Was ignored when picking up an order and made no effort to accommodate me very disrespectful

I'm honestly very disappointed with the employees/service. Today me and my boyfriend came in to try Jersey Mike's for the first time! The guy taking our order came off as in a rush from the start of us walking in.. No one was there other than an older lady that was finishing paying for her order. We order our sandwiches and my bf wanted the Hot Honey Sandwich and the boy shakes his head no. Then said we do not have that. So he picked a different one and had asked for tomato's and mayo he looked as if that annoyed him. I would try to get my words out on what i wanted on my sandwich and the guy cut me off and responded with "mikes way" then wrapped it up.. I had no time to ask for exactly what I wanted. Nor did this boy ask if the sandwiches were made to our liking.. I have worked at a sub shop and we would never get by with treating customers that way and rush them out of our store! Long line of people waiting around. went to counter and rude adult male stated I was to close to counter and they would call by name when order was ready. Young girl asked me my name I told her and while this rude male adult was telling me I was to close to the counter she brought me the order. Very disappointed- placed an online order for pick up. When I arrived I tried calling into the store to see if they would be able to run my order out to my car. I had a screaming toddler in the back seat and am pregnant .They had no customers in the store yet no one picked up the phone . Upon getting home I opened up my order to find that it was incorrect . The good: In store purchases are perfection, most employees I've encountered were friendly. Store is clean. Service is fast. The bad: Every, and I do mean EVERY delivery order I've placed has been missing ingredients. Now that much of the pandemic grief has slowly faded, this location is back to its top performance. I had noticed that they actually enforce the requirement to wear a mask, up to the point of having people march out because they were actually asked to comply. I commend them for that because that's a difficult decision. The food, particularly the way they make sandwiches like the Big Kahuna has returned to its first rate level that I have expected from them since they opened. Serving size is pathetic. A "regular" serves two, according to Jersey Mike. Ordered JM with DoorDash, as I've done in the past many times, but upon receiving a sandwich that was covered in Jalapeño ( not edible!) I realized that Door Dash is limited with what it can do in this situation. My "dasher" was very nice, but could do nothing about the incorrect order, only could suggest calling the store. When I did, this snotty kid tells me that I have to pick up the new sandwich...what's the point in door dash then? Anyway, it was either take a fraction of a refund from Door Dash, or this kid's word that there will be a credit on my account (which will never happen..I do know this from past experience), I took the "token $5 refund for a $20+ sandwich and will NEVER order from them again with DoorDash or otherwise.. read more

Was shocked to read some others' reviews of this place! I go here a lot (maybe once a week on average?) and have had only good experiences here. They are quick and friendly, there is always fun music playing, and they'll discuss sandwich choices or whatever else comes up and sometimes even ask if I liked my food... I guess if any of that stuff happened to me I'd be writing a bad review, but I love this Jersey Mike's! Not sure what all the bad ratings are about. Especially re: the service? I happen to stop by here regularly, as it's on my route home from work. It's nice to have a place that serves up fresh tasting sub sandwiches as an alternative to unhealthier fast food options (if I could only lay off the chips as well). Service is always friendly and the employees seem to have a great sense of humor and are upbeat and pleasant with the customers. Lines go pretty quickly. I think the only times I've seen service slowed down is when the customers ahead of me are being ambivalent about their topping choices... ambivalent to the point where it almost seems like a major life choice... I digress. Sandwiches have always tasted good, fresh veggies/toppings. I keep it simple and get things Mike's Way. Sometimes the freshness of the bread can be a little hit or miss depending on what time of day you get there. Otherwise, no major complaints from me. I like the fact they have a rewards/points system, and I've already scored 3 free subs as a result, which is a nice surprise at the end of a long work day. Hey, it's the little things in life. Got a sandwich to go, and 10 minutes later, the sandwich was a soggy mess. Hopefully this was just a fluke that they put on too much oil to make the sandwich a soupy mush. I've had sandwiches from Jersey Mike's at several other locations without this problem. Never have this problem at Capri Deli, or really any other sub shop for that matter. Maybe not putting on a half cup of oil onto a sandwich would alleviate this problem. It's simple common sense, really. I was really looking forward to this location opening. I had a small mishap where my order was botched elsewhere but upon speaking with the catering director, all was understood and made right. Enter Brian at Jersey Mike's Buffalo Grove... So I meet Brian to get my replacement subs. He checked my original receipt and said no problem. So I watched him make my #4 Italian. It was like watching Itzak on his Stradivarius! This man had a command of the slicer, piled on the condiments, and squirted on the sauces like it was no one's business. I've never seen anyone make a sandwich with so much passion, mastery and flair. And when done, it was one damn good pretty looking sandwich. It was a giant so he cut it into 1/4's. I wanted to grab one and eat it right there. It was a work of art. I could cry. Thank you Jersey Mike's, Brian, for raising the sub sandwich bar way high. I expect all subs to be made this way, look this gorgeous and taste this good from now on. I guess I will be back often :) read more

Typically one of my favorite places to grab a sub, but within the last year, this location is not as good as it once was. They are messing up ingredients on orders and skimping on the meat and cheese. Is it more difficult to cut salami than ham? Because whenever I get my favorite #11, the ham is there and then maybe 3 pieces of salami cut super thin. If you order extra meat for #11, you can expect mostly ham and very little salami, not really any "extra". And in general ordering extra meat and cheese at this location is not worth it. You end up with a "normal" size sandwich because of the skimping. I notice mostly new people working at this location and I am not sure if they are not trained well or just don't care, but the workers used to be so friendly and now it is like any customer is an inconvenience. I hope the owner will take some steps to improve this place. I really do love the subs. But I've gotten to the point lately than when ordering online I will try to order from any of the other locations in the area instead of this location. read more

This Jersey Mike's just opened, but they they've got what it takes. They have been extremely busy since this is their first week, but seem to be able to handle it well and with a friendly attitude. Even though they were busy they had someone wiping down tables as people left. They also have a nice strip of confortable booths along the wall as well as tables for larger groups. The sandwiches are big and full of meat. My favorite is 'The Big Kahuna.' It's a hot sandwich with loads of thinly sliced beef(cooked when you order it) grilled onion, mushrooms, and Jalapenos, all covered with cheese that melt into everything else! They have white and whole wheat breads. The only down side that I can see is that with all the other businesses in the area the parking isn't very big. read more

The food is generally pretty decent, but this particular Jersey Mike's has awful service. I've ordered online for pickup a few times now and all 3 times (It took 3 to inspire this review) my order hadn't even been started yet by the staff. All 3 times I've announced that I'm there to pick up an online order, and been meet with "Oh, there's an order. We'll get that started." One of those times the employees weren't even in the store. I stood at the counter and after a moment two people got out of a car in the parking lot and came inside, then said they'd start my order. I have also been buttered up with free chips and drinks on these occasions, in a gesture resembling "soz fam, don't tell my boss." I have also been denied service over the phone. I've been told that they can't take orders over the phone and I can only order online. The young woman on the phone confirmed that she was indeed standing behind the counter at the time, and it was indeed part of her general duties to prepare the sandwiches, but statutes forbade her from taking an order for pickup. read more

This store really needs to train their staff better. There was not one full slice if meat on any of the three sandwiches we ordered and the guy that slices the meat does only the meat and nothing more. We ordered one wrap and I had to complain to get it re-made as there was no way to pick it up. Thank goodness for Mya she redid the wrap so my son could pick it up and enjoy it. read more

I'm writing this for my husband, (doesn't have a yelp account) who had a horrible experience there tonight. First off he was ignored when he walked in. The one guy behind the counter finished helping the people who where there before my husband, and then the server guy walked off. Didn't acknowledge my husband, there was no "I'll be right back", just walked into the back room. Finally the server came back, slapped the bread down in whatever leftover juices where on the carving board, slapped together the sandwich, which was already falling apart, threw it an a bag. My husband paid, didn't say a word and as he was leaving the server yelled out in frustration. "Ahhhhhhh!" ok dude. It's a sandwich shop. Calm down. To top it all off the bread had MOLD on it. The new manager is quite something. I work in the same strip, and the previous management was always kind enough to give me discount. After the new management, I kindly asked for the discount and the manager asks what he will get in return when he visits me at my workplace. And he goes off with analogies as to how it doesn't make sense to offer discounts to people working in the same mall. I don't care for a couple cents discount, but I am truly disappointed in his attitude. He flat out lied about the system "not able to" give discounts. I ordered a veg wrap. It was so wet it dripped and dripped and dripped then it fell apart. I had to eat it with a knife and fork. Plus all it was, was mostly shredded iceberg lettuce, too many onions, tiny pieces of green pepper I could barely see, some cheese and a little sauce (I saw him put it on) that I couldn't taste. HORRIBLE!! My friend had the chicken wrap she said it was ok, not very good. $23.72!!! TOTAL RIPOFF!!! Dysfunctional really is the best way to describe this place. Nobody seems to know what they should be doing. Our subs were ready and so were the customers behind us, but nobody out of 3 employees were at the register to ring us up. The girl standing by the slicer really seemed to hate her job, kept throwing bread next to the slicer for no apparent reason. The guy doing the hot cooking kept trying to toss stuff into the garbage, but it kept landing on the flat top grill where my food was cooking. Gross. Sandwiches were good-ish, but we were really turned off by the service. The dining area was a mess, floor covered in garbage and dirty tables. Holy cow. Apparently Jersey Mike's Subs is really hit or miss. I waited 20 minutes for a sub and NO ONE ELSE was in line. It was 7 pm and they already ran out of bacon. A sandwich shop that doesn't have bacon??? The young high school intern looking kid was essentially useless - he stocked the chips shelves and the condiments. The only person I felt bad for was the cook. He was working hard at the grill, but he didn't have any ingredients he needed to do his job!! He had to wait for the "slicer" lady to slice everything - meat, cheese, etc. Apparently the stocker kid and the cook can't do the slicing??? Anyway, after they didn't have the sub I wanted (due to lack of bacon), I ordered a Reuben. My Reuben had half the meat of the guy-behind-me's Reuben. Why? Looks like the lady slicing the meat was just eyeballing everything and she's not very good at it. After waiting for over 20 minutes, I finally have my sandwich that had a tiny bit of meat...there's a section of my sandwich where there is no meat - just bread. The other guy got a sandwich overflowing with meat and cheese. They opened a over MONTH ago, so this stuff should not be happening! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!!! read more

I haven't been to this location in a VERY LONG time simply because of their weird "rules." Any other Jersey Mike's I can get a turkey and bacon sub and ask for them to grill the onions and they will. This place? In the beginning, yes, they would, suddenly they refuse, first claiming that they've NEVER done this (really? You've worked at this location a few months, and I've been coming since it opened, and you think you know more than I do?), and then they tell me that they CANNOT put hot items on a cold sandwich. What? No other sandwich/sub chain has an issue with putting grilled onions on a cold turkey sandwich, so why should you? So, if I want a Jersey Mike's sub, I'll wait until I'm in the Libertyville area running errands and go to that location. They'll make a sub the way you want and won't give you lip. read more

I'm confused by the bad ratings here! We were excited when this location opened up as we love Jersey Mike's and were happy to have one close by. We eat here probably more than we should admit - once every week or two. The employees are consistently friendly, nice and have a good sense of humor. The subs are almost always perfect and delicious. From time to time a topping is forgotten or something small like that, but generally always good. Our faves are the turkey and provolone; chicken club; classic italian (forget the real name/number); and chipotle cheese steak. Kids love the salami sub kids meal with a cookie. Only thing that could make it better is if they had Coke products :) read more

I come here a couple times a week. Been extremely happy with both the food quality and the service. That is, until recently. They changed management this month. That change had a ripple effect on quality and service. The new manager (I don't know his name) clearly does not know what he is doing. He doesn't listen and repeatedly asks what to put on the sandwiches. I have seen him handle 'equipment' (not utensils) with a pair a gloves and then handle the ingredients with the same pair of gloves. He also doesn't appear to know how much of each ingredient to put in the sandwich (too little). I know I am buying food, and not an attitude, but I got the sense that he doesn't want to be bothered. Bring back the previous manager and the highly trained staff. read more

I waited in line for over 2 hours and received 52 free sandwich tickets. the new owner will not honor them so they have lost a customer for life.
