone, they give you two different color cups... One blue, and one red. So after coming to this location a couple times. I can definitely say I am a fan. After trying different sandwiches, different ways. They consistency put out a good product. I even like that in certain magazines they have a But One, Get One coupon. So that is definitely a plus. Other than what I noted in my earlier review, I have no problems. We have been coming to this location for awhile now and generally are pleased with the service. However we were in here last night (11/22/22) and as the associate was wrapping our first sub, there was snot that visibly dropped from her face onto the wrapper that the sub was in. She proceeded to turn around, wipe her nose with a paper towel and then turned back around and went right into making the second sub. No changing gloves, no washing hands, nothing. We paid for the subs because we didn't want to embarrass anyone or cause a scene, but we have been trying to call the store since last night to speak with a manager and ask for a refund, but the phone just keeps ringing. I grew up on Jersey Mike's and have always loved the #13 Mike's Way (with extra mayo) so when I found out I couldn't have gluten, I was mostly sad about not having Jersey Mike's. Fortunately they've adapted! I went in today to get meals for my family and ordered mine on the gluten free bread. I was incredibly pleased to find that not only did they do glove changes but the bread was kept in a plastic wrap until used, the sandwich was made on a clean tray, a separate knife is used, and they even use a separate bottle of mayonnaise! Atmosphere: Your average sub shop with 4 top and 2 top tables for dining. Child booster seats are available making the place family friendly. Everything was clean and wiped down when we walked in. Service: Superb. The best I've ever received at a fast food chain sub shop. Fast, friendly and accommodating. The employees knew several of the customers personally and talked to them about their day and acted as if they were long lost friends. Southern hospitality at its finest. Food: I now officially hate Subway and Cousins subs. This place has got it going on. They have this cherry relish pepper sauce that just makes the sammich. I ask for it on the side so I can slather as much on as I like. The bread is fresh and they shave the meat fresh to your order. I really wish they would branch out to the Midwest. Turns out the were on food network some time ago. Whenever I try a new sandwich shop, I always judge them based on their Italian sub. I have to say, they have a killer Italian. I ordered the "Giant" size, which the clerk emphatically called "Lil sister size". Again, this was my first time here, so I didn't realize the monstrosity that I had ordered! It was so larger that they cut it into fourths! I got the sub "Mike's way," which is lettuce, tomato, peppers, and a generous sprinkling of oil and vinegar. In retrospect I should of skipped the O & V because it made the rest of the sandwich that I didn't finish soggy. But none the less, it was delicious. More impressive, the total cost was $9.99 for essentially two meals. You can't beat it. My only qualm was that the table I ate on was too small for my sandwich. Rough life, I know. First time and I'm already a fan. They have a meat slicer so they slice all their meats to order. The sub roll is nice and crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, and you can choose either white or wheat. The sizes are mini, regular (7.5") or giant (15"). You can choose your condiments, but try having your sub prepped "Mike's Way", which is onions, lettuce, tomatoes, spices, oil and vinegar. I got The Original Italian, which has provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. My bf got the Jersey Shore's Favorite, which has provolone, ham and cappacuolo. We had both prepped "Mike's Way". The slices of ham were thin, but you got a good portion of 'em. They were also generous with the toppings and condiments. We got the regular size (7.5") sub, which was only $6.95. (We had a flyer with a coupon for a BOGO free regular sub -- SCORE!!!) They also have a rewards club, which you don't have to register online -- your card will be automatically registered when you receive it (which I like since some places make you register online before you can receive points). You get 2 types of reward cards shapes -- regular card and surfboard keychain. Cute! LOL This place was packed, which is a good sign for a business that recently opened. This used to be my favorite location/ sub place. My visit today changed that. This location Interior looks better, but the quality of the food and service declined. The bread is so hard that it's is crumbling when I take a bite..They cut back on the amount of meat on the sub. The staff was not friendly and acted as if they did not want to be there. I currently have over 6,000 points, So, I'm not new to how these subs are supposed to be made. I suggest management send these 2 young lady's back to training before they lose anymore customers. It is always busy when I come here, perhaps because of my lunch hour. No worries there, the line tends to move pretty quickly. Oddly enough, all the people there are friendly, but the manager is something to behold. She will greet you and ask for your order, but if there are men in line, she will pretty much ignore you the rest of the time, while she asks them about their plans, or their fantasy football teams, or whatever strikes her fancy at the moment. She has done this to me on three different occasions, so I know it wasn't just an off day for her. I was squeezed in the middle of two groups of guys, and she took my order and immediately asked them questions, while ignoring me. Quite rude. I asked the cashier to speak to the manager, but when I saw it was her, I told him to forget it. She probably wouldn't change her behavior to make all customer feel welcome, so why even bother? I will note that when I got back to the office and asked around, other said they too noticed that she doesn't speak to female customers. See a trend here? read more

I'm going to make this one short because you know what you are in for when you go to a sub place. Jersey mikes near Tinseltown was very clean and the staff were kind and patience with me even though I took my time to order. After reading each cold sub they all started to sound the same so I just got the sub with almost all the meats and figured I can't mess this up if I am not forgetting any ingredients. Spoiler alert: I didn't mess up, the sub was amazing. I got a regular size and even though the bread for it looked small, the employee making my sandwich loaded on the fresh cut meats and cheese. The filling for the sub protruded out all sides of the bread and instantly became a sub worth paying for. I got it mikes way which is all the toppings plus oil, vinegar, and Italian spices. I absolutely LOVE Jersey Mike's! I first discovered them on a trip to Orlando several years ago and was so excited when I started to see them popping up in Jacksonville. I am completely obsessed with their Chicken Philly. I think they do it better than anywhere else around town (reminds me of my favorite experience with Philly Cheesesteaks up north). I visited this location today. I've come in a few times before and good employees were working today not so much. The first guy was new but was not being helped. I asked for the roast beef and provolone which I always got before cuz it's healthy. I also asked for it to be grilled as I have always had done here. They reacted so badly like we cannot grill meat or bread. We can microwave it I was like absolutely not. Then to be sure the guy asked the other girl working. She responding no we cannot grill that we can nuke it. I was like really??!?! 10 dollars for a microwaved meal I think not. My first time in was chaotic. The line was not long, though I was told it is usually out the door at the time of day I was there. I gave my order - a simple Regular Italian Sub make it Mike's Way. I want it to go. They HAD to make my order at the same time they were making the lady's order in front of me. I want mine to go. She does, too. There are too many people handling my order. I get home - you guessed it, I have the wrong sandwich. My advice go to Larry's Giant Subs and get what you want. Jersey Mike's won't see me again. Good sub, slow process. I like their food but often avoid going there because of the time it takes to get in and out. Unfortunately as several other places have opened around it in the last year or so it has become difficult to park at times. Once you're inside it just takes longer.
