I went to Banya 5 for the first time today. They offer a birthday discount so, I was like, why not?…read moreI've been eyeing this place for a hot minute in search of a good steam room. Unfortunately, the temperature was so weak and the steam so scant, that the benefits of a traditional turkish steam bath were essentially non-existent. Very disappointing And because of this, everyone was using the more intense dry sauna, which made for a rather crowded situation. I found the cold plunge pool difficult to egress because there are no steps, only a vertical ladder. My muscles unexpectedly froze-up and I could barely pull myself out. I almost got stuck. Not the best design. I'll stick to the cold waterfall shower in the corner which offers a nice option for anyone who desires a less intense contrast therapy. The best part of my visit today was the welcoming and professional staff, soothing ambiance, thoughtful touches in the locker room (complimentary Q-tips, cotton facial pads, body wash shampoo/conditioner) and courteous patrons - Banya 5 is indeed a very supportive and inclusive environment! They explained everything I needed to know, answered my questions, and gave me a locker key and fresh white towels. A nice young lady at the checkin desk suggested I try sweetening my Market Spice "Breathe Deep" tea in the upstairs tea room with a lovely boysenberry jam. What a great idea and delicious way to finish my session. While there are a few things that could improve, overall this was a clean, welcoming, and unique spa experience in the heart of the city that I hope to return to. Thank you Banya 5 for a wonderful day!

A fantastic spa in the South Lake Union area. It's even an easy walk from the South Lake Union…read morestreetcar. They provide you with a locker, sandals, and towels for use while there. The humid sauna is my favorite along with the tepid pool. They have showers to get a blast of cold water in between sauna sessions as well. Also, do not forget the tea space upstairs to relax. Great time and will be back soon to try other spa services.

Elaia Spa was an absolute dream! I had a deep tissue massage with Isabel, and she was incredible…read morefrom start to finish. She found every knot, worked with so much skill and care, and was especially gentle around my neck area, which I really appreciated. I left feeling completely revived, refreshed, and rejuvenated. If you're looking for a spa experience that truly delivers, I can't recommend Elaia Spa and Isabel enough!

Booked a day pass expecting a relaxing spa experience, but it felt more like access to a standard…read morehotel pool and gym rather than a true spa experience as advertised. The "lap pool" was 84 degrees which is way too warm for actual lap swimming. The locker situation was also frustrating. Day pass guests can only use lockers on the pool deck, not in the locker room, which defeats the purpose if you come prepared with clothes to change into after showering -- there's nowhere secure or convenient to store your belongings inside the locker room itself. On top of that, the locker room wasn't very clean and robes weren't provided. The pool area is open to all hotel guests, including kids, so it never felt calm or spa-like. Between the crowd, temperature of the pool, and limited amenities, it didn't match the spa experience that was advertised. I frequent hotel spas, and this was one of the most disappointing given the price. It would feel more appropriate at about half the cost, especially since parking isn't validated for day pass guests.

I cannot recommend this business due to their unfair billing practices. I came in to redeem a gift…read morecertificate that was explicitly purchased as a "Relax Package" which includes massage and facial. Despite the certificate clearly naming these services, the business forced me to pay an additional $20 out-of-pocket because their internal prices had increased since the card was bought. There is absolutely no fine print or disclosure on the certificate stating that prices are subject to change or that the customer is responsible for price differences. A prepaid gift should be fully honored when they sell it as a package on their website. Forcing a customer to pay extra for a prepaid package is a terrible business practice. The massage and facial were just okay. Not exceptional experiences. There were communication issue with the girl who performed my massage. The girl that did my massage asked if I would like them to work on my sculp that day. I was confused if she meant during the massage it facial so I asked. She said "Oh! You have a facial appointment too? Then I'll let her do that during the facial." However, the girl who performed facial did not perform massage on my sculp. I'm not very pleased with the experience and would not go back or recommend to anyone.
