My experience at Jerrie's Shop (bathing suit store in Woodbury): - I was told about 10 times, during my 45 minutes there, that the pieces I was holding were not part of the sale. Each time I said, "understood." - I tried on a bathing suit and as I was looking at myself in the mirror and talking to my sister about the bathing suit, I was approached by one of their sale's staff and told that I needed a larger size. I could see two other employees standing in the corner of the dressing room, staring at me and rolling their eyes. I began to tell her that I didn't think I needed a different size, she cut me off and said, "no, you do." She came back a minute later with the larger size. Please note that this input was unsolicited. I never asked for their opinion or for them to grab me a different size. - My fitting room curtain was abruptly opened by the sales staff while I was undressed. I explained that I was uncomfortable with her doing that, her response, "I am used to seeing women naked." - I was stared down the entire time and when I asked a question about a bathing suit bottom, I was yelled at and the response was, "No! That one is not extra coverage!" - I showed my sister a dress and explained to her that it was too big for me, the owner, Marna Hann, looked at me and yelled, "Trust me that fits you!" and she rolled her eyes. Again, I didn't ask for her input or opinion. I wasn't even addressing her. I was talking to my sister. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. How do 4 women get away with this type of behavior? Did I do something wrong? Luckily my sister witnessed it and validated everything I felt and experienced, and then I read the online reviews and more validation........Read all of the reviews!!! DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY at a store that intentionally body shames women and treats women with absolute disrespect and borderline harrasment. I should've spent my money elsewhere. There isn't a single brand they sell that you cannot find at Everything But Water, Nordstrom's, Saks or Bloomies. Marna if you are reading this, I wonder what the brands you sell would have to say about your behavior? Taking into consideration the importance of body positivity, inclusivity and respect, wonder how they would feel about you, your partner and employees, representing their brand and products? I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at The Jerrie Shop in Woodbury was so appalling I felt compelled to speak up. From the moment I walked in, I was completely ignored by the owner- despite the store being empty. I spent nearly 20 minutes trying to get her attention while she stood there doing absolutely nothing. When I finally did get her to acknowledge me, she was unbelievably rude and dismissive. I asked if a bikini top came in another size, and instead of helping, she led me to one-pieces and bluntly told me I was "too large" to look good in any of her bikinis. Excuse me? Does she even want customers? The judgmental side-eyes, the condescending tone- every time I picked something up, it was "That's not for you." I'm sorry, but I didn't walk into your store to be insulted. The final straw was when I asked if a one-piece came in a small and she laughed in my face. Actually laughed. It was humiliating and completely uncalled for. I walked out immediately and will never return. I don't know how this shop is still in business with an owner who treats potential customers this way. Extremely rude staff, unfortunately. She was so friendly until it became clear I wasn't buying anything- I didn't love anything on my body and I wasn't ready to commit. I wanted to take a picture of the bikini so I could remember it and return to the store to purchase. She misunderstood me as wanting to shop around and was suddenly so cold and rude towards me. Rude owner....with the "rodeo drive attitude"....I went in to find a nice bathing suit. The woman behind the counter, think was owner, was so rude and condescending.... there is nothing worse then shopping and not being treated with a warm and friendly welcome. The atmosphere from the minute you walk in, was anything but comfortable. There are so many places to purchase bathing suits, and you sort of wonder why a store owner would conduct themselves in this behavior. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I NEVER write reviews on YELP!!! This store is run by the most obnoxious women on the planet. The owner, an older blonde woman, is so pushy and rude it is mind-blowing. She gave me a bathing suit to try on...she came back a few mins later to ask what I thought. I told her I didn't like it and handed it back to her on the hanger. She blatantly rolled her eyes at me and said "OKAY" with such disgust and disapproval. I've never been treated so poorly in a store. I truly don't even understand how anyone shops at this place. Last year, I swore I'd never come back because she sold me a suit that had sheer stocking-like areas on the top. She instructed me exactly how to wash it (with warm water in the sink). After one wearing, I did exactly what she told me and the sheer material started to pill. I brought it back the next day and she proceeded to argue with me telling me I "clearly washed it in the washing machine" after I swore to her I rinsed it in the sink. She went to the back to get me a new suit and threw it at me. Shame on me for going back a year later...another year, same piss poor treatment. I'm deeply upset. Yesterday on Saturday, June 13th I entered the Woodbury shop with my sister. It was the only shop I had to pull the door open to by touching the handle. Every other store had the door open. We then saw a sign to use hand sanitizer, having to touch the handle of the bottle- which sort of defeats the purpose as many people have to pump the same handle down, but ok. Upon arriving, I immediately asked a heavy set woman worth short blonde hair what the return policy was and stated that I would like to purchase and try the bathing suits on at home. Her response was this, word for word: "No. We're really good at helping you find the right suit, so just let us help you." Denying me the right to return as an option.. She then walked over to me and COUGHED right next to me!!! Mind you retail just opened after covid19 and I am still really not comfortable going into a store: Yes she was wearing a mask, but the ONLY reason I wanted to try the suits on at home was for socially distancing reasons and not to deal with anyone helping me. I can help myself. So upset she coughed next to me I immediately walked to the front of the store. Found my sister and walked out. I then go online and see IT IS a 20 day return policy. I believe the woman was ageist and denied me the store's return policy because she saw I was young. Well congrats to you, losing a customer for life. I've never been treated so poorly in a store- lied to like that before about a return policy. Disgusting. This is why my generation and future generations will only shop online because of how awful sales people are. read more

The selection is beautiful but does not make up for the horrific customer service. I bought a top for $200 and it broke after 1 wash. When I bought it back to exchange the woman was nothing but nasty. She fully began yelling at me in front of other patrons. Truly the most unprofessional display I've ever seen. read more

Awful experience! I was in the Woodbury Store with my daughter. The owner AMY was helping us. She showed us items that were not what we had asked for. She kept saying just try anyway,I don't care, I'm making you try it you have to,EXTREMELY PUSHY. Once set up in the dressing room. She completely left us to help and chat with another customer (who I'm sure was spending more money than us) about her children and what they are up to with their lives so the entire dressing room could hear. We were then checked on by another sales woman who helped us find what we had asked for in a less overwhelming way. I was just shocked at the customer service we received from the OWNER. I get it she a proud mamma ,but a poor business Owner .What a terrible way to do business in a specialty store where people come for help. Went to this store with great hopes of finding my hard-to-fit teenager a bathing suit she would love. Especially went because the website states: "At Jerrie Shop, you get personalized attention, fittings and incredible selection from size 4-16, including bra sizes D, DD, E & F!" My daughter wears a 32F or 32G bra. Entered the shop and there were literally a TON of suits...great, we will be victorious, I thought. Was so disappointed with the entire experience!! Even though there was no one else in the store when we arrived, the two sales people were behind the counter, a TV was blaring and we were in the store about 5 minutes before we were acknowledged. One of the women approached us after a few minutes, the other remained glued to her chair until after about 15 minutes when another customer came in, barely looking up from whatever she was doing. I said that my daughter wanted a black bikini and told her what size bra she wears. I know what a challenge it is to find a suit for her, but a pro should not give me a suit that is a 38D and try to convince me that it fits her. It is 4 inches too large in the band and at least 1 full cup size too small. The sales woman brought in no cup that was larger than a DD, and only two of the six or so she brought in were black, the rest were colored/patterned. It was clear after about 10 minutes that they had nothing that would fit, but still, we were brought suits that weren't what we were looking for and weren't the right size. :( Something else that was really off-putting...the impatient saleswoman kept on trying to peek in the curtains to see if what she brought fit. Anyone who has ever gone shopping with a 15 year old kid who is already embarrassed about her body should realize that this is a no-no!! And she also stated loudly: "She has BIG BOOBS!" Gee, really? First off let me say this place is a rip off! They scam you. For instance you think you are getting 20% off some brands ex. PROFILE and LABLANCA however after shopping there a few time in both stores I noticed on these companies the manufacturers price tags ripped off. I took notice and went to Lord and Taylor and Macy's where I noticed their tags were still attached, I made a note of the price and when I went back to Jerrie Shop to check it out. They had jacked up the prices like 8 bucks!! Where as in the department stores you get the price that the manufacturer has with an additional 20 or 25% off! I also purchased a profile bathing suit in Lord And Taylor and received a free cover up,when I was in Jerrie Shop I saw the same free cover up I was given as a gift with purchase with a price tag on it for $48!!!! I couldn't believe it. I understand small businesses need to survive,but ripping off your customers is not the way to do it. Also the woman that works in the Rockville Centre store ,I believe she is the owner a heavyset blonde could possibly be most unfriendly and nastiest woman in America! She has some mouth on her. I can't believe the way she was talking,more like yelling at a customer who had an issue with something. What a way to treat your customers. This Store deserves ZERO stars. Worst customer Service, rudest most disgusting people working there, worst selection - there are seriously not enough negative things I can say about BOTH locations. I was unfortunately given a gift and had to walk in and when i wanted to return what I received- they Flipped out! I ended up having a screaming match with the woman who worked there and the Manager before getting so frustrated I took my things and stormed out. I then went to the RVC Location where AGAIN not a single person smiled or said hello or offered to help but huffed and puffed when i wanted to return. I asked to see a Sarong which was rolled up in a basket and I was told NO - You don't need to buy it I dont care - im not unrolling it to show you. It was SO unbelievable. I have never in my entire life seen a store run like this. The funny part is -their selection is GROSS. Trashy ugly crappy quality.
