I brought my car in to get shocks and struts replaced. Cost $1,500+ which seems like the higher end of what that usually costs, says google. When I got my car back it was making a scraping noise so I had to bring it back in the next day. They fixed it with no extra charge and said something they installed was faulty. Not sure how that could get past them because they would have had to drive my car into a parking spot and the scraping noise was not subtle. Now it is probably 6 months later and my car has been scraping on everything since then! My suspension was not put back the way it was, it is crazy low to the ground now. WASTE OF TIME & MONEY. Not sure how they have been in business for 50 years. Brought my car in to have spark plugs and coils replaced. CAR WAS RUNNING FINE BEFORE THIS. I just wanted to be proactive and do something responsible for myself. Took them ACCUMULATIVELY 11 HRS over 2 days. Was told initially "spark plugs and coils are simple and take about 1 hr to replace" -Service Manager. After they "replaced" my coils and plugs for 3 HOURS my check engine light came on shortly after leaving the shop so i brought it back the next day. It felt like i had a misfire and i assumed that from previous experience with other previously owned vehicles. Mechanic test drove my car about 5-10x and still didn't figure out anything; going back and forth from garage to test drive FOR 8 HOURS. They alluded to me being at fault for putting gas in my car asking where i got fuel etc. They eventually "cleared the check engine light" and shortly after leaving, engine light came on AGAIN. I never went back and for $140 between walmart & O'reilly's I FIXED IT MYSELF. (Cylinder 4 misfire) from the OBD2 scanner i bought. Got my own spark plugs and tools to replace it and did it IN 15 MINUTES with youtube. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE. Very to themselves and do not communicate as they should with customers about the customers vehicle and progress. They seem nice and love to offer bottled water but thats about all they're worth. This downtown tire shop was helpful and efficient in my moment of need. I had rolled over a nail at some point and didn't know, so when I came to my car in the morning I had a 100% flat in zero degree temps. I called my roadside assistance and got the spare put in, then drove to the nearby Jensen to see how they could help (and how promptly). They were able to help me immediately at 1:30pm on a Thursday and the job was done fairly quickly (30-40 mins) for which I sat in their waiting room and watched cable tv (the luxury of being the only customer waiting around). The customer center is clean, well lit, and doesn't smell like a car shop. It was a good experience and I would recommend them to others in need of a patch job or tire change. read more

Go some where else! Three weeks ago, Thought I would save time and bring car there while at work for an oil change - BIG MISTAKE!!! I dropped off my car on July 12, 2019 at Jensen for an oil change. Picked it up with mud on floor boards had to clean off and squeaking noise. Made a complaint on their customer service survey and they called and said to bring it In. My son is a student at Creighton and doesn't really have any experience with cars, his dad would usually take care of things of that sort. When the alarm went on due to low tire pressure, he found a nail on one of the tires and took it to Jensen and got fixed right away and didn't even get charged for it. Very thankful for the staff unfortunately he didn't get the name of the gentleman that helped him. As a young female with no car knowledge, I am weary of being overcharged. However, when I got a flat, Ray and everyone else at Jensen were incredible! They were able to get me in and out in 30 minutes as a walk in before a morning shift. They took all the guesswork out of getting a new tire, with a good recommendation and an easy to understand receipt. Easiest experience ever. I went into this Jensen Tire & Auto for their Winter maintenance special. It was an oil change, wheel alignment and tire rotation for $99. I left my car there in the morning, went to work, and came back 8 hours later. They had only changed the oil and said their wheel alignment tool was backed up. So I had to return the next day to finish the simple job. Ended up costing way more than $99 and they tried to trick me into spending more on unnecessary maintenance. This is why I never go commercial for my car maintenance! I don't trust these guys. I don't trust what they say is wrong is actually wrong. There is no photographs or evidence of the alleged "problems" with your car. Only gave 2 stars because staff was nice and place was clean. read more

I'll admit to having only been here once, for a routine oil change. So, keep that in mind. But, it's a very rare experience when I leave a car repair location feeling really good about the whole experience. Being a car repair novice, I have to trust that the folks are dealing me straight and let's be honest, most of them probably aren't. I didn't get that feeling that they were trying to get over on me here. Tyler greeted me at drop off and was very professional and pleasant. He asked when I would want to pick my car up and I mentioned that I worked just down the road and would walk back to get it in the afternoon. He then informed me that there is a 10% discount to employees of my employer. Very cool. He didn't have to tell me that. I had no idea. So, I really appreciated that little extra savings and him letting me know about it unsolicited. The location itself is very clean and there is seating if you need to wait. If you go to the Jensen website, they have coupons for monthly deals. I got a full synthetic oil change with the coupon and discount for about 25 bucks cheaper than the first place to which I took my car. All told, I can definitely see this Jensen location being my choice for most of my car repair needs in Omaha. read more

Absolutely terrible, do not go there. Incredibly shady and misleading employees who tried to overcharge me close to 4 TIMES the actual fix. Provided wrong diagnostic and even things they did find right, any other place I called charged me half to 2/3 the price. The management is unpleasant, will try to avoid the actual issue by throwing water buckets of car terminology on you, when the issue is the place is shady and will overcharge you or will simply add problems to your vehicle that aren't there. read more

How nice they were! My back passenger window wouldn't go up and the weather was in the negatives. They said bring in my car and see they can find the problem, they would park it inside overnight and maybe even that would do it. They called the next morning and told me they didn't have access to the parts (electric car) but they did sell me some really good tires to get around in for this horrible winter! The evening I brought it in they even stayed until my ride got there a few minutes after 6pm. So nice! They have always had an answer on my other car and always great about repairing it. Came in for an oil change, had to set an appointment a few days beforehand, very satisfied with the service. I was impressed, the shop looks and smells clean, considering the neighborhood outside, and the service was friendly and professional. The conventional oil change with the 14 point inspection took about an hour, and cost me $18 as advertised on the website. They advised me to get some repairs but didn't pressure me into buying them. I purchased four tires from Jensen about 1 year ago, from this location. Since then, one blew out when I was out of town, and my son went to a local "discount shop" and bought a replacement for less than $30. I am preparing to take a couple of summer, family trips out of state, so my wife suggested an oil change and having the tires checked. I made an appointment on-line for service at 7 am when the store opened. I arrived at 7:05, and checked in. The person who set up my service put on a strong sell for the fluids that clean the engine and fuel lines (for an additional $70) and the more expensive "Max Life" oil changed because my vehicle is over 200,000 miles. There is a promotion for the Max Life oil change and free tire rotation (plus there is supposed to be free rotation when the tires are purchased from Jensen. As I said, 3 of them were still purchased there.) I mentioned the odd tire, and asked them to be sure we are ready for some longer trips. I said there is a very slight wobble in the front end, which I assumed is the different tires working together. I chose the Max Life change, without the $70 fluids, and the tire inspection. I was given an estimate of 90 minutes for the service. I like to watch my car's progress and noted that it wasn't taken in the garage for 45 minutes after my sign in/"appointment". If you want to hose out the garage the first hour, you should advertise you open at 8 am. And, no surprise, it took and extra 45 minutes to complete; especially when they said they didn't have my style of oil filter. For a Ford Fusion. I think the pressure of the extra time getting the filter affected the overall performance, because when I was told my vehicle was ready, I asked specifically if the tires had been rotated, and was at first told "yes"; but then the technician was walking by and said "no, I didn't rotate those tires". The counter person looked at him and said "but you did torque them good, right?" and he said "yes". Meaning they took the time, supposedly, to make sure the lug nuts are on snugly; but the odd tire is still in the front. Remember, they were purchased with a guarantee of rotation, the oil change special includes free rotation, and I specifically requested the tires be reviewed for our safety. My first experience, last year, was good (worth a 2nd star in memory of it) but today, the emphasis was "upsell". (I chose Jensen a year ago to avoid the high pressure sales of national chains like Firestone, which sits across the street. If that is what you want, for warranty assurance, a national chain would be a better choice, where you can get assistance coast to coast, but pressure from Jensen doesn't carry the same assurance if you need assistance somewhere away from their 21 locations). I was handed a list of "recommended" services they wanted to do, and the estimated prices. I was told they didn't have records of the services being done (we bought the car about a year ago) and the parts may be original; and about half were "preventative" in nature. The total estimate comes to $3000 on a 10+ year old car with 200,000+ miles that we paid just under $4000 for when we bought it. I said I'd think about it. In reality, I have a "guy" who does most of my major, necessary repairs, and I will run it by him. If needed and worthwhile for the value of the vehicle, he will do what is necessary, and the labor will be about 1/2 or less. He has been the manager of a dealer's service center, running his own shop now. I might consider the value of a warranty, but not if I can't get my tires rotated at a "tire" business. read more

On one hand, these folks are courteous, their shop is well-kept, and if you choose not to use their service, they won't charge you for inspection. On the other hand, I had a bad brake pad and they wanted to replace the discs and calipers too. The mechanic told me that the shallow groove the caliper had left in the disc had damaged the disc beyond repair. Granted, if I'd been driving much longer with that bad brake pad, I probably would have damaged the caliper. But I had another (trusted) mechanic look at it, and after judging that the caliper was fine, he looked at the groove in the disc and said that a new brake pad would polish that out over the next few days. Jensen also diagnosed me with leaking brake fluid on the rear brakes. My trusted mechanic said he couldn't find any trace of a leak. So: not somewhere I'm inclined to take my business. read more

Alright y'all LISTEN. I'm a broke college student at Creighton University and I got the WORST flat tire one can imagine. That crap was like driving on a tire made of deli meat. I went in to the shop completely alone and confused (because adulting is new to some people) and every person I spoke to was unbelievably nice and helped me out so much. The front receptionist, Bobby, was absolutely wonderful. She was very welcoming and helped ease my anxiety. They do top notch work. How top notch you ask? So top notch I would recommend them to Warren Buffet. Next time you find yourself with some pain-in-the-ass damage to your car, take that crap to Jensen on Harney, they'll fix it up real nice. read more

Months later after not doing any work to it (and driving it around with no problems) I took it to another reputable shop and asked them to look at it without mentioning what the other shop had told me. My experience with Jensen Tire & Auto was not a good experience and I would not recommend 20th & Harney or Council Bluffs Jensen Tire & Auto. I started online looking for tire specials and seen Jensen had some BF Goodrich tires for $135.00 and when you buy 4 you would qualify for a $70.00 Master Card from BF Goodrich on qualifying tires. In fact it was on Jensen Tire & Auto's website and seen it advertised on TV commercials. I first stopped in the Council Bluffs location and asked about any promotions and the sales clerk stated they didn't have anything to offer. Even when I asked him about the BF Goodrich promotions the salesman said no not aware of any promotions. I then called Jensen Tire & Auto on 20th & Harney and spoke with the salesman and asked about the BF Goodrich promotion and he did acknowledge they do have that promotion going on until December 7th. The salesman then stated he didn't have the tires in stock but could get them from another location local but now the tires went up from $135.00 a tire to $156.00 a tire. Why would Jensen Tire & Auto charge more to the customer for not having the tires in stock? If this is the way Jensen Tire & Auto runs their business then I wouldn't recommend Jensen Tire & Auto to anyone as that is not a way to treat customers. read more

I brought my car in and was told it needed 900.00 in repairs and it should be completed by the end of the day, it was decided to leave it overnight so they could take their time as I have a lot of custom paint under the hood. I called the next morning and spoke with Ray and simply asked when it might be done that 2nd day and was rudely told I will call you as fast as I can multiple times that's all he would say to me so I called back 4 hrs later and spoke with Paul who was supposed to look into it and call me back and I never heard from him again! So I then walk down there at lunchtime and again ask Ray if he can tell me when it might be done and why a 4hr!! job was taking so long and again he was very rude and brisk with me and would only repeat its a big job we are working on it and it will be done when its done!! I contacted local corporate and Nick came back only with excuses as to why I was being treated so poorly! I have never been treated like that by any company! I only wanted someone to give me a approx. time frame when my car might be done as well as a logical reason why a 4hr job was taking almost two days and no one could seem to be bothered to do that but they had no problem when it came time to pay, And now I have to wonder if I really needed all the repairs in the first place. Last weekend my wife were visiting from out-of-town attending her uncle's funeral. We attended a family dinner after the visitation and were driving back to our hotel when we had a clutch pedal failure. This was a Friday evening and we were planning on driving back to Kansas City Saturday afternoon after the burial. Our tow truck driver (Spencer from Midtown Towing) said good things about Jensen. We looked them up to make sure they were open on Saturday and then dropped our Honda Element off there. Early the next morning I called them and explained my situation. They were very nice and replaced the clutch master cylinder by 1 p.m. I think the price was reasonable (approximately $350 including parts, labor and tax). I came into Jensen knowing my vehicle needed some work and I told them I was willing to pay what I needed to if it meant my car would be good to go. After spending 2400 dollars on multiple different things I would have thought I would be driving my car for a few months with no problems. However, after driving off the lot and taking a 30 minute drive, the parts of my car I sent in to have worked on started happening again. When I took my car back three days later I was expecting that it would be taken care of. Jensen explained that my car needed another 1000 dollars worth of work to fix this new problem that just happened to have occurred after picking it up. If I knew that my car needed 3400 dollars of work done I would have used that money to put down a downpayment of a newer car. I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or colleagues. All in all, my experience with Jensen has been a total waste of money and waste of time. read more
