Jernigan's is the restaurant located inside the Kia Center that's usually reserved for those with specific seating. I was fortunate enough to have some of those seats and thus got to try this out. It's a buffet style, and man can you go to town if you really wanted. Salad, fruit, smoked chicken, ham, veggies, mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, a whole charcuterie section and more. Oh yeah and don't forget the ice cream sundae bar. They also wait on you at the tables, getting you drinks if you want though you could walk over to the bar as well. If it's before game time, you can walk in and be seated but as the game starts they usually want you to make a reservation. I have to say the coolest part was the view while dining here. It's on the 4th floor so you can sit and literally look out on the court. That was pretty neat. read more

We've been to this restaurant about four times. We like to eat dinner here as magic fans to watch the games, eat/drink, and be around good service. Our recent visit was no exception, thanks to our attentive and friendly server, Eric. However, the food is average and not the main draw. You're really paying for the overall experience, which includes all-you-can-eat and drink (beer, wine, and soda). At $105 per person, it may seem steep, but considering the prices at Kia center, it's somewhat a decent value. My one complaint is aimed at management who allow non-dining guests to enter the restaurant and dining area. By not creating a barrier, separating the area between the bar and dining area, people throughout the game kept walking to our table to video, watch and take pictures of the game, even though they did not have reservations to allow them in dining area. This poor control of guests who have no reservations can be distracting and intrusive. As someone paying $200 for a dinner and show experience, I don't want strangers hovering over my table or disrupting my meal. The dining area should be reserved for paying customers. Overall, this restaurant is a great choice for a fun and unique night out. Just be aware of the potential distractions, and hopefully, management will take steps to address this issue. I understand most people come here for the experience of watching an nba game, but for my yelp loyal, I have to say that the food is not worth the price. The staff was "stingy" with the buffet items. One example, the roast at the carving station looked wonderful and had a second "slab" untouched. I'm assuming they had plenty to go around. It wasn't a terribly crowded night. I asked for a "good slice" of the roast beef. The guy proceeded to give me a paper thin slice. Fine. "Can you carve me another?" I asked. He sucked his teeth while carving another even thinner slice. I chuckled a bit and told him I'd be back. Needless to say, a huge part of eating out is the experience. And the staff wasn't overly happy to serve us, attitude at the ice cream station as well. The dining experience was very chaotic. From the moment we walked in, they were scurrying around. We heard excuses of "new system" problems from more than one person. We were seated, but sat there for about 5 minutes before we had to flag someone down to see if we should go up to the buffet. That person stopped and gave us plates. We grabbed food and came back. We didn't have drinks (incl. water) so we had to flag another person down who said she would be back with water. She never came back. We walked to the buffet area and snagged someone else, she eventually brought us water and took our drink orders. About 15 minutes after we sat down, we met our assigned waiter for the first time. While we were there early in the evening mealtime, we were told they were already out of several items (Cabernet, IPA, Modelo). Later, our waiter "found" Modelo though. The food was tasty and the servers, when we could get one, were all friendly. Overall, this was not worth the price we paid. If the evening had gone flawlessly, I could justify the price based on the convenience and expectation that an arena dining location just costs more. Also, for concerts, you're located behind the stage so a black curtain blocked our view for the entire opening act. Why it took that long? Well, it had a lot to do with the chaos and there not being a way to enter the facility before the event doors open. We had reservations for 6:30 pm, but we were there at the hostess closer to 6:45 (we had to wade through people) and seated around 7 pm. Not sure why reservations begin at 6:30 pm when the Amway doors don't open until 6:30 pm btw. There should be a way to access Jernigan's separate from waiting in line. For example, maybe a separate line, just for Jernigans, where the security people verify you have reservations? I'd probably try one more time to see. I would not book at doors open though. I also wouldn't book here if I wanted to see the opening act. It would be better with TVs displaying event. read more

Horrible experience that I had to walk out and leave. I had reservations at 7pm and arrived at 6:45pm. I let them know I had a reservation for 4 when I checked in at the front desk so the lady told me to hold on as they were waiting for the first reservations to clear out. A few minutes pass by and the list tells me I only made the reservation for 2 but I showed her my confirmation for 4 people. She then says "I see what they did" and walks away. During this time multiple "white" people were walking in and going straight through without the front desk checking if they had a reservation. When I would look at her she would apologize and say "the first reservations are taking a while" all this time there were more than enough open tables available. It was getting close to the time of the game starting and we didn't want to miss the opening of it (since they wouldn't even let us inside the restaurant to view the game while we waited) so I went to the lady at the front desk and told her to forget about it. She apologized (didn't even offer a solution) and told us goodbye. For the prices you pay ($80 pp) for this food buffet experience, I would think you would have it together but next time I'll just skip this restaurant. read more

I has dinner here with a group of 12. Our dinner was included as part of our ticket for a magic game. In addition to dinner, drinks (beer and wine) were included. Our group was sat at 2 tables with a nice view of the basketball court. It was tucked away so there was only one other party in our area. Dinner was a buffet. There was a decent selection of food items- salad, charcuterie, veggies, nachos, a meat cutting station, and dessert. It would have been nice to have more selection but i didn't leave hungry. For drinks, we had several options for beer, most of which were light beers. I don't recall any IPAs or sours. I did not order wine. We put in our drink order with our server and it took awhile.... To the point that my husband got tired of waiting and ordered drinks at the bar. When our server came with the drinks, he kind of gave us a hard time about it and it seemed that he didn't want to give us our drinks (until my husband distributed the extra drinks to other people in our party who were drink-less). Although it wasn't the best meal, I thought the value was good since it was part of our basketball game ticket. I have trouble rating this place anything under a five star. My daughter and I are season ticket holders in the lower promenade for the Magic, and we have come here for dinner several times during games. It is a $66 upgrade, inclusive of tax and gratuity. This lands you a ledge seat overlooking the basket under the Ozone. You also get a full buffer until end of third quarter. The menu changes daily and has a carving station, charcuterie, sundae bar and all sorts of rotating dishes. This is comparable to a banquet at a high end function. Worth every penny in my mind. Service is good, and many are regular servers. Jeff, the manager, is always attentive and on the floor. He slaps always calls back when we leave a message for a reservation. What kind of restaurant only serves fans some 50+ days of the year? Well that would be Jernigans. They are open during Orlando Magic Games and Amway concerts that cater to a crowd that can afford a more expensive night out like Billy Joel or Elton John. How do you get in this venue? Well let's dish. First the Magic Fans with louge tickets get first crack at Jernigan's. You can make reservations through a website and usually for most fans that means that you can't get in until tip off at 7 pm. I tried to eat quickly at a game during the holiday season and our server was overloaded with patrons. Generally they provide superior service and if you want you can sit there through the game. The food buffet and drink service ends at the end of the 3rd quarter like other places at Amway. To get to Jernigans you take the elevator up to 4th floor and someone escorts you to the restaurant entrance. The restaurant is at the same level as all the sky boxes. I have eaten there over the last 3 years a couple times each year the food offerings seem to get better. This last time in Dec 2017 they had several chefs at the stations preparing food in batches so that everything was fresh and tasty. There is a charcuterie and cheese board, a market salad bar, usually a station with mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, pasta and some kind of homestyle food. There is a carving station, usually several vegetable, roasted potatoes and rice dishes. One night I saw poke boats and a Polynesian pork buffet with fries. The buffet hits several notes vegetarian, paleo, kids, and stuff yourself silly on protein (that would be me.) They also have a high quality dessert spread that seems to be made in house including sundaes. They really mix it up each time so that it is a whole new spread (remember they are not open everyday so they have time to plan.) There are three seating levels. 2 levels of ledges where you sit at a counter and face the court or a third table level which is near the buffet. I think they are now charging an extra $10 to sit on the lower ledge level where everyone is facing forward towards the court. This is not all that conducive for a group unless your single focus is the event and you want to climb 2 short sets of stairs. Are there better restaurants in town? Probably but the combination of a great buffet and the view of the game or concert can't be beat. Only a couple downsides. Only once did I see a tshirt launcher hit this level and you are not as engaged with Stuff the Magic Mascot and the rest of the fans that you get with a regular seat. read more

So it was kind of hard to find information about this restaurant online. This restaurant is located inside the Amway Center and on their website there is an article about it but otherwise really no information. There is a spot where you can make reservations but nothing as far as price was included menu, none of that. My friend won a silent auction and got a pair of tickets to have dinner at Jernigans before a Magic game and I was his lucky plus one. We were both excited because we've heard great things about it but totally sure what to expect. There are two seatings, 530 and seven, we got the 530 seating so we had to be done by 6:45 or seven to allow the next group of people to come in. If you have the 7 o'clock seating you can stay at your table for the duration of the game and the seats are awesome. You're right up against the edge and there's great view of their court. As for the food, everything was excellent! The night that we went they had lemon pepper chicken, pot roast, mashed potatoes, fried fish, veggies, carving station with pork (it was a little dry), a salad bar and a small charcuterie area. Oh yeah! They have a build your own sundae bar, which was a lot of fun. The price for our meals was $47 (alcohol not included) a person, I believe it's more like 65 if you do the 7 PM but it's definitely worth it and anyone that has a ticket to the game can go no matter where your seats are. My advice would be to buy the cheapest ticket you can and make a reservation for the 7 PM Dining and then sit there the whole time and watch the game from great seats! read more

No problems with seating and arrangements. *Note - upgrade reservations include food and wster. No soda or alcohol. But Magic Bucks are good. Food is served until the end of the 3rd quarter Service - 5 stars. Friendly. Helpful. Attentive with plates and drinks and water refills. Food 3-4 stars depending. Decent amount of options. I've been here multiple times since we have box seats for the Magic game. It's the best food you'll get at a sports venue. Classy but still relaxed. Higher end food with a big view of the court and the pre-game events and warm ups. This is buffet style, so be warned. The food isn't always piping hot (depends when they bring out each new batch) and when it comes to meat you don't get to decide how you want it cooked. However, there is always a lot of variety. They almost always have a fish, chicken, and carved meat option. There is a salad, cheese and charcuterie station. The dessert station always has so many yummy options including a sundae bar (with my favorite Oreo toppings!) For someone that tries to eat healthy, I like that I have the option of so many different vegetables. For you carb lovers though, don't worry. There is plenty of potato, pasta, or rice to satisfy. I haven't ever had a really bad meal there. But like I said earlier, it's not the absolute ten out of ten best food I've eaten either depending on when I get there and how fresh or hot everything is. Honestly, I'm somewhat surprised by the low ratings that some people have given to this place on here. I've been here twice for Magic games and the bottom line is this: you're going to get some good, not great, food, but more importantly you're going to get a great view of the game, especially if you plan it right. It is located on the Club Level, but here's the most important part: you can come here if you have ANY ticket to the game. Just make a reservation and go up to Club Level and tell the entrance staff that you're there for the restaurant and they'll send you over. After that it is a pretty easy process of getting in. There are a bunch of seatings, but I think ones before the game may be limited to Club Level people or people with certain kinds of tickets. That is immaterial though because the best seating is the one that starts at tipoff of the game. That's what you want to get, as they will let you sit at your table for the entire game, during which you get unlimited food up until the end of the 3rd quarter and service straight to your table for drinks (they have a full bar, including wine bottles). The food here is served buffet style so you can get as much as you want. The pricing is around $40-60/person depending on the day. They have a broad range of food offerings so you are bound to find at least something you will like. The menu appears to change somewhat every time you come here. I always tend to go with whatever beef/steak offering they have as that always tends to be on point. The other items are very hit or miss - there were some items I absolutely disliked but some that were good. You shouldn't expect high end steakhouse style food here; however, the food is certainly a step up from other places in the arena. The most impressive part of the food offerings seems to be the dessert, but make sure you get it early on because they run out of or pull some of the dessert items before the end of the 3rd. Service here was excellent. I recommend arriving early as it is far easier for them to get you optimal seating at that point. We showed up about 15 minutes early before tip-off and requested Loge seating (the row of seats that directly faces the game - easily the best view you're going to get and very comparable to any Club Level seat) and they had no problems getting those for us. (Your other options would be booth or table style seating but you won't be directly facing the game; those are probably better if you don't intend to stick around the whole game). Our server during the game was great - very attentive, came around a lot, and even made a "save" for us when we accidentally left a Magic shirt that we had won behind, by hanging onto it till we inevitably came back to get it. Overall - if I was rating based on the food only I'd have gone with 3 to 3.5 stars, but the good service and the great atmosphere/view merits an overall rating of at least 4. A great place to watch the game from - and a great deal if you get cheap tickets to the game, as you could end up spending as little as $60-70 for the functional equivalent of Club Level seats with unlimited food along with it. If you compare that to Club Level pricing for tickets you're either breaking even or ahead, with the bonus of unlimited food. read more

Yes it was buffet style, and yes they had vegetarian/vegan options, but I think the menu changes often so it might be worth calling ahead to find out what's on the menu. Selection was small but decent. The best part was our seats, on the balcony overlooking the game. Someone posted great advice on here: you DO have to buy a ticket to the game AND Jernigan's, so just get the cheapest seats and then buy Jernigan's tickets. We paid like $12 for game tix. If you like to be involved in the game, catching t-shirts etc. then this isn't the place to sit. Overall it was a great experience! Worth the price if you are looking for a special night out. I surprised my husband (a HUGE Magic fan) and took him here for his birthday this past January. We had some trouble getting to the actual restaurant, as several ushers told us different things and lead us on a goose chase around Amway. After probably more than 10 minutes of wandering around we were finally led in the right direction but sadly missed tip off. Jernigan's has 2 types of seating, straight forward seating where you sit side-by-side and can watch the game face-forward or table/booth seating in which you have to turn your head or chair to watch the game face forward. I liked the table seating for this particular occassion because it was more private but I think next time we'll try the straight-forward seating instead. Jernigan's is a station-set-up restaurant. You can walk around and pick food from several different stations that feature all sorts of cuisine. I will say that almost everything we had was really good, but nothing was really GREAT. What you really get out of Jernigan's is a great view of the game and unlimited food & soft drinks. You can sit at Jernigan's for the entire game and enjoy the great view. We didn't feel rushed to leave but I will say that as the game went on our server got a little lazier. Drinks weren't coming out as fast, he didn't come by to check up on us often... Because I knew we could sit around the the entire game I had purchased $15 seats. Totally worth it in my opinion because for a decent price we got dinner, drinks, and an awesome view to watch the Magic defeat the Raptors. This place has gone downhill fast! We dined here last year and had a good experience with a wide variety of food..similar to what others reviewers have mentioned in 2010/2011. Here is our menu from 1-29-2012 game against Indiana Pacers Sliced turkey, corned beef, panini's, coleslaw, red cabbage, squash, fajitas, beets, jambalaya. OK, seriously you are charging guest $40 to eat food found in the food court for $10? The bread was ROCK hard, and could not be eaten. I even asked the chef why they would not serve at least one fish dish, and his response was they put some shrimp in the jambalaya. You can see the cost cutting with no seafood found (the highlight was the beef sliced for the fajitas they carved to order was well marinated and properly tenderized flank steak). The server was very attentive, even admitted the food varies depending on the game played. In other words, when the Lakers show up you might get sliced tenderloin and sushi...sorry about tonight's food we are feeding you. I would HIGHLY suggest to get a copy of the menu before they empty your wallet with substandard stadium food. If you are eating here to improve you view during a game b/c your seats are in the nosebleed section it's only a slightly lower level. But since we have lower bowl seats 7 rows up from court, we were not interested in anything except a quality meal, which is no longer offered here every night. Upon speaking to management they were disinterested in any comments and offered a free round of drinks, which I declined and said better food would be acceptable such as sushi or at least ONE fish dish! Great cheese selection. I enjoyed the London broil, medium rare. Tender with a perfect horseradish sauce to compliment. The cornbread was AMAZING with cranberries and jalapeños mixed in. Just got back from the Magic game tonight and despite losing to the 76ers...dinner was a win. We heard about Jernigan's from a friend and decided to give it a try. You do have to buy tickets to the game but it doesn't matter where, so we purchased nosebleeds and never went to the seats. The restaurant is at club level (you take the elevators to club level) and is contemporary without being stuffy. There are two seatings, before the game and right at tip off. Go for the seating at tip off and make sure that you get to Jernigan's at least 30-40 mins prior so that you are in the line for seating "at the ledge" which is first come first serve. You will be seated facing the court and enjoy the game (and dinner) at club level. The food was very good. There are three or four different "chef's tables" which have themes like tropical, italian, traditional American, seafood, etc served buffet style with carving stations. We had absolutely delicious pork tenderloin, turkey and roast beef with all types of sides like alfredo pasta with scallops, roasted potatoes, asparagus with truffle oil, and a variety of salads. I had a tasty calamari and peppers side, too. For dessert, they offer a la carte options from the Dessert Lady (a downtown favorite). Our chocolate ganache cake was outrageous and was enough for at least three people. I also had a glass of Chardonnay that was above average for a "by the glass" wine list. They do have a full wine list available. For less than $150, we sat at club level and had a wonderful meal. The service was the only portion that could have used some work as my wine came halfway through the meal and the waiters aren't serving anything, so that was a little bit questionable. Anyway, I would absolutely recommend this for anyone who wants to have a nice evening at the Amway- just make SURE you get there early since the ledge seating goes fast. read more

He rushed thru offering us drinks...and remember this is a buffet, so he didn't have to bring us any food. Jernigans is like all restaurants in amway run by the same company - not bad but not great but where jernigans fails is the experience. Arrive 15 minutes before tipoff for tipoff seating and you will be in a long line to check in for your reservation. When you arrive st the front of that line you will be handed a pager. Tipoff will come and go while you stand around and wait for a table with empty tables all around you. Meanwhile while you wait, a smug levy employee jumps out of line to bring his guests past the check in and pager lines to be seated immediately. All this is done in front of you, The food is good but is it 50/person good. No it's not. It's only worth it if the experience comes with it. Otherwise it's just a very expensive buffet with limited selection. You will miss tip off with tip off seating unless you arrive very very early. Also if there are more than 2 people in your party, know that only 2 of them will be able to see the game unless 2 members of your party are made of glass. My advice to levy restaurants is: Fix the check in process. Speed it up and never ever hand a pager to someone when multiple tables are empty, it says we don't care about you. Also, understand people hate waiting in lines and when you get to the front of the line and have to wait longer because smug employee wants to get a group at back of line through quicker, it's infuriating. Looked like a fabulous buffet and an opportunity to sit front row overlooking the magic game on the ledge. Well, the ledge seating is $10 more. They have 2 seatings. One at 5pm and the other at 7pm. The items in the buffet were below average in taste. The chefs walk around with food carved to order (sounds awesome) but the food was cold!! Choices were sausage, chicken, and ribs and would have been wonderful if the food was hot! Our waitress was not to be found anywhere until it was time to pay up. You are allowed to eat up until the end of the 3rd quarter. I asked for a coffee and even that was cold. A lesson in "not everything appears as it seems." Extremely disapointed. read more

We found out early on this was THEE way to watch the games at the new center. After 9 visits, I will say as the season went on, the food quality, selection and service declined rather than improved. We found an amazing server that we requested for subsequent visits and he was amazing! The other 2 we had were similar to as described above - slow with drinks, late on alcohol, etc. The food is usually pretty good, but like the other reviewer said, not GREAT. Still, it is the most comfortable way to watch the games! Reservations are a must - even then, you are not guaranteed to get in your seat on time. There are always two seatings, so be sure to get the appropriate seating. There see,s to be a hug lack of organization as far as running the front of the house - that is the only real problem the venue has. Getting people in and seated in a timely fashion. More than once the guests waiting had a better concept of what sections were cleaned and ready for seating, how many reservations were being waited on and how may walk-ups there were just from standing around so long. This place as stated by many others has gone downhill! I have eaten here about a dozen times and the food quality is not the same. First of they charged $10 extra a person because they had a "guest chef" which I was never informed of until I received my bill. It came out to $70 a person for a buffet that included hotdogs. The carving station was overcooked beef. I have recommended this place to many of my friends but I am now telling them don't waste your money. This place used to be great and have a wide variety but not anymore. They say the better games have better food I beg to differ because I attended the Lakers vs Magic game and like I said hotdogs were on the spread. Save your money! read more

Where to start....first off they don't tell you the prices of anything except the drinks on the menu. Our bill was $54 dollars per person just for the buffet. But whatever, you know going it's gonna cost you. The main problem was the service. Our waiter, if you wanna call him that, was named Joe (from NY) asked for our drink order when we got there about 10 minutes before the game started. We ordered 1 bottle of Mark West Pino Noir($41). We finally got our drinks when there was 9 minutes left in the second quarter....completely unacceptable. It was a Wednesday night and there was hardly anyone there. Another waiter came by and we asked him for water which we got pretty quick. Anyway we ate a plate of food before the wine came and when the wine came we asked for new plates...that took till :30 seconds left in the first half at which point we just took plates from an empty table. We asked for salt and peeper but that never came. So now it's the fourth quarter and we see our waiter walking around but never comes by. Then at last he came over and we asked for water, which we could see a pitcher of about 30 feet away. He walked away and didn't bother with the water. Finally I got up and got the pitcher and poured for myself. Finally the bill comes and we notice we had paid more because of where they sat us and because there was a "guest chef". We didn't eat anything from the guest chef but whatever. The waiter brings the check back and stood behind me waiting for me to sign. After about 5 minutes he tried to take it away and I said I had not signed yet. Basically his only job was to get a check signed. Long story short, don't waste your money. Will not visit again... We walked in during last evenings game, no reservation needed - wonder why... Food selection was minimal and not well prepared. We love eating here - especially if we are taking friends with us. It is easy to visit and yet gives a great view of the game. We enjoyed the choices and the taste - our bread was wonderful and the servers seemed to be right there if anything was needed! Our regular seats are great but this is just fun for the eating and drinking. :o) Try it - most of you will like it! read more

I would not recommend going to Jernigans at all. No matter what the other reviews state here save your money !!!!! The service is ok nothing great ! The food is 54.00 person and its plain Aweful !!! The food sits under a heating lamp and its all dried out and disgusting. The only nice person there is the bartender. Management of the restaurant is extremely unprofessional and do not care about customers or customer service. The food is absolutely not worth the money they charge. I have had better food at Ale house ! For the price they charge go somewhere nice and save your money ! This has to be the most overpriced place that serves dried up , tasteless, disgusting food. read more
