Rosa, who does all the alterations etc at this establishment is outstanding. i know everyone who has jeans loves all the holes in them and even buys them with rips. well, i take all my old ripped jeans and Rosa fixes them for me. i cant tell you how many jeans and holes in my socks she has mended for me. so, if you have favorite jeans/pants you cant part with take them to her. I used Maria's Alterations years ago for my prom dresses and absolutely loved them. Therefore when it came time to get my wedding dress altered I made an appointment. I was very excited and loved my wedding dress that I had given to me by my aunt and I thought I looked amazing in it. I went to my appointment and I mentioned to the seamstress about adding sleeves or straps, she immediately told me she doesn't do that and I might want to find another seamstress. I said it wasn't a big deal and moved on to my other concern which was the dress riding up slightly when I walked (I think this is just caused by the design of the dress), the seamstress told me it was too tight on me (everything zips up fine and I felt comfortable with extra room). Instead of offering options to help fix things about the dress I had concerns about I was just met with either they couldn't do something or it was too tight. In the end they gave me a quote for hemming the dress ($400) plus other misc. for a total of $565. I left in tears and called an hour later to cancel my alterations. I went from confident to embarrassed while standing up there in my dress. So much so I went out that night and looked at other dress options. The next day one of the employees called me to schedule to pick up the dress unaltered and told me she was adding a $40 charge for the hour I was there (the seamstress was with us for a total of 20 minutes). I have no problem paying for her time, but an hour was a far stretch. I made mention of the limited amount of time the seamstress was with us for and I was met argumentative text messages. Needless to say I paid the $40 and I will not be going back there. They definitely need to learn some kindness. read more

Came in to get my suit adjusted the week before a wedding and Rosa did an superb job. Hemmed my pants, took in the sleeves of my jacket, and made everything fit perfectly. Maria's did a wonderful job with my wedding dress for a 9/25/21 wedding! At the recommendation of a couple of girlfriends I took my dress here to do my wedding dress alterations. I was out of state and nervous about coordinating everything but Maria's was so helpful with the scheduling and did everything they could to make sure I was able to come in 2-3 times and the dress turned out beautifully. Both my pants and dress came back too long after being hemmed. The pants I figured I could fix on my own but I thought the dress was beyond my capabilities so I brought it back. The older lady there insisted that it was hemmed to where they measured it (which is funny, because she wasn't even there when I dropped it off) and then the other lady (Maria, I presume) said no problem, they could fix it. So I tried it on again and they insisted it wasn't "actually" touching the ground it was only touching when I looked down at it because I leaned a little. Well, it's splitting hairs if you ask me. I didn't want the dress touching the ground, period, which is what I had said in my initial visit. So they pinned it up and said it would be ready in a week. I went back today, a week later and initially they couldn't find the dress and insisted that they did not tell me it would be done by today, because they would "never schedule a pickup for today" and that they "must" have said two weeks, not one. Well they eventually found the dress (actually, I spotted it hanging up and pointed it out to them) and turns out it was done. However, the hem job was TERRIBLE. I could have done better on my cheap tiny sowing machine at home that I barely know how to use. My husband asked if I let my four year old son hem it. I only wish I could post photos here for proof, but I would be embarrassed if a hem job looking like that left my shop. It is very loose in spots, completely uneven, and very poorly done. I suspect they were mad that I brought the dress back. I'm grateful that I didn't bring the pants back as well. I'm disappointed because I wanted to love this place, given their reviews, but as I keep looking at the dress I know I can't go back there and I can't recommend that anybody else does either. I can't be bothered driving back there to have it redone, waiting at least another week, and frankly I'd be afraid the dress would come out with worse than a terrible hem at this point. They clearly don't take kindly to "returns." read more

Maria had altered 3 of my prom dresses nearly 10 years ago and did an AMAZING job (her prices were also very reasonable.) So last week I came back to get my wedding fitted, and again she is such a breeze to work with. She conviced me to just try my dress on without the buister I thought I needed and it looks 1000x better! She pinned it exactly how I wanted and even had me sit down to make sure it wasn't too tight, she really knows what shes doing! My dress is about half an inch too long and Maria gave my mother and I a tip on how to iron the petticoat to make the bottom of my dress flare out a bit more so I could save money by not having to get it hemmed! My second fitting is in 3 weeks and her quoted price is 1/3 of the cost the wedding dress shop wanted to charge me! I seriously cannot recomend her enough. read more
