OH MY GOD THIS PLACE IS SO BIZARRE IT'S LIKE AN ALTERNATE SHOPPING UNIVERSE!…read more That being said, I did enjoy my experience here. We pulled up to this weirdly non-descript building, walked in, "ding"............no one. So we started looking around, among the fringed jackets, creepy puppets, and piles of moccasins.....still no one. A few minutes passed.....a tea kettle warming up on a pot belly stove started whistling...still no one. A few more minutes...in walks this old, some might say grizzled man - the Owner! - who, oddly enough, is from Memphis. This could have been the point where we were murdered. But, I'm not writing this from the other side, so we were safe. The mocs were pretty cool - as long as you could navigate the shelves, which were overflowing with goods and not particularly well organized. The pairs ranged from the simple ($29) to the kind of expensive moccasins I would buy if I was rich, hip, and in some Brooklyn-based band that was being supported by my trust fund ($100+). So I walked away with my life, a pair of cozy mocs (no tax), and a complementary highlighter/pen combo to commemorate my shopping experience. There's more that I didn't include here - but you should definitely check this place out if you're on Rte 7. and help keep this crazy place in business.

Our trip to Mahican Moccasin Shop was delightful! The customer service is excellent. The owner was…read morequiet, but pleasant and extremely knowledgeable about local history and cultural heritage of the Mahicans. The quaint shop has a large variety of gift items, including hand-crafted moccasins in men's, women's and children's sizes, stone and beaded jewelry, clothing, mohican artifacts, toys, leather belts, leather hats, sheepskin, deer hide, and even custom-made footwear to your order. For locally made items, Mahican Moccasin Shop has Vermont-made maple syrup, maple sugar candy, cheeses, wild strawberry and blueberry jams, New England recipe books, and much more. We will definitely be back to Mahican Moccasin Shop next time we are up in Vermont. It's the perfect place for creative gifts and fun items for yourself!

Moving to the East Coast has required some adjustments... especially with regards to my shoes. I…read morelost part of the heel on a pair of leather Tory Burch boots did not hold up versus the snow very long, thus I found myself in need of shoe repair. 5 minutes on yelp later, I found Delmar bootery. I arrived on a Tuesday to drop off to drop off the boots to have the heel replaced. Service was prompt, efficient, and polite - the woman behind the counter took not a second longer than was necessary, which I know some may find off-putting, but I appreciated her efficiency. The boots were ready on Saturday AM to be picked up (just as they said), and the rubber replacement is much more suitable for the snow. They also appear to have shined them up a bit. I've already brought back two additional pairs of heels to be replaced since I appreciated the job that they did. The thing that most impressed me is that on one of the pairs had 2 options for a repair - a cheaper, simpler repair and a more thorough one - and the girl behind the counter (before I could ask!) took it back to show the cobbler in the back, then had him come up and discuss the options with me. They really want to make sure the repairs get done correctly, but also exactly as the customer wants. They do a stamp card for heel replacements - buy 6, get the 7th one free!

I stopped in this store today looking for RFID wallets. They had a nice selection of genuine…read moreleather RFID ones which I was super excited to see. However, the prices were ridiculous. Smallish leather wallets from a brand I had never heard of were between $65 and over $100! I went to TJ Maxx in Latham and got one for $25, also genuine leather and Fossil brand. I will say the customer service here was excellent and the store is conveniently located In Stuyvesant Plaza, but wow, the prices were astonishingly high!
